Background: Several recent studies have explored associations between pre-mir-218 polymorphism (rs11134527) and cancer risk. However, published data are still inconclusive. To obtain a more precise estimation of the relationship in the Chinese population, we carried out a meta-analysis for the first time. Materials and Methods: Through retrieval from the PubMed, Medline, Embase, Web of Science databases, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and the Chinese BioMedical Literature Database, a total of four studies were analyzed with 3,561 cases and 3,628 controls for SNP pre-mir-218 rs11134527. We calculated odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) to explore the strength of associations. Results: The results showed that the rs11134527 polymorphism was associated with decreased cancer risk in GG versus AA and GG versus AA+AG models tested ( GG vs AA: OR=0.82, 95%CI: 0.71-0.94; GG vs AA+AG: OR=0.84, 95%CI: 0.74-0.96), and significantly decreased cervical cancer risk was observed in GG versus AA and GG versus AA+AG models (GG vs AA: OR=0.79, 95%CI: 0.66-0.94; GG vs AA+AG: OR=0.80, 95%CI: 0.68-0.94). However, no significant association between the rs11134527polymorphism and hepatocellular carcinoma risk was observed in all comparison models tested (AG vs AA: OR=0.94, 95%CI: 0.79-1.11; GG vs AA: OR=0.88, 95%CI: 0.70-1.10; GG+AG vs AA: OR=0.92, 95%CI: 0.79-1.08; GG vs AA+AG: OR=0.91, 95%CI: 0.75-1.11). Conclusion: The findings suggest that pre-miR-218 rs11134527 polymorphism may have some relation to cancer development in Chinese. However, well-designed studies with larger sample size and more detailed data are needed to confirm these conclusions.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Conducting polymeric polyaniline hollow spheres (PANI-HS) were fabricated and evaluated as a smart electro-stimuli responsive material, whose both special structure of shorter diffusion length promotes the electron transfer and specific surface area is greatly amplified than solid spheres. The monodisperse polystyrene (PS) seeds were initially synthesized by a facile surfactant-free emulsion polymerization, and then the monomer aniline was adsorbed and polymerized on the sulfonated PS spheres to form the PS/polyaniline (PANI) composites, allowing the PS cores to be removed by a solvent extraction later. The morphology and shell thickness were examined using both scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy affirmed chemical structure of pure PS, PS/PANI and PANI-HS. This paper is concerned with the robust resilient H∞ state estimation problem for time-varying recurrent neural networks (TVRNNs) with probabilistic quantization under variance constraint. Here, a situation is considered where the signals are quantized before entering the network, and the occurrence probability is assumed to be known. In addition, during the design of the state estimation algorithm, the additive variation of the estimator gain is considered to reflect the parameter deviation that may occur during the execution. The main purpose is to design a finite-horizon resilient state estimation algorithm such that, in the presence of probabilistic quantization and estimator gain perturbation, some sufficient criteria are obtained for the estimation error system to satisfy the prescribed H∞ performance requirement within the finite-horizon and the error variance boundedness. Finally, a numerical example is conducted to verify the feasibility of the presented estimation algorithm against the probabilistic quantization and estimator gain perturbation.
Highly efficient, durable and eco-friendly intumescent flame retardant for wool fabrics
Yan Gao,Jin-Feng Li 한국화학공학회 2023 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.40 No.4
According to the requirements of flame retardant and environmental protection of wool fabrics, a phosphorus-nitrogen intumescent flame-retardant (IFR) system was constructed on the surface of wool fabrics based on dip-rolling-drying process with DEA serving as carbonizing agent, phosphorous acid and phosphoric acid used as acids, and urea serving as blowing agent. Ammonium N-ethoxy-n-methylene phosphonate-n-ethyl phosphate (ANPP) was designed and the treated wool fabrics with a weight gain (WG) of 27.4% presented highly flame retardancy and exhibited a high limiting oxygen index (LOI) of 37.8%; after 50 laundering cycles (LCs), LOI can still be remained at 30.5%. Self-extinguishing properties in the vertical combustion. The cone calorimeter (CONE) test verified that the peak heat release rate (PHRR) of the untreated wool fabrics declined to 82.2 from 251.7 kW/m2 after ANPP treatment, and the total heat release (THR) was reduced to 4.4 from 37.9 MJ/m2. In addition, the physical properties were maintained in the usable range. The flame-retardant mechanism analysis showed that the dense phosphorus-nitrogen char layer shaped effectively prevented the release of heat and spread of flammable volatile substances in the condensed phase. This study supplies novel ideas on devising and manufacturing of environmentally friendly treated wool fabrics with superior flame retardancy, durability, and high efficiency.
ON THE SUBDIFFERENTIAL OF A NONLINEAR COMPLEMENTARITY PROBLEM FUNCTION WITH NONSMOOTH DATA
Gao, Yan The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2009 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.27 No.1
In this paper, a system of nonsmooth equations reformulated from a nonlinear complementarity problem with nonsmooth data is studied. The formulas of some subdifferentials for related functions in this system of nonsmooth equations are developed. The present work can be applied to Newton methods for solving this kind of nonlinear complementarity problem.
DIFFERENCE OF TWO SETS AND ESTIMATION OF CLARKE GENERALIZED JACOBIAN VIA QUASIDIFFERENTIAL
Gao, Yan 한국전산응용수학회 2001 The Korean journal of computational & applied math Vol.8 No.2
The notion of difference for two convex compact sets in Rⁿ, proposed by Rubinov et al, is generalized to Rm×n. A formula of the difference for the two sets, which are convex hulls of a finite number of points, is developed. In the light of this difference, the relation between Clarke generalized Jacobian and quasidifferential, in the sense of Demyanov and Rubinov, for a nonsnooth function, is established. Based on the relation, the method of estimating Clarke generalized Jacobian via quasidifferential for a certain class of function, is presented. NEWTON AND QUASI-NEWTON METHODS FOR EQUATIONS OF SMOOTH COMPOSITIONS OF SEMISMOOTH FUNCTIONS
Gao, Yan 한국전산응용수학회 1999 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.6 No.3
The Newtom method and the quasi-Newton method for solving equations of smooth compositions of semismooth functions are proposed. The Q-superlinear convergence of the Newton method and the Q-linear convergence of the quasi-Newton method are proved. The present methods can be more easily implemeted than previous ones for this class of nonsmooth equations.
Wireless Energy-Harvesting Cognitive Radio with Feature Detectors
( Yan Gao ),( Yunfei Chen ),( Zhibin Xie ),( Guobing Hu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.10
The performances of two commonly used feature detectors for wireless energy-harvesting cognitive radio systems are compared with the energy detector under energy causality and collision constraints. The optimal sensing duration is obtained by analyzing the effect of the detection threshold on the average throughput and collision probability. Numerical examples show that the covariance detector has the optimal sensing duration depending on an appropriate choice of the detection threshold, but no optimal sensing duration exists for the ratio of average energy to minimum eigenvalue detector.
