멕시코의 여성 작가인 엘레나 가로(1917-1998)는 멕시코 기원의 역사와 관련된 논쟁적인 두 가지 테마에 주목하고 있다. 1521년 8월 13일, 80일 간의 저항 끝에 멕시코의 테노치티틀란은 스페인에 함락되었다. 그리고 이렇게 시작된 정복과 식민화는 이후 3세기 동안 지속되었다. 이 과정에서 말린체라는 한 여성과 아즈텍 제국에 인접한 속국이었던 틀락스깔라 왕국은 스페인의 승리에 결정적인 요인으로 작용했다. 1964년에 발표된 『La culpa es de los tlaxacaltecas』에는 라우라라는 주인공을 통해 죄의식을 형상화하는 방식으로 이 두 가지 배신의 상징이 드러난다. 역사적인 시간과 신화적인 시간의 융합 또는 혼란을 통해 근원을 찾아가는 작가의 구성방식은 비평가들의 찬사를 받았다. 두 개의 시간과 두 개의 역사가 공존하는 세계에서 주인공은 두 명의 남편의 아내로서 현재의 시간과 신화적인 시간을 동시에 살아나간다. 이 소설에서는 한 명의 여인과 하나의 도시와 하나의 국가의 과거와 현재를 접목시킴으로써 미래를 이해하기 위해 과거로 돌아갈 수 있는 기회를 제공해 준다. 또한 역사와 시간 속에서 현재가 차지하는 진정한 의미를 알 수 있게 해 준다. 본고에서는 시간과 공간, 역사의 형성과정과 관련된 소설의 구조와 정체성 문제와 관련된 중심인물의 형상화에 대해 살펴볼 것이다.

El ana´lisis de algunos elementos de la teori´a poe´tica de Sergio Pitol es nuestro objeto de estudio en su primera novela: El tan~ido de una flauta (1972). La novela anuncia las li´neas fundamentales de la trayectoria literaria de Sergio Pitol: estructuras abiertas e inconclusas, la universalidad de la angustia del hombre, la traductibilidad de las lenguas, el conflicto ante la imagen del doble y el papel del lector son las li´neas que se desarrollan en el presente ensayo. El texto en cuestio´n abre la segunda etapa de la trayectoria literaria del escritor mexicano y marca su inicio en el ge´nero de la novela que culminara´ con el Tri´ptico del carnaval, de corte sati´rico y paro´dico, el cual se vislumbra ya desde esta obra.

The objective of this work was propose antisolvent-dialysis as a new, easy, one-step and reproduciblemethod for obtaining white zein micro- and nanoparticlespowder. Firstly, the study by SEM of white zein powderpredicted micro- and nanoparticles with spherical morphologyand average diameters of 243.2 ± 94.5 nm fornanoparticles and 0.74 ± 0.2 lm for microparticles. UV–Vis predicted lower absorbance of 250–500 nm for whitezein powder compared to commercial yellow zein powder. FT-IR showed shifting of the main bands to the right, dueto changes in particle-shaped microstructure that acquireswhite zein powder compared to yellow zein powder. InTGA white zein powder showed a decomposition rangefrom 214 to 400 C, while yellow zein powder from 240 to400 C. Therefore, antisolvent-dialysis is new method toobtain white zein micro- and nanoparticles with potentialapplications such as polymer matrix and white naturalcoloring.

The Special Jurisdiction for Peace was the judicial mechanism chosen by the negotiating parties in Havana to overcome the Colombian armed conflict that lasted for more than five decades and split this country into violence. The universalist nature of this peace accord, and the open structure of the Colombian Constitution, compel the judges and the prosecutors of this special jurisdiction to apply international law on a regular base. This Transitional Jurisdiction relates to international law in the same way that most hybrid criminal tribunals do, and binds the domestic application of the law to the universal values of human rights. The unique legal nature of the SJP forces us to rethink the rigidity of the traditional system of law to favor a more dynamic and pluralist understanding of justice, often framed as postnational. This research highlights the necessity to understand the hermeneutics of transitional justice beyond the context of State sovereignty, and from the broader vision of the progressive internationalization of constitutional law.

This article describes the instruments and experimental tasks used in exploratory tests carried out by the PACTE Group. These tests were undertaken preparatory to the final experiment designed to determine the nature of Translation Competence in written translation-the first phase of a two-phase project designed to investigate the Acquisition of Translation Competence in written translation. A general overview of the characteristics of the research project is given, followed by a description of the aims and objectives of the exploratory tests, the experimental tasks and the instruments used. Some conclusions resulting from these tests are presented.

<P>ABSTRACT</P><P>We present the results of a three-continent multisite photometric campaign carried out on the Algol-type eclipsing binary system Y Cam, in which the primary component is a multiperiodic δ Sct-type pulsator. The observations consist of 86 nights and more than 450 h of useful data collected mainly during the Northern winter 2002–2003. This means that this is the most extensive time series for such kind of systems obtained so far. These observations were collected mostly in the Johnson V filter, but they also include, for the first time, nearly complete binary light curves in simultaneous Strömgren <I>uvby</I> filters together with a few Crawford Hβ data obtained around the orbital phase of the first quadrature. A detailed photometric analysis is presented for both binarity and pulsation. The results indicate a semidetached system with the secondary filling its Roche lobe. No significant contribution from a third body is found. The residuals from the computed binary solution were then used to investigate the pulsational content of the primary component. The frequency analysis of the out-of-primary-eclipse data leads to a set of eight significant and independent pulsational peaks in a well-defined region of the frequency domain. This means that this is the largest set of excited modes discovered so far in the pulsating component of such kind of systems. The possibility of aliasing problems during the present run or short-term time-scale amplitude variations in some of them was investigated with null results. Indeed the results indicate that <I>f</I><SUB>1</SUB> and <I>f</I><SUB>3</SUB> form a frequency doublet with a beat period of <I>P</I><SUB>beat</SUB>= 17.065 d. Our results confirm the frequencies already detected by earlier authors and show the presence of some additional significant peaks. The observed amplitudes during the present run are also consistent with those derived from older data sets. We perform a preliminary mode identification for most of the frequencies on the basis of the collected multicolour photometry, the observed frequency spacings and the mode visibility in eclipsing binaries.</P>

<P>Antifungal silver nanocomposites inspired by titanate nanotubes (AgTNTs) were successfully evaluated for the effective inactivation of the phytopathogenic fungus Botrytis cinerea within 20 min. One-dimensional H2Ti3O7 nanotubes functionalized with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) exhibit unique surface and antifungal properties for the photoinactivation of B. cinerea. Nanostructured titanates were synthesized by the eco-friendly, practical, microwave-induced, hydrothermal method followed by a highly monodispersive AgNP UV-photo deposition. Protonated nanotubes of similar to 11 nm in diameter and four-layers displayed high surface areas, 300 m(2)/g, with a size functionalization of 5 nm for the AgNPs. UV-vis DRS and XPS allowed the characterization and/or quantification of surface reactive species and cytotoxic silver species such as Ag degrees, Ag+. The effective biocidal properties of the nanocomposites were confirmed by using the well-known Gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli, and then proceeding to the effective inactivation of the phytopathogenic fungus under visible light. The photo assisted inactivation mechanism was examined by HAADF-STEM, HRTEM, and FESEM electronic microscopies. A plasmalemma invagination due to oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen, silver cytotoxicity species, and AgTNT sharp morphology damage expands the conidia to induce the cell death. The impact of the eco-friendly inactivation is significant because of the ease with which it is carried out and the possibility of being performed in situ with plants like tomato and grapes, which are ranked among the most valuable agricultural products worldwide.</P>
Simply Connected Minimal Surfaces with Finite Total Curvature in ℍ<sup>2</sup> × ℝ

<P>Laurent Hauswirth and Harold Rosenberg developed in [5] the theory of minimal surfaces with finite total curvature in [Formula]. They showed that the total curvature of one such surface must be a nonnegative integer multiple of −2<I>π</I>. The first examples appearing in this context are vertical geodesic planes and Scherk minimal graphs over ideal polygonal domains. Other nonsimply connected examples have been constructed recently in [9, 12, 17]. In this paper, we show that the only complete minimal surfaces in [Formula] of total curvature −2<I>π</I> are Scherk minimal graphs over ideal quadrilaterals. We also construct properly embedded simply connected minimal surfaces with total curvature −4<I>kπ</I>, for any integer <I>k</I>≥1, which are not Scherk minimal graphs over ideal polygonal domains.</P>
