Compact Wideband Open-End Slot Antenna With Inherent Matching

<P>A compact wideband open-end slot antenna is proposed for DCS, PCS, UMTS, WLAN, and WiMAX band applications. The antenna is composed of an open-ended slot and a central line within the slot. The open-end slot decreases the antenna size in half, compared to a conventional slot-ring antenna. Furthermore, the narrowed slot and central line miniaturize the antenna and obtain wideband performance using the inherent impedance-matching network of the central line. The proposed antenna obtained an omnidirectional radiation pattern with an antenna gain of larger than 1 dBi and an antenna efficiency of greater than 50% over 1710-3660 MHz.</P>

Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the Korea. It is eager to find a method for preventing and curing colorectal cancer. The tumor-associated antigen GA733 is a cell surface glycoprotein highly expressed in colorectal carcinoma. In this study, GA733 was fused to Fc fragment of human IgG as a vaccine candidate in plant expression system. The fusion protein GA733-Fc can improve their expression in plant cells and induce cellular and humoral immune responses. GA733-Fc is glycosylated, however the N-glycan structures of plant-derived GA733-Fc differ from their parental counterparts. Plant-derived specific N-glycoforms have the potential to induce immunogenicity and allergenic responses in human therapy. Thus, oligomannose glycan structure was tried to be generated through retaining GA733-Fc and GA733 in ER with KDEL sequence. Agrobacterium-mediated transformation was conducted to generate transgenic plant expressing GA733-Fc and GA733. Recombinant protein expression, accumulation and biological activity of GA733-Fc with KDEL (GA733-FcK), GA733-Fc without KDEL (GA733-Fc), and GA733 with KDEL (GA733K) in transgenic plants were compared by western blot, confocal immunofluorescence analysis, ELISA and mouse immunization, respectively.

Significant evidence supports the role of the vestibular system in the regulation of blood pressure during postural movements. In the present study, the role of the vestibulo-spino-adrenal (VSA) axis in the modulation of blood pressure via the vestibulosympathetic reflex was clarified by immunohistochemical and enzyme immunoassay methods in conscious rats with sinoaortic denervation. Expression of c-Fos protein in the intermediolateral cell column of the middle thoracic spinal regions and blood epinephrine levels were investigated, following microinjection of glutamate receptor agonists or antagonists into the medial vestibular nucleus (MVN) and/or sodium nitroprusside (SNP)-induced hypotension. Both microinjection of glutamate receptor agonists (NMDA and AMPA) into the MVN or rostral ventrolateral medullary nucleus (RVLM) and SNP-induced hypotension led to increased number of c-Fos positive neurons in the intermediolateral cell column of the middle thoracic spinal regions and increased blood epinephrine levels. Pretreatment with microinjection of glutamate receptor antagonists (MK-801 and CNQX) into the MVN or RVLM prevented the increased number of c-Fos positive neurons resulting from SNP-induced hypotension, and reversed the increased blood epinephrine levels. These results indicate that the VSA axis may be a key component of the pathway used by the vestibulosympathetic reflex to maintain blood pressure during postural movements.
Small Internal Antenna Using Multiband, Wideband, and High-Isolation MIMO Techniques

In this paper, a small internal antenna for a mobile handset is presented using multiband, wideband, and high-isolation multiple-input multiple-output techniques. The proposed antenna consists of three planar inverted-F antennas (PIFAs) that operate in the global system for mobile communication (GSM900), the digital communication system (DCS), the personal communication system (PCS), the universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS), and wireless local area network (WLAN) bands with a physical size of 40 mm × 10 mm × 10 mm. A resonator attached to the folded PIFA creates dual resonances, achieving a wide bandwidth of approximately 460 MHz, covering the DCS, PCS, and UMTS bands; a meander shorting line is used to improve impedance matching. Additionally, a modified neutralization link is embedded between diversity antennas to enhance isolation, which results in a 6-dB improvement in the isolation and less than 0.1 in the envelope correlation coefficient evaluated from the far-field radiation patterns. Simulation and measurements demonstrate very similar results for S-parameters and radiation patterns. Peak gains show 3.73 dBi, 3.77 dBi, 3.28 dBi, 2.15 dBi, and 5.86 dBi, and antenna efficiencies show 56.15%, 72.15%, 68.59%, 52.92%, and 82.93% for GSM900, DCS, PCS, UMTS, and WLAN bands, respectively.

본 연구는 중국 베이징에 있는 노동조합이 결성되어 있는 제조업체의 조합원 420명을 대상으로 노사관계 행위 주체의 역할 특성이 협력적 노사관계 분위기와 종업원들의 파업의향에 미치는 영향을 구조방정식 모형(Structural equation modeling: SEM)을 이용하여 그 효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 종업원들이 노조와의 정보공유, 분배적 공정성과 절차적 공정성, 통합적 협상과 노조수단성, 의사결정참가 정도를 높게 지각할수록 협력적 노사관계 분위기가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 종업원들이 노조와 정보공유, 분배적 공정성, 절차적 공정성, 통합적 협상, 그리고 의사결정참가 정도를 높게 지각할수록 파업의향은 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 협력적 노사관계 분위기는 파업의향에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 노사협력에 관한 실무적 시사점과 향후 연구에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다. In this study, the effect of industrial relations actors' role characteristics on cooperative Industrial relations(IR) climate and strike intention is investigated for 420 employees of Chinese manufacturers located in Beijing, China. Using a structural equation modeling (SEM). it is found that, firstly, the Chinese workers perceived more cooperative IR climate when the employees have higher perception about information sharing amongst union and employers, distributive justice and procedural justice, integrative bargaining, union instrumentality, and participation in decision making. Secondly, strike intention is low when the employees have higher perception about information sharing with union, distributive justice, procedural justice, integrative bargaining, and participation in decision making. Thirdly, we could not find evidence that cooperative IR decreases the strike intention of the employees. This part is left for further investigation whether there are any particular mechanism with Chinese workers. Furthermore, the implications for practice and future research are discussed.

本研究以长春市制造业4家公司的286名员工为有效样本, 探讨了情绪智力对工作压力和工作倦怠的影响的问题。研究在理论背景的基础上提出了研究假设和研究模型, 然后采用了结构方程建模(structural equation modeling: SEM)的方法, 验证了事先提出的研究假设。结果表明, 组织成员的情绪智力对工作压力有着显著负面影响, 对工作倦怠的两个维度(消极怠慢和成就感低落)有着显著负面影响, 工作压力对工作倦怠的三个维度(情绪衰竭、消极怠慢和成就赶低落)有着显著正面影响。从而得知, 工作压力在情绪智力和情绪衰竭的关系中起到完全中介效应;在情绪智力和工作倦怠的两个维度(消极怠慢和成就感低落)的关系中起到部分中介效应。 This study is based on empirical study includes 226 organization middle managements of 5 manufacturing companies in Chang Chun, China. This study performs experimental examination of the effect of Emotional Intelligence on the Job Stress and Job Burn-out. Based on theories’ background, this paper developed the study model and framed hypothesis. The data is analyzed by using structural equation modeling(SEM). The results showed that Job stress was a full mediator of the relationship between emotional intelligence and job burnout whereas Job stress partially mediated the relationship of emotional intelligence with cynicism and reduced personal accomplishment. This implied that the mechanism of the effects of emotional intelligence on emotional exhaustion was different from that of the influence of emotional intelligence on cynicism and reduced personal accomplishment.
The Development of Hanok Ondol(Korean Floor Heating System) Technology and Its Future

In Hanoks which are Korean traditional houses, gudeuls (ondols) are more important than other elements. Recently, demand for Hanoks has been rapidly increasing thanks to the effects of Korean waves and rediscovery of traditions. This paper traced the process of development of gudeul construction technology to examine the definitions of terns and changes in the types of gudeuls and discussed the prospect of future gudeul construction technology.
