        Cutting Parameter Optimization for Reducing Carbon Emissions Using Digital Twin

        With the exacerbation of global environmental concerns, manufacturing industries need to consider the impact of carbon emissions from manufacturing processes. The selection of the parameters in the machining process greatly influences on carbon emissions and machining efficiency. Hence dynamically optimizing the machining process parameters is a significant means to reduce carbon emissions according to the real-time perception of the machining conditions. In the paper, a method of cutting parameter optimization is presented on basis of the construction the digital twin of a CNC machine tool. In this method, an ontology on CNC machining process is established to be used as a communication bridge for understanding the semantic of the real-time interaction between the physical machine and the virtual twin. And a dynamic optimization method on cutting parameters is presented according to the simulation and optimization of the virtual twin with the dynamic perception of the machining conditions of the physical machine. At last, a case study is presented to validate this method for effectively optimizing the cutting parameters and decreasing carbon emissions.

        In this paper, we study the global stability and the existence of almost periodic solution of high-order Hopfield neural networks with distributed delays of neutral type. Some sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of almost periodic solution by employing fixed point theorem and differential inequality techniques. An example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method and results.

        Transcriptional profiling analysis of OsDT11-mediated ABA-dependent signal pathway for drought tolerance in rice

        Small cysteine-rich peptides (CRPs) are important in plant responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. OsDT11, encoding an 88 amino acid CRP-type protein, has been reported to enhance tolerance to drought in rice (Oryza sativa L.) without negatively afecting other agronomic traits. However, the molecular mechanisms of OsDT11-mediated drought tolerance are still unclear. Here, we performed RNA-Seq analysis to compare the transcriptome profles between wild-type (WT) and OsDT11-overexpressing (OE) rice lines under drought stress or under control (non-drought) conditions. A total of 1570 and 1421 diferentially expressed genes were identifed in the OE lines and the WT under drought treatment, respectively, compared to non-drought conditions. Gene ontology analysis indicated that the 430 up-regulated genes in common to both OE and the WT lines were induced for functions related to responses to water deprivation and to abscisic acid (ABA). More than half of these genes had higher expression in the OE than in the WT under drought stress. In the OE, but not in the WT, 294 genes were specifcally up-regulated under drought stress and were functionally enriched in starch and sucrose biosyn�thetic processes and in response to stress. This implies that OsDT11 not only triggers strongly response to drought stress, but also alters several metabolic processes to enhance drought tolerance. Gene expression profling suggests that OsDT11 confers drought tolerance by mediating an enhanced response to drought stress in an ABA-dependent signaling pathways.

        조직지원인식과 사회적 편견이 중국 호텔 인턴의 지속여부에 미치는 영향 연구

        This study studies the extent of the impact of organizational support awareness and social prejudice on intern continuity, whether job engagement and psychological capital can mediate the relationship between organizational support awareness and social prejudice and substantiality. To achieve research objectives, first, understand job loyalty of hotel interns through internal and external analysis and empirical research, and explore the impact structure of internal factors (organizational support recognition), organizational external factors (social prejudice), intern's job fever, psychological capital mediating role. Second, we explore the concept of social prejudice felt by hotel interns and develop and validate measures of social prejudice felt by hotel interns. Third, through literature examination, conceptual definition, conceptual relationship model building and organizational support recognition, social prejudice, job engagement, psychological capital, and substantiality, we define each concept and provide a frame for positivism studies. Through these research purposes, we would like to provide a theoretical basis for building structural relationships of influences on whether hotel interns are sustainable or not, and to present revelations in establishing improvement measures in hotels.

      • The Media Literacy of Residents in Southwestern China During the COVID-19 Epidemic

        Objective To measure residents’ abilities to acquire, analyze and evaluate information on media in southwestern China and to explore its predictive factors. Methods The convenience sampling method was used. A web-based questionnaire survey was conducted among 774 residents during the Spring Festival in 2020. Results Young, highly educated, unmarried, high-income, and urban residents preferred to seek and acquire information about COVID-19 epidemic through new media channels. Elderly residents tended to obtain information through television. Residents with low educational background and rural residents were more dependent on community information media. To analyze residents’ abilities in the judgement of 15 statements about COVID-19, residents with a master’s degree or above (OR = 2.755, [95% CI 1.160-6.542]) had better media literacy in identifying false health information released on social networking. Rural residents (OR = 0.609, [95% CI 0.433-0.855]) had lower media literacy. The total score decreased by 2.6% for every one-year increase of age. Conclusion Residents’ abilities to acquire, analyze and evaluate information were affected by their demographic characteristics in southwestern China. The authorities and local communities should develop different approaches of information dissemination, with the help of traditional and new media. It is important to improve the level of residents' media literacy, in order to achieve better effect in information dissemination and reception.

        Direct Electrochemistry and Electrocatalysis of Myoglobin with CoMoO<sub>4</sub> Nanorods Modified Carbon Ionic Liquid Electrode

        By using ionic liquid 1-hexylpyridinium hexafluorophosphate ($HPPF_6$) based carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE) as the substrate electrode, a $CoMoO_4$ nanorods and myoglobin (Mb) composite was casted on the surface of CILE with chitosan (CTS) as the film forming material to obtain the modified electrode (CTS/$CoMoO_4$-Mb/CILE). Spectroscopic results indicated that Mb retained its native structures without any conformational changes after mixed with $CoMoO_4$ nanorods and CTS. Electrochemical behaviors of Mb on the electrode were carefully investigated by cyclic voltammetry with a pair of well-defined redox peaks from the heme Fe(III)/Fe(II) redox center of Mb appeared, which indicated that direct electron transfer between Mb and CILE was realized. Electrochemical parameters such as the electron transfer number (n), charge transfer coefficient (${\alpha}$) and electron transfer rate constant ($k_s$) were estimated by cyclic voltammetry with the results as 1.09, 0.53 and 1.16 $s^{-1}$, respectively. The Mb modified electrode showed good electrocatalytic ability toward the reduction of trichloroacetic acid in the concentration range from 0.1 to 32.0 mmol $L^{-1}$ with the detection limit as 0.036 mmol $L^{-1}$ ($3{\sigma}$), and the reduction of $H_2O_2$ in the concentration range from 0.12 to 397.0 ${\mu}mol\;L^{-1}$ with the detection limit as 0.0426 ${\mu}mol\;L^{-1}$ ($3{\sigma}$).

        Sulforaphane Ameliorates Diabetes-Induced Renal Fibrosis through Epigenetic Up-Regulation of BMP-7

        Background: The dietary agent sulforaphane (SFN) has been reported to reduce diabetes-induced renal fibrosis, as well as inhibit histone deacetylase (HDAC) activity. Bone morphologic protein 7 (BMP-7) has been shown to reduce renal fibrosis induced by transforming growth factor-beta1. The aim of this study was to investigate the epigenetic effect of SFN on BMP-7 expression in diabetes-induced renal fibrosis.Methods: Streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice and age-matched controls were subcutaneously injected with SFN or vehicle for 4 months to measure the in vivo effects of SFN on the kidneys. The human renal proximal tubular (HK11) cell line was used to mimic diabetic conditions in vitro. HK11 cells were transfected to over-express HDAC2 and treated with high glucose/palmitate (HG/Pal) to explore the epigenetic modulation of BMP-7 in SFN-mediated protection against HG/Pal-induced renal fibrosis.Results: SFN significantly attenuated diabetes-induced renal fibrosis in vivo. Among all of the HDACs we detected, HDAC2 activity was markedly elevated in the STZ-induced diabetic kidneys and HG/Pal-treated HK11 cells. SFN inhibited the diabetes-induced increase in HDAC2 activity which was associated with histone acetylation and transcriptional activation of the BMP-7 promoter. HDAC2 over-expression reduced BMP-7 expression and abolished the SFN-mediated protection against HG/Pal-induced fibrosis in vitro.Conclusion: Our study demonstrates that the HDAC inhibitor SFN protects against diabetes-induced renal fibrosis through epigenetic up-regulation of BMP-7.

      • Correction: Robust MAVE for single‑index varying‑coefficient models

        In this paper, a robust, efficient and easily implemented estimation procedure for single-index varying-coefficient models is proposed by combining minimum average variance estimation (MAVE) with exponential squared loss. The merit of the proposed method is robust against outliers or heavy-tailed error distributions while asymptotically efficient as the original MAVE under the normal error case. A practical minorization–maximization algorithm is proposed for implementation. Under some regularity conditions, asymptotic distributions of the resulting estimators are derived. Simulation studies and a real data example are conducted to examine the finite sample performance of the proposed method. Both theoretical and empirical findings confirm that our proposed method works very well.
