Progress on the Preparation of Ultra-pure Hydrogen Peroxide

        Guo-Yan Luan,Wei-Ping Gao,Ping-Jing Yao 한국공업화학회 2007 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.13 No.7

Progress on the preparation of ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide is reviewed. The technologies include distillation and relative technologies, combination methods of ion exchange and adsorption resin, membrane separation and relative technologies, crystallization, flocculation, and adding addition agents as so well. Distillation is reliable and easy to industrialize, while purity of hydrogen peroxide distilled is not high enough. Crystallization, flocculation, and adding addition agents can only be used as accessory technologies. It is safe for membrane separation, but the life of membrane is short. Ion exchange and adsorption resin processes are simple and the product purity is high, but ion exchange resin is easy to be oxidized. It is the tendency for the preparation of ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide that distillation is used firstly and then the combination of membrane separation technologies or ion exchange and adsorption resin processes are followed.

        Zhang, Lu-Ping,Liao, Xing-Yun,Xu, Yan-Mei,Yan, Lv-Jun,Yan, Gui-Fang,Wang, Xin-Xin,Duan, Yu-Zhong,Sun, Jian-Guo Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.7

Background: Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) are a heterogeneous group of tumors, and approximately 40-50% of patients with STS develop metastatic disease. The median overall survival of those patients was 12 months and their 5-year survival rate was 8%. Therefore, study on more effective treatment, especially the targeting therapies, is urgently needed. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Endostar$^{(R)}$ combined with chemotherapy in patients with advanced STS. Methods: A retrospective case-series study was conducted in Cancer Institute of PLA, Xinqiao Hospital. A total of 71 patients suffering from advanced STS (IIB - IV) were included, of whom 49 cases treated with chemotherapy alone were defined as the control group and the rest 22 cases treated with the traditional chemotherapy combined with Endostar$^{(R)}$ were defined as the test group. The short-term therapeutic effects including objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR) and safety were evaluated in the two groups. In the follow-up, progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were also observed. Results: In the test and control groups, the ORR was 18.2% and 12.2%, respectively (P=0.767), and the DCR was 86.4% and 61.2%, respectively (P=0.034). The median time to progression in the test and control groups was 120 days and 70 days with significant difference (P = 0.017), while the median overall survival was 452 days and 286 days without significant difference (P=0.503). The one-year survival rate in the test group and control group was 56.2% and 35.4%, respectively, while the two-year survival rate was 30.2% and 26.5%, respectively. No significant difference in the side effects was found between the two groups. Conclusions: Endostar$^{(R)}$ combined with chemotherapy resulted in a higher DCR and longer PFS in the patients with advanced STS, and the toxicity was tolerable.

STABILITY AND BIFURCATION ANALYSIS FOR A TWO-COMPETITOR/ONE-PREY SYSTEM WITH TWO DELAYS

        Guo-Hu Cui,Xiang-Ping Yan 대한수학회 2011 대한수학회지 Vol.48 No.6

The present paper is concerned with a two-competitor/one-prey population system with Holling type-II functional response and two discrete delays. By linearizing the system at the positive equilibrium and analyzing the associated characteristic equation, the asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium and existence of local Hopf bifurcations are investigated. Particularly, by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction for functional differential equations (FDEs),explicit formulae determining the direction of bifurcations and the sta-bility of bifurcating periodic solutions are derived. Finally, to verify our theoretical predictions, some numerical simulations are also included at the end of this paper.

Comparative Proteomic Analysis of Yak Follicular Fluid during Estrus

        Guo, Xian,Pei, Jie,Ding, Xuezhi,Chu, Min,Bao, Pengjia,Wu, Xiaoyun,Liang, Chunnian,Yan, Ping Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2016 Animal Bioscience Vol.29 No.9

The breeding of yaks is highly seasonal, there are many crucial proteins involved in the reproduction control program, especially in follicular development. In order to isolate differential proteins between mature and immature follicular fluid (FF) of yak, the FF from yak follicles with different sizes were sampled respectively, and two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) of the proteins was carried out. After silver staining, the Image Master 2D platinum software was used for protein analysis and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) was performed for differential protein identification. The expression level of transferrin and enolase superfamily member 1 (ENOSF1) was determined by Western blotting for verification analysis. The results showed that 2-DE obtained an electrophoresis map of proteins from mature and immature yak FF with high resolution and repeatability. A comparison of protein profiles identified 12 differently expressed proteins, out of which 10 of them were upregulated while 2 were downregulated. Western blotting showed that the expression of transferrin and ENOSF1 was enhanced with follicular development. Both the obtained protein profiles and the differently expressed proteins identified in this study provided experimental data related to follicular development during yak breeding seasons. This study also laid the foundation for understanding the microenvironment during oocyte development.

Robust Design of Main Control Valve for Hydraulic Pile Hammer Flexible Control System

Guo, Yong,Hu, Jun Ping,Zhang, Long Yan Korean Society for Fluid machinery 2016 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.9 No.1

The flexible control system for hydraulic pile hammer using main control valve is present to the requirement of rapidly reversing with high frequency. To ensure the working reliability of hydraulic pile hammer, the reversing performance of the main control valve should commutate robustness to various interfere factors. Through simulation model built in Simulink/Stateflow and experiment, the effects of relative parameters to reverse performance of main control are analyzed and the main interfere factors for reversing performance are acquired. Treating reverse required time as design objects, some structure parameters as control factors, control pressure, input flow and gaps between spool and valve body as interfere factors, the robust design of the main control valve is done. The combination of factors with the strongest anti-jamming capability is acquired which ensured the reliability and anti-jamming capability of the main control valve. It also provides guidance on design and application of the main control valve used in large flow control with interferes.

Examination of a Nurse-led Community-based Education and Coaching Intervention for Coronary Heart Disease High-risk Individuals in China

        Yan-Jin Huang,Monica Parry,Ying Zeng,Yan Luo,Jing Yang,Guo-Ping He 한국간호과학회 2017 Asian Nursing Research Vol.11 No.3

Purpose: Early detection and management of coronary heart disease (CHD) are embedded into many community health service and primary care practices in western countries. The Framingham CHD risk score has been used to predict CHD and mortality for nearly 20 years, and it has predicted CHD event risk accurately in multiethnic populations. The aim of this study was to access the effect of a 6-month community-based intervention on CHD risk in individuals at high risk. Methods: A randomized controlled trial of individuals with a high 10-year CHD risk were recruited from two communities in China. Individuals in the intervention group (n ¼ 53) received a 3-month group education and a 3-month coaching session. Physical examination and self-report questionnaires were used to collect both pre- and postintervention data on blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body mass index, smoking, depression, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Results: A total of 102 participants (85.0%) completed the 6-month study. Compared with the usual care group, the intervention group had a 5 mmHg greater reduction in systolic blood pressure (t = 2.01, p = .047), larger declines in glucose (t = 2.49, p = .015), cholesterol (t = 2.44, p = .017), body mass index (t = 2.58, p = .011), and depression (t = 2.05, p = .043), and better reports of HRQoL (t = 3.36, p = .001). No significant group differences in smoking behaviors were reported. Conclusion: A 6-month community-based intervention in a CHD high-risk population improved diseaserelated risk factors, depression, and HRQoL. Results provide preliminary evidence for primary prevention of cardiovascular disease risk in a community high-risk population.

Diversity, distribution, and antagonistic activities of rhizobacteria of Panax notoginseng

        Ze-Yan Fan,Cui-Ping Miao,Xin-Guo Qiao,You-Kun Zheng,Hua-Hong Chen,You-Wei Chen,Li-Hua Xu,Li-Xing Zhao,Hui-Lin Guan 고려인삼학회 2016 Journal of Ginseng Research Vol.40 No.2

Background: Rhizobacteria play an important role in plant defense and could be promising sources of biocontrol agents. This study aimed to screen antagonistic bacteria and develop a biocontrol system for root rot complex of Panax notoginseng. Methods: Pure-culture methods were used to isolate bacteria from the rhizosphere soil of notoginseng plants. The identification of isolates was based on the analysis of 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequences. Results: A total of 279 bacteria were obtained from rhizosphere soils of healthy and root-rot notoginseng plants, and uncultivated soil. Among all the isolates, 88 showed antagonistic activity to at least one of three phytopathogenic fungi, Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, and Phoma herbarum mainly causing root rot disease of P. notoginseng. Based on the 16S rRNA sequencing, the antagonistic bacteria were characterized into four clusters, Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Bacteroidetesi. The genus Bacillus was the most frequently isolated, and Bacillus siamensis (Hs02), Bacillus atrophaeus (Hs09) showed strong antagonistic activity to the three pathogens. The distribution pattern differed in soil types, genera Achromobacter, Acidovorax, Brevibacterium, Brevundimonas, Flavimonas, and Streptomyces were only found in rhizosphere of healthy plants, while Delftia, Leclercia, Brevibacillus, Microbacterium, Pantoea, Rhizobium, and Stenotrophomonas only exist in soil of diseased plant, and Acinetobacter only exist in uncultivated soil. Conclusion: The results suggest that diverse bacteria exist in the P. notoginseng rhizosphere soil, with differences in community in the same field, and antagonistic isolates may be good potential biological control agent for the notoginseng root-rot diseases caused by F. oxysporum, Fusarium solani, and Panax herbarum.

        Han, Yan-Guo,Liu, Gui-Qiong,Jiang, Xun-Ping,Xiang, Xing-Long,Huang, Yong-Fu,Nie, Bin,Zhao, Jia-Yu,Nabeel, Ijaz,Tesema, Birhanu Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2018 Animal Bioscience Vol.31 No.6

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the reversibility and safety of KISS1 metastasis suppressor (KISS1) gene vaccine in immunocastration. Methods: Six eight-week old ram lambs were randomly divided into vaccinated and control groups. The vaccine (1 mg/ram lamb) was injected at weeks 0, 3, and 6 of the study. Blood samples were collected from the jugular vein before primary immunization and at weeks 2, 4, 6, 10, 14, 22, and 30 after primary immunization. All ram lambs were slaughtered at 38 weeks of age, and samples were collected. Results: The specific anti-KISS1 antibody titers in vaccinated animals were significantly higher and the serum testosterone level was significantly lower than those in the control groups from week 4 to 14 after primary immunization (p<0.05). No significant difference was observed at weeks 22 and 30 after the primary immunization. Similar results were also found for scrotal circumference, testicular weight, length, breadth, and spermatogenesis in seminiferous tubules in week 30 after primary immunization. KS (KISS1-hepatitis B surface antigen S) fusion fragment of KISS1 gene vaccine was not detected in host cell genomic DNA of 9 tissues of the vaccinated ram lambs by polymerase chain reaction. Conclusion: The effects of KISS1 gene vaccine in immunocastration were reversible and no integration events were recorded.
