The purpose of this study was to develop early childhood science activities, which could be utilized as an extracurricular program in the day-care center. The program is based on the Constructivist theory(Piaget and Vygotsky) and the nation-wide survey data on the extracurricular programs and science activities in the day-care center. After the manuals for the program was monitored and corrected by the professionals, the application of each activities was empirically tested by the teachers in the day-care setting. The effects of the sample program(6 activities) were conducted using Tegano, Sawyers & Moran(1989)'s Scientific problem-solving scale and Lee(2001)'s Scientific attitude scale. Subject of thirty nine children were administered by the pre-test and post-test and experimental group participated the program for six weeks. The results showed that the program was effective for enhancement of scientific problem-solving ability and scientific attitude of young children in day-care setting.
유아과학교육의 목표와 교수방법 간의 일관성과 관련된 주요변인: 과학교수 효능감을 중심으로

This study investigated the general tendency of the day-care teachers’ awareness toward the goals and the teaching strategies in early childhood science education and identified the factors on them respectively. Also, day-care teachers of high self-efficacy about teaching science and those of low science teaching self-efficacy about teaching science were compared in terms of consistency of the goals and the teaching strategies in early childhood science education. One hundred and seventy six day-care teachers participated in the survey. The main results were as follows. 1) Day-care teachers, in general, perceived process-oriented goals more important than content-oriented goals in early science education. Interactive approach was the most popular, followed by knowledge-transmission approach. Activity-discovery approach was the least preferred by day-care teachers. 2) Personal and environmental factors were related to the day-care teachers’ awareness toward the goals and the teaching strategies in day-care settings respectively. 3) Day-care teachers who had high self-efficacy about teaching science and content-oriented goals in early childhood science education showed knowledge-transmission approach more preferred and interactive approach less. However, day-care teachers of high self-efficacy about teaching science did not have consistent goals and teaching strategies in early childhood science education.
보육시설의 조직건강과 보육교사의 스트레스 대처양식이 조직헌신에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 보육교사 개인의 인구사회학적 특성 및 스트레스 대처양식과 보육시설의 근무환경 특성 및 조직건강이 보육교사의 조직헌신을 예측하는가를 탐색하고자 했다. 연구결과 보육시설의 조직건강은 보육교사의 조직헌신을 설명하는 가장 강력한 예측인자로 나타났다. 결혼여부나 연령 등 보육교사의 개인적 특성과 설립유형이나 초과근무시간등 근무환경 역시 보육교사의 조직헌신에 대해 유의한 설명력이 있었으나 보육교사의 스트레스 대처양식은 조직헌신에 독자적인 설명력을 갖고 있지 않았다. 본 연구결과는 조직건강이 보육교사의 스트레스 대처양식을 포함한 개인적 특성이나 보육시설의 객관적 지표보다 보육의 질에 더 좋은 지표가 될 수 있음을 시사한다. This study was to investigate if childcare centers‘ organizational health and caregivers' stress-copying strategies predict caregivers' organizational commitment. A total of 238 caregivers in childcare centers were surveyed. According to the results, organizational health was the most powerful contributor of caregivers' organizational commitment. Several caregivers' characteristics and centers' working environment explained statistically meaningful amount of variance in caregivers’ organizational commitment. However, caregivers' stress-copying strategies did not have unique contributions to their organizational commitment in hierarchical regressions.
영아 및 부모 특성과 12개월 영아의 발달적 특성 관계 연구

본 연구에서는 12개월 영아의 의사소통, 문제해결, 사회적 기술 등 영아발달의 일반적인 경향과 관련 변인을 밝히고자 ASQ로 영아의 발달을 측정하고, 영아의 기질, 어머니의 양육신념, 아버지의 양육분담 등을 조사하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 전반적으로 만 12개월 영아는 다른 영역에 비해 문제해결 영역에서 가장 높은 점수를 보였으며, 문항별 수행은 대체로 ASQ에서 제시한 난이도 순서를 따르고 있었으나 몇몇 문항에서 예외가 발견되었다. 둘째, ASQ의 몇몇 문항에서 성차가 나타났으며, 발달 영역 간에는 비교적 높은 상관이 있었으나 남아의 경우 문제해결과 사회적 기술 간에는 유의한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 영아의 발달과 관련된 변인은 발달영역별로 차이가 있었으나 영아의 성별과 기질, 어머니의 학력과 아버지의 양육분담 등이 주요 변인으로 발견되었다. The purpose of this study was to investigate infants-communication, problem-solving and social skills at the age of 12 month. One hundred ten infants of 12 month old participated in the study. The results were as follows. First, the infants obtained much higher score on problem-solving area than on communication area or on social skill area. Second, there were relatively high correlation between developmental areas except a boy`s problem solving and social development area. Third, an infant`s sex and temperament, mother`s education and father`s participation of child-rearing were significantly related with communication, problem-solving and social development.
