The main purpose of this study is to clarify the necessity and significance of a new conceptual framework on the basic elements of education. This study focussed its efforts on suggesting the conceptual framework of the basic elements of human education developed by SHE. SHE formulated a new conceptual framework of education with a view to contribute to the better understanding of education in its totality, and to the formulation of more comprehensive strategies for educotional development. The conceptual framework of human education by SHE are summarized as follows : 1. SHE presupposes that education is structural. This means three things: 1) education is an integrated whole ; 2) it is transformational ; and 3) it has feed-back mechanism. 2. Such a structural nature is inherent to all levels of the system of education. The levels are classified as follows : 1) Over-all structure (the 1st level system) 2) Dimension structure (the 2nd level system) 3) Component structure (the 3rd level system) 4) Subsequent levels of structure 3. SHE defines human education as "human interaction between the teacher and the learner facilitating value-oriented human development and the transmission and creative development of value-oriented culture related to human development. This definition of human education needs four clarifications. This paper deals with the basic elements of human education in the first level system, the over-all structure of human education. The basic elements of human education by SHE fall into four large components as follows : 1. Identification of Subjects (IS) 2. Goal-Setting (GS) 3. Program Planning (PP) 4. Resources Provision (RP) These components are integrated through relationships unique to human education. This conceptual framework on the basic elements of human education by SHE may serve as the frame of reference for the new understanding of education. Consequently, this study contributes significantly to make the academic development of education.

어느나라 말이나 같은 현상ㅇ리 것이지만 우리가 영어를 살펴볼때 흔히 같은 또는 비슷한 뜻을 가진 어휘에 부딪치게 된다. 같은 뜻을 가진 어휘일지라도 그 뜻이 완전히 같은 것인가, 차이가 있다면 어떻게 다른가? 물론 이것은 문장을 통해서 그 쓰임새로 이해하게 되고 같은 뜻을 가진 단어일지라도 각기 단어가 품겨주는 뉴앙스는 상당히 다르다는 것을 알게 된다. 뜻이 같은 또는 비슷한 어휘를 동의어 또는 유사어라 한다. 특히 영어는 역사적으로 고찰할때 여러나라 말이 필요에 따라 수입되고 자연스럽게 동화되어 왔기 때문에 다른나라 말보다 유사어가 풍부한 것이다.

小說의 技法上의 형식을 무시하고 詩的 vision을 회복시킨 Lawrence는 우리에게 흥미있는 作家이다. 낡은 감정을 버리고 새로운 것을 표현하기 위해서는 무언인가 새로운 표현 수단이 필요했다. 그는 지금까지 볼 수 없었던 새로운 技術的 表現을 통하여 그의 emotion을 표현하므로서 그의 獨創性을 발휘했다. Lawrence의 性의 探求는 반드시 肉體禮讚이나 官能主義는 아니며 오히려 知性偏重과 思想過剩을 排斥하는 것과 같이 官能만의 眈溺도 全人生活의 상실이라 하여 그는 이를 거부했다. Lawrence의 小說에서는 어떤 형식도 찾아 볼 수 없다. 동시대 作家들의 형식에 대한 이상한 관심과 과도한 創作 意識을 싫어했던 Lawrence에게는 그의 小說은 산 인생으로부터 와야 했고 그것을 읽는 이의 산 全人을 뒤흔드는 것이 아니어서는 안된다. 그렇게 하기 위해서는 어떤 한정된 말로 그의 소설을 고정시킨다는 것은 불가능한 일이었다. Lawrence는 그의 理想을 달성하는 수단으로서 그의 독특한 설교를 소설에다 삽입한다. 기계문명에 대한 현대인의 순수성의 상실이라는 주제에 대해서 지나치게 민감해서 그 불행을 치료하는 방법을 추구하는데 열을 띠게 되었으며 그 수단의 하나로 說敎를 小說에다 도입하게 된 것이다. Lawrence는 보통사람이 볼 수 없는 진실을 계시하고 照明해줄 위대한 소설가에는 틀림없지만 說敎的 意圖가 지나치게 노출될때는 想像力과 說敎사이에 調和가 파괴된다. 그러나 이런 부분이 있다고 해서 그의 전체작품의 創造性과 藝術性이 파괴되는 것은 아니다. Lawrence의 小說에서는 그라 理想으로 하는 思想의 영향이 너무 강했기 때문에 그 배경에 있는 藝術的인 要素들이 무시되고 生前에는 藝術家로서 정당히 평가받지 못하였다. Lawrence와 같이 참다운 創造의 天才를 타고난 사람에게는 우리가 알 수 없는 미지의 세계를 파악 할 수 있었고 우리가 볼 수 없는 암흑의 세계를 느낄수 있었으니 그의 감수력은 보통 사람의 의식의 경계를 뛰어넘어 우리가 감촉할 수 없는 미지에의 신비한 체험을 우리가 알 수 있는 形態, 즉 文學藝術의 言語로 표현할 수 있었던 것이다. Lawrence는 創造의 天才를 타고난 위대한 小說家였다.

THE LIMITATION OF THE PSYCHOLOGICAL APPROCH : CENTERING UPON "LOVE SONG OF PRUFROCK"

엘리어트의 초기시는 후기시와 다름없이 기독교적인 종교시이다. "프루프로크 연가"에서는 일상적인 존재의 무의미함에서 벗어나려는 초월적인 의지가 좌절되는 한 중년 남성을 그려보임으로써 믿음이 없는 한 평범한 인간의 영적 교류의 실패의 전형을 보여주고 있으며 "게론티언"에서는 성서적 함축을 더욱 노골적으로 드러내면서 신앙과 역사의 관계를 다루고 있으며 "황무지"에서는 전설상의 가치체계의 도입을 통해 믿음이 없는 세계의 황폐상을 보여 주고 있다. 그의 시는 종말론적인 세계관과 구원자의 재림을 뚜렷하게 드러내는 종교시이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 프로이드적인 입장을 고수하는 비평가들은 그의 시에 담겨 있는 종교적인 특질을 무시하고 오로지 성적 함축에만 집착함으로써 섹슈얼리티 일변도로 의곡 시켰으며 당대적인 문명비판을 기대하는 비평가들은 그의 시에서 현대세계에 대한 환멸을 찾기에만 급급하여 그의 시에 담겨 있는 인간조건의 영원한 궁경을 의곡시켰다. 한편 그의 시의 표현 기법상의 원천 탐색에 몰두한 비평가들은 엘리어트의 독창성과 그의 시의 특이한 가치에 대해서는 무력할 수밖에 없는 한계를 노출시켰다.

Conrad의 理想的 人間像 : Singleton을 中心으로

The object of this thesis is to study an image of an idealistic human being through the objectification of Singleton's consciousness and activities which were disclosed on the boat isolated from society as a microcosm. Singleton who had been a crew for more than sixty years, and had a long experience and excellent craft, was indifferent to Wait and his illness. Though challenges and tests which were made by Wait and Donkin who were immoral, agitated the crews spirit and seamanship, and the crew's loyalty, sincerity and sense of responsibility were relaxed, only the old sailor singleton could overcome the dangerous circumstances, and be the basis for the Captain Allistoun's success. When cowardice, betrayal and irresponsibility were not only an antagonistic concept of courage and responsibility, but also meant weakness, and at last they leaped in death that contrast life-action-and the world of the worth, Singleton was only a crew who had courage, loyalty and sincerity. The two tests, one for seamanship and the other for tough morality were, however, overcome with effort which restrained demorality by Singleton and Allistoun. They were distinctly superhumen as they relieved the crew from feeling of envy, greed and demoralization, and relaxed seamanship including courage, unity and perseverance became one body in the storm to fight against the natural power. Singleton, however, after landing should be appeared a dirty old man who lost his abilities, industry and loyalty. The land is too demoralized to understand this superhuman.
