Environmental issues are increasingly getting concern in recent years and various environmental strategies are implemented in building level and city level. Green building or high performance building strategies is getting to be popular and enhanced in many cities today. The effect of wide spreading green buildings at the city level, however, is not clear from findings obtained from the perspective of individual buildings. In studying and planning effective building policies and measures, it is important to also consider the characteristics of cities and their infrastructures condition. In this light, we carried out case studies and quantified the environmental load reduction and economic effects of environmental measures taken at the individual building level to elucidate their effects on the city level. From among the various parameters of environmental performance, this analysis focuses on water consumption in buildings and its effects on urban water and sewage systems as one of examples. In this study, Tokyo 23 Special Wards are selected as case study cities. For the Tokyo 23 Wards, the estimates confirm that improving the environmental performance of houses in terms of household water consumption by water conservation and other means has the effect of not only reducing water consumption but also of reducing energy consumption and $CO_2$ emissions in the operation and maintenance of the water and sewage facilities systems of the urban infrastructure.

会社分割と債権者(Corporate Divestiture and Creditor)

In Japan, there are many troubles about the corporate divestiture (division of the company) recently, because the Japanese system of the corporate divestiture is not perfect. In the article of 789-1-2 and 810-1-2 of the Japanese company law, the creditor, who can claim their credit to the divided company, can’t object about the division of the company. Because the divided company can gain the quid pro quo from the new company, which equals the transferred assets. But, for practical purposes, they can’t gain it in many cases. About this problem, many Japanese professors and many Japanese courts think that they can use the article of the creditors’ power to avoid the fraudulent transfer (article. 424 of the Japanese civil law). But, I think that there are many theoretical problems in the use of this article for the fraudulent transfer. For example, can we use this article for ‘the organized act’? In my opinion, we should use the theory of ‘the piercing the veil of corporate entity’ or ‘lifting the veil of corporate entity’ in this case, and additionally, we should legislate special article for the guard of creditor in Japanese ‘company law’.

Si-gate MOS electron tunneling cathode was fabricated and its emission characteristics were examined. The emission occurred from an entire gate area by electron tunneling through the potential barrier in the MOS diode and was stable in the Si-gate diode. The energy distribution of emitted electrons was measured and was confirmed to be mainly determined by the scattering process of hot electrons in the oxide and gate. The emission current from the tunneling cathode was nearly independent of pressure.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We consider two-sided matching problems where agents on one side of the market (hospitals) are required to satisfy certain distributional constraints. We show that when the preferences and constraints of the hospitals can be represented by an M<SUP>♮</SUP>-concave function, (i) the generalized Deferred Acceptance (DA) mechanism is strategyproof for doctors, (ii) it produces the doctor-optimal stable matching, and (iii) its time complexity is proportional to the square of the number of possible contracts. Furthermore, we provide sufficient conditions under which the generalized DA mechanism satisfies these desirable properties. These conditions are applicable to various existing works and enable new applications as well, thereby providing a recipe for developing desirable mechanisms in practice.</P>

<P>Diagnosis of low-grade diffuse gliomas based on morphology is highly subjective and, therefore, is often difficult, with significant intra- and interobserver variability. Here, we investigated WHO grade II diffuse astrocytomas, oligoastrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas for immunohistochemical expression of Olig2, measuring its labeling index (LI), and evaluated the significance of Olig2 LI in the histological and molecular classifications. The means of Olig2 LI in glioma cells were 43.7 % in diffuse astrocytomas, 59.3 % in oligoastrocytomas and 76.1 % in oligodendrogliomas. There was a statistically significant difference between all pairs of histological types. The mean of Olig2 LI of gliomas with 1p/19q loss ± IDH1/2 mutation, the majority of them being oligodendrogliomas, was significantly higher than the means of those with TP53 mutation ± IDH1/2 mutation and IDH1/2 mutation only, the majority of which were diffuse astrocytomas (70.1 vs. 47.2 and 46.5 %, respectively). When categorized according to the classification of Jiao et al., Olig2 LI of I-CF gliomas (cases with IDH and one or more of CIC, FUBP1 or combined 1p/19q loss; mean 71.0 %) was significantly higher than that of I-A gliomas (cases with IDH and ATRX alterations; mean 45.3 %). These molecular classifications were reported to correlate well with clinical outcome. However, borderlines of Olig2 LI were broad and could not clearly distinguish genotypes in the molecular classifications. In conclusion, Olig2 LI cannot be taken as a complete surrogate marker for molecular genotype, but could possibly provide some ancillary information when molecular assay is not availabe.</P>
