Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia(CEP) is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by chronic infiltration of the lung with eosinophils. It presents with profound systemic symptoms comprising fever, night sweats, weight loss, dyspnea and blood eosinophilia with nonsegmental air-space consolidation confined to the outer third of the lung, the "photographic negative of pulmonary edema". Histopathologic features of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia are intraalveolar and interstitial infiltrations with eosinophils, histiocytes, giant cells, scattered lymphocytes and plasma cells. Glucocorticoid therapy cause prompt resolution of symptoms as well as disappearans of blood eosinophils, elevated serum Ig E levels and the roentgenographic lesions. Infrequent radiographic findings include nodular infiltrates, consolidations, cavitations, atelectasis and pleural effusions. Deaths from CEP although rare, have been reported, but the majorities of CEP have benign courses and do not need a therapy with ventilator. We report a case of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia, which had a sudden course associated with diffuse pneumonic consolidations on the both lung and bilateral pleural effusion.
Diagnostic Ex-Vivo Assay of glucose Using Diabetic-Control Circuits

For ex-vivo diabetic control, the voltammetric diagnosis of glucose (GU) was conducted with a modified carbon nanotube paste electrode, using handheld analytical circuits. The optimum analytical conditions were attained within the 0.5-4.0 ug/L working range and at the 0.06 ug/L detection limit, which system was interfaced to the feedback circuits and was applied to human urine for diabetic-patient diagnosis. It can be used for ex-vivo flow control analysis, vascular flow detection and other medicinal assays. The equations of the patients’ urine are y=36.65x+12.13 and R²=0.987, those of the healthy person of y= 2.5x+10.9 and R²=0.928 (patients: 118 ug/L; healthy person: 12.34 ug/L).

A voltammetric investigation of Au assay was conducted at a low cost, using Nafion and DNA immobilized on a graphite Pencil working electrode (NDP) with a black lead counter and reference. The following optimal parameters were found: 0.4 V amplitude, 500 Hz frequency, -0.7 V initial potential, and 0.015 V increment potential. These optimal conditions were also applied to sand obtained from the river site. The aforementioned technique is simpler and less costly compared to the common voltammetry and spectrophotometric methods.

We report the calibration factors of Differential Thermal Analysis Apparatus for the determination of heat of reaction by means of "micro-packing technique", and kinetic parameters, such as activation energy of reaction (E) and order of reaction(n), for the decomposition of sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, and calcium carbonate by the method we have developed, whereby both E and n can be directly obtained. The results indicate that the calibration factor versus temperature is linear, and kinetic parameters agree very well with the data obtained by the dynamic thermogravimetric analysis method.

A "delta" method for two DTA traces of the same material at two different heating-rates and at any particular temperature, unlike the previous work, was developed whereby both activation energy (E) and reaction order (n) could be directly obtained. The values of E and n resulted from this method were compared with those obtained in the previous work and by the dynamic TGA method.

<P>Conventional asphalt concrete is relatively low conductive. This paper focus on the improvement of thermal properties of asphalt mixtures using conductive fillers, and investigating the conduction performance by two-dimensional (2D) simulation. Also, the microstructure of asphalt mixture was analyzed with extremely high magnification to observe the distribution of conductive fillers in the mixture. Indirect tensile (IDT) strength was additionally investigated. Different asphalt mixtures used in this study was modified with milled carbon fiber, chopped carbon fiber, and graphite powder. The study also evaluated the effect of mixed fillers combined carbon fiber with varying admixtures of graphite contents. The thermal properties of modified asphalt mixtures were measured and calculated to evaluate their conduction effects to obtain the appropriate kind and quantity of carbon fibers and graphite. Based on the results of thermal properties of the asphalt mixtures, the 2D simulation was performed on a typical pavement design using the finite element method to comprehend the conduction performance taking place in pavement structure. The IDT test was conducted to compare the IDT strength of asphalt mixture modified with carbon fiber and others. Microstructure analysis was conducted on scanning election microscopy (SEM) images of the fractured surface of specimens. Thermal testing and analysis results indicated that carbon fibers and graphite basically increase the thermal properties of asphalt mixtures. The combination of mixed fillers provided certain advantages over single graphite or carbon fiber filler. The simulation results presented the reasonable and reliable heat conduction correlated with each conductive filler. The IDT test inferred that the tensile strength of asphalt mixture was enhanced with an addition of certain amounts of the chopped carbon fiber. According to microanalysis, graphite particles show the formation of conductive clusters throughout the asphalt mixture, whereas carbon fibers show a long-range connecting effect. 근래의 데이타베이스 관리 시스템에서는 다중 사용자를 지원하기 위한 클라이언트/서버 모델이 점차 보편화되어 가고 있다. 일반적으로 객체 지향형 데이타베이스 관리 시스템에서는 이중의 버퍼 구조를 가지게 되고 이 이중 버퍼를 어떻게 유지하는가에 따라 여러가지 클라이언트/서버 구조가 나타날 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 객체 지향형 데이타베이스 관리 시스템이 가지는 이중 버퍼에 따른 문제점에 대해 논하고 이 버퍼를 클라이언트/서버 간에 어떻게 유지할 수 있는가에 대해 살펴 본 후, 현재 구현 중인 데이타베이스 관리 시스템의 전체적인 구조와 이 시스템이 채택하고 있는 클라이언트/서버 구조의 특징에 대해 기술한다.
