Comparative Analysis of Cutaneous Fungi in Atopic Dermatitis Patients and Healthy Individuals

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disease triggered by diverse factors. Microbes are one of the crucial risk factors for AD development or exacerbation. However, the effect of a fungal burden on AD has been overlooked compared to bacteria. Objective: This study aimed to comparatively analyze cutaneous fungal distribution between AD patients and healthy individuals by polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based analysis. Methods: Skin samples of AD outpatients and healthy individuals collected at the Chung-Ang University were analyzed. Representative AD-associated fungal genera, Candida, dermatophytes, and Malassezia, were analyzed using specific primer and amplification methods. Amplicons were sequenced, and the fungal distribution of both groups were compared. Results: Totally, 211 patients and 23 healthy individuals were studied. Of the 211 patients, 10.90% (23/211) had Candida species, whereas 0% (0/23) healthy individuals showed its presence. The most frequently detected species in patients was Candida albicans (5.21%) followed by Candida parapsilosis (3.79%). For dermatophytes, 1.42% (3/211) of patients showed positive results, whereas 0% (0/23) healthy individuals showed positive results. Malassezia species were identified in 20.85% (44/211) and 8.70% (2/23) in patients and healthy individuals, respectively. Malassezia restricta was the most frequently identified species in the AD patient group, and the only species found in the healthy control group. Conclusion: The distribution of Candida spp., dermatophytes, and Malassezia spp. are altered with AD development.
단자대 및 전선 접속부의 불완전 접촉에 따른 아산화동 증식발열에 관한 실험적 연구

본 논문은 단자대 및 전선 접속부의 불완전 접촉에 의한 아산화동 증식발열에 관한 실험적 연구이다. 아산화동 증식 특성의경우 공급 전류가 증가할수록 증식속도가 가속되어 아산화동 생성물의 크기가 증대되었다. 전선과 단자대의 접촉불량에 따른진동 세기 별 온도특성은 진동의 횟수가 빠를수록 모든 조건에서 용융, 탄화, 아산화동 발생시간이 빠르게 나타났고 1.5 sq 절연전선의 경우 700 rpm, 900 rpm조건에서 접촉불량에 따른 아크에 의한 화염이 발생된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 세부적으로성분분석을 통해 시료별 특성을 분석해본 결과 아산화동 증식 절연전선의 경우 Cu성분이 증가한 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 합선에 의한 단락된 절연전선의 경우 Cu성분이 현저히 저하되어 뚜렷한 차이점이 나타났다. This paper presents an experimental study on the proliferative exotherm of copper oxide caused by incomplete contact between the terminal blocks and wire connections. The growth characteristics of copper oxide revealed that the growth rate and size of the copper oxide product increased with an increase in the current supply. As for the temperature characteristics by vibration intensity according to the contact failure between the wire and the terminal block, the faster the number of vibrations, the faster the melting, carbonization, and cuprous oxide generation times under all conditions. For the 1.5 sq. insulated wire, it was confirmed that the flame was generated due to the arc-to-contact mechanism at 700 rpm and 900 rpm. A detailed component analysis on the characteristics of each sample confirmed that the copper content increased in the copper-oxide-proliferated insulated wire. In contrast, the copper content was considerably low in the shorted insulated wire.

<P>A simple peptide based prodrug of camptothecin (CPT) has been synthesised in which the CPT is conjugated to a tripeptide (KCK) via a disulfide linkage (KCK-CPT) and self-assembled into well-defined nanostructures in water depending on the concentration. The hyaluronic acid (HA) complex of KCK-CPT exhibited target specific toxicity with excellent antitumour efficiency.</P>
