본고는 조선시대 한라산을 올랐던 제주목사와 관리 및 유생들의 유산기록 총 13편을 토대로 한라산 등람여정과 등람관행, 그리고 한라산 정상부에 존재하는 자연경관과 역사문화경관에 대해 분석했다. 분석 대상으로 삼은 유산관련 사료들은 제주도민이 아닌 제주에 부임해 온 관료들이나 제주도에 유배해왔던 문사들의 기록이 대부분이며, 제주 도민이 직접 저술한 사료는 1편에 불과했다. 16세기 유산기 문헌으로는 임제의 기록이 있으며, 17세기 문헌으로는 김상헌과 김치, 이증, 김성구, 이익태의 유산기 등 5편이다. 18세기 문헌으로는 이형상과 이해조, 조관빈의 기록 등 3편이며, 19세기에는 윤제홍의 그림과 이원조, 최익현, 김희정의 유산기록 4편이다. 한라산 등람여정과 등람관행을 살펴보면, 등람동기로 가장 많은 부분을 차지했던 것이 산수유람이었으며, 그 다음으로 한라산신제 제관으로서의 산행, 자연풍물에 대한 체험과 기록을 위한 산행으로 나눌 수 있다. This paper has attempted to analyze the historical and cultural scenic landscapes as wel l as the natural heritage that exists at the summit along with the records of climbing jour neys based on a total of 13 heritage records written during the sojourn of the Jeju Gover nor, administrators and scholars on their hike up to Halla Mountain. The related historical records that have come under scrutiny are mostly records written by literary scholars wh o had been exiled to Jeju or government appointed officials and not the Jeju people. Only one record exists that was written directly by a Jeju resident. A literary record about cli mbing in the 16th Century written by Yim Jae exists to this day, while 5 records written about the pleasures of hiking by Kim Sang-heon, Kim Chi, Yi Jeung, Kim Sung-gu and Y i Yick-tae in the 17th Century has been passed down. As for the 18th Century, 3 such r ecords exist by Yi Hyeong-sang, Yi Hae-jo, and Jo Kwan-bin while in the 19th Century, a total of 4 records exist which includes a painting by Yoon Jae-hong, and 3 other recor ds written by Yi Won-jo, Choi Yick-hyeon and Kim Hee-jung can be seen.

Proximate chemical components (protein, oil, carbohydrate, ash, fiber, and starch) were determined from tubers grown in upland and wetland conditions. The contents of crude protein, oil, carbohydrate, and starch were higher in upland condition than in wetland condition. Eight gibberellins were commonly identified and quantified in leaves and tuber of chufa grown in wetland and upland field during growing season. Gibberellin content was always higher specifically in the leaves and tubers grown in wetland condition than in those grown in upland condition. The current knowledge of gibberellin biosynthesis suggests that the two endogenous bio-active gibberellins both GA1 and GA4 are differently metabolized according to cultural conditions. Major gibberellin biosynthesis route is ascertained dominantly the non C-13 hydroxylation pathway leading GA4 in chufa plants.

Barium titanate nanoparticles were synthesized under N$_2$ atmosphere by the hydrolysis and condensation of barium hydroxide octahydrate and titanium (IV) isopropoxide. The synthesized particles were aggregates of nanosized primary particles. The primary particles of about 20-50 nm in diameter became building blocks of larger secondary particles, which are in most cases spherical in shape. The size and morphological evolution of secondary particles are strongly related to the precursor concentration. The observations suggest that formation and control of secondary particles is an essential step in the alkoxidehydroxide sol-precipitation process to obtain monodispersed barium titanate nanopowders.
Characterization of Physicochemical Properties of Starch in Barley Irradiated with Proton Beam

The study was carried out to determine the gel pasting properties of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Geoncheonheugbori) as affected by different proton beam irradiation. The λmax, blue value, and amylose content were significantly associated with increasing proton beam irradiation. The pasting time in barley flour irradiated with proton beam ranged 0.09 to 0.16 min shorter than nonirradiated barley flour. Gel pasting temperature ranged 57.4 to 60.5℃. Gel pasting temperature in barley flour decreased with increasing proton beam irradiation. Proton beam irradiation caused a significant decrease in the onset temperature (To), peak temperature (Tp), conclusion temperature (Tc) and enthalpy change (ΔH). Gelatinization range (R) in barley starch was more broaden than that of non-irradiated barley starch. Barley starches gave the strong diffraction peak at around 2θ values15°, 18°, 20°, and 23° 2θ. Peak intensity tended to increase with increased proton beam irradiation. The granule crystallinity is closely associated with decreased amylose and increased amylopectin component. The crystallinity degree of barley starch irradiated with proton beam was significantly increased and it ranged from 24.9 to 32.9% compared to the non-irradiated barley starches. It might be deduced that proton beam irradiation causes significant changes of properties of starch viscosity in rice, especially at high irradiation of proton beam.

The study was carried out to evaluate the affect of proton beam radiation on production of bulbil and tuber including change of endogenous gibberellins, of Dioscorea opposita Thunb. The yield of bulbils and tubers from non- and irradiated D. opposita Thunb at doses of 5, 10, 15 and 20 Gy were determined. Endogenous gibberellins were also quantified by GC/MS analysis. D. opposita tubers irradiated at 15 Gy produced higher bulbil production than non-irradiated plants. Enlarged bulbil (above size diameter 4 mm) was significantly increased at 15 Gy. Bioactive endogenous GA4 was dominant in bulbils and tubers irradiated with proton beam rather than GA1 . Major gibberellins biosynthetic pathways in bulbils and tubers of D. opposita plants were non C-13 hydroxylation route. From the results of this study, 15 Gy proton beam radiation was suggested as an optimal dose that can produce high amounts of bulbil for mass production of D. opposita plant.
