The purpose of this study is to apply and experimentally verify the concept of the transmissibility on the vehicle system. In the study, the concept of transmissibility is applied to the vehicle cabin sound pressure and acceleration data at the knuckle of suspension. Furthermore, the systems’s transmissibility characteristics of the system are experimentally analyzed by replacing wheels and tires of a vehicle. It is also proved by the research that the transmissibility properties of the system does not change, although the input boundary of the system is changed. Additionally, the study suggests that transmissibility can be one of the parameters for evaluating the behavior of the system.

This study is about how to improve accuracy when Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) is applied to a multi-link vehicle suspension. TPA is generally employed to estimate road noise and NVH of a vehicle suspension. In this case, however, TPA has some spatial constraints on suspension system. To put it another way, there is no room for sensor attachment and excitation because of its compact structure. Therefore, the inaccurate setting of the sensor and excitation, which is potentially problematic, could not acquire high reliability on Frequency Response Function (FRF) with accuracy and consistence. To deal with the obstacles, the experiment was conducted by locating an accelerometer between linkages or arms and bushes, which connect them to a sub-frame, on the way of energy transfer from road vibration. Also, using TPA with the data on acceleration from the placement of accelerometer to the target at the mounting point of the sub-frame, this study compares the result of this new approach with that of the existing TPA and identifies its efficiency.
Extraction of Sizes and Velocities of Spray Droplets by Optical Imaging Method

In this study, an optical imaging method was developed for the measurements of the sizes and velocities of droplets in sprays. Double-exposure single-frame spray images were captured by the imaging system. An image processing program was developed for the measurements of the sizes and positions of individual particles including separation of the overlapped particles and particle tracking and pairing at two time instants. To recognize and separate overlapping particles, the morphological method based on watershed segmentation as well as separation using the perimeter and convex hull of image was used consecutively. Better results in separation were obtained by utilization of both methods especially for the multiple or heavily-overlapped particles. The match probability method was adopted for particle tracking and pairing after identifying the positions of individual particles and it produced good matching results even for large particles like droplets in sprays. Therefore, the developed optical imaging method could provide a reliable way of analyzing the motion and size distribution of droplets produced by various sprays and atomization devices.

세그먼테이션과 스타일 변환을 활용한 영상 재구성 시스템

기존 영상 콘텐츠에 새로운 물체를 삽입하는 등의 영상 재구성 기술은 새로운 게임, 가상현실, 증강현실 콘텐츠를 생성하거나 인공신경망 학습을 위한 데이터 증대를 위해 사용될 수 있다. 하지만, 기존 기술은 컴퓨터 그래픽스, 사람에 의한 수동적인 영상 편집에 의존하고 있어 금전적/시간적 비용이 높다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인공지능 신경망을 활용하여 낮은 비용으로 영상을 재구성하는 기술을 소개하고자 한다. 제안하는 방법은 기존 콘텐츠와 삽입하고자 하는 객체를 포함하는 영상이 주어졌을 때, 객체 세그먼테이션 네트워크를 활용하여 입력 영상에서 객체를 분리하고, 스타일 변환 네트워크를 활용하여 입력 영상을 스타일 변환한 후, 사용자 입력과 두 네트워크의 결과를 활용하여 기존 콘텐츠에 새로운 객체를 삽입하는 것이다. 실험에서는 기존 콘텐츠는 온라인 영상을 활용하였으며 삽입 객체를 포함한 영상은 ImageNet 영상 분류 데이터 세트를 활용하였다. 실험을 통해 제안한 방법을 활용하면 기존 콘텐츠와 잘 어우러지게끔 객체를 삽입할 수 있음을 보인다.
A Study on Sound Transmission Loss Measurement of Vehicle Components

The measurement method of Sound Transmission Loss (STL) both in the reverberation room and the semi-anechoic room at the vehicle component level is presented. The sound intensity method was used to measure the STL, and the Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) models were used to predict the acoustic performance of the system. Since the dash and the floor system mainly affect the NVH performance in the car compartment, the analysis process requires detailed SEA modeling and accurate measurement in these parts. The measured data was in good agreement with the predicted data obtained by using SEA model, and the results were helpful in determining the reliability of the measurement method and the SEA modeling.
