Basic Research on BIM-Based Quantity Take-off Guidelines

Various types of building information should be linked to 3D model objects for their effective use by stakeholders. Because Building Information Modeling (BIM) based on 3D is used by different stakeholders, the created BIM need standard guidelines for each purpose, as, for example, for quantity take-off. Thus, this study was conducted to propose guidelines for BIM modeling for quantity take-off in the framework, especially, in the concrete and form. The proposed guidelines adopted each element of the BIM model based on an analysis of the problem of the general BIM model. Moreover, the usability and accuracy of the reinforced structure modeling guidelines were verified by comparing the quantity of the commercial estimation software and the modeling quantity using the proposed modeling guidelines.
In vitro Antifungal Activity of 4-Hydroxyderricin and Acetylshikonin against Ascosphaera apis

Honey bees are important pollinators in agriculture, but are threatened by the pathogen Ascosphaera apis , which causes chalkbrood. Despite attempts to control this fungus using synthetic fungicides, none of them have been proven to be completely effective. Among 640 natural compounds that we tested, 4-hydroxyderricin (MIC=3.125, 6.25 mg/L after 24 h and 48 h growth, respectively) exhibited the strongest anti- Ascosphaera apis activity, followed by acetylshikonin (MIC=12.5 mg/L for 24 h and 48 h growth). 4-Hydroxyderricin showed selective growth inhibition of Ascosphaera apis and Rhizopus oryzae among tested fungus strains. Treatment 4-hydroxyderricin with miconazole revealed a synergistic effect (FICI=0.65±0.13 at 48 h incubation). These findings suggest that 4-hydroxyderricin, which has antifungal activity against Ascosphaera apis but few other fungal species, can effectively control infectious fungal diseases. Combined treatment of bees with 4-hydroxyderricin and miconazole could reduce cytotoxicity and improve the cost effectiveness of treatment.

<P>The operation of chemical vapor-deposited (CVD) graphene field-effect transistors (GFETs) is highly sensitive to environmental factors such as the substrate, polymer residues, ambient condition, and other species adsorbed on the graphene surface due to their high defect density. As a result, CVD GFETs often exhibit a large hysteresis and time-dependent instability. These problems become a major roadblock in the systematic study of graphene devices. We report a facile process to alleviate these problems, which can be used to fabricate stable high performance CVD GFETs with symmetrical current-voltage (I-V) characteristics and an effective carrier mobility over 6000 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1). This process combined a few steps of processes in sequence including pre-annealing in a vacuum, depositing a passivation layer, and the final annealing in a vacuum, and eliminated 50% of charging sources primarily originating from water reduction reactions.</P>
