      • Modeling the Spread of Computer Viruses under the Effects of Infected External Computers and Removable Storage Media

Xulong Zhang 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Security and Its Applicat Vol.10 No.3

This paper is intended to investigate the effects of infected external computers and removable storage media on the spread of computer viruses. To this end, a new dynamical model, which has four compartments, is proposed. The analysis of the model shows that the unique equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. This result is well suited for numerical implementation. An illustration of the influences of infected external computers and removable storage media is also included. Furthermore, it is found that (1) infected external computers and removable storage media can both accelerate the viral spread; (2) infected removable storage media can pose a greater threat than infected external computers.

      • Magnesium Sulfate Induced Toxicity in Vitro in AGS Gastric Adenocarcinoma Cells and in Vivo in Mouse Gastric Mucosa

Zhang, Xulong,Bo, Agula,Chi, Baofeng,Xia, Yuan,Su, Xiong,Sun, Juan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.1

Magnesium sulfate is widely used as a food additive and as an orally administered medication. The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible cytotoxicity of magnesium sulfate on AGS human gastric adenocarcinoma cells and gastric mucosa in mice. A trypan blue exclusion assay was used to determine the reduction in viability of AGS cells exposed to magnesium sulfate, and then effects on cell proliferation were quantified. The role of magnesium sulfate-mediated pro-inflammatory cytokine production in AGS cells was also investigated. mRNA expression for IL-$1{\beta}$, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-${\alpha}$ was determined by RT-PCR, and secretion of these cytokines was measured by ELISA. Immunohistochemical evaluation of IL-$1{\beta}$, IL-6, and TNF-${\alpha}$ expression was conducted in mouse gastric mucosa. Addition of 3 to 50 mM magnesium sulfate to AGS cells inhibited both cell proliferation and cell viability in a dose-dependent manner. Magnesium sulfate had little effect on production of IL-$1{\beta}$ or IL-6 but significantly inhibited production of IL-8. The animal model demonstrated that magnesium sulfate induced production of IL-$1{\beta}$, IL-6, and TNF-${\alpha}$. These preliminary data suggest that magnesium sulfate had a direct effect on the stomach and initiates cytotoxicity in moderate concentrations and time periods by inhibiting viability a nd proliferation of AGS cells and by regulating expression and/or release of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Expression of Thymosin α1-thymopentin Fusion Peptide in Pichia pastoris and its Characterization

        Demin Gao,Xulong Zhang,Jian Zhang,Jichao Cao,Fengshan Wang 대한약학회 2008 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.31 No.11

Thymopentin plays an important role in improving imbalanced immune systems of patients, however, it has a limited half-life in plasma. To get more stable and active thymopentin analogs, a fusion thymosin α1-thymopentin (Tα1-TP5) gene was synthesized and cloned into vector pGAPZαA. Tα1-TP5 fusion peptide was expressed in pichia pastoris and purified by metal chelating chromatography and gel filtration chromatography. The circular dichroism spectra (CD) indicated that the secondary structure of Tα1-TP5 fusion peptide is dominated by a-helix and random coil. In vitro analysis showed that the plasma half-life of Tα1-TP5 fusion peptide is 140 ±14 min, which is longer than that of TP5 (5.6±0.7 min) and Tα1 (127±11 min). The in vitro activity assay presented that Tα1-TP5 fusion peptide has greater activity in promoting proliferation of Kunming mouse splenocytes, and in vivo experiment it showed better activity in promoting the phagocytosis of macrophages and secretion of IL-2 than both Tα1 and TP5. Our findings suggest that Tα1-TP5 fusion peptide might be a potential therapeutic agent.

Expression of Thymosin ${\alpha}1$-thymopentin Fusion Peptide in Pichia pastoris and its Characterization

        Gao, Demin,Zhang, Xulong,Zhang, Jian,Cao, Jichao,Wang, Fengshan 대한약학회 2008 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.31 No.11

Thymopentin plays an important role in improving imbalanced immune systems of patients, however, it has a limited half-life in plasma. To get more stable and active thymopentin analogs, a fusion thymosin ${\alpha}1$-thymopentin ($T{\alpha}1$-TP5) gene was synthesized and cloned into vector $pGAPZ{\alpha}A$. $T{\alpha}1$-TP5 fusion peptide was expressed in pichia pastoris and purified by metal chelating chromatography and gel filtration chromatography. The circular dichroism spectra (CD) indicated that the secondary structure of $T{\alpha}1$-TP5 fusion peptide is dominated by a-helix and random coil. In vitro analysis showed that the plasma half-life of $T{\alpha}1$-TP5 fusion peptide is $140{\pm}14\;min$, which is longer than that of TP5 ($5.6{\pm}0.7\;min$) and $T{\alpha}1$ ($127{\pm}11\;min$). The in vitro activity assay presented that $T{\alpha}1$-TP5 fusion peptide has greater activity in promoting proliferation of Kunming mouse splenocytes, and in vivo experiment it showed better activity in promoting the phagocytosis of macrophages and secretion of IL-2 than both $T{\alpha}1$ and TP5. Our findings suggest that $T{\alpha}1$-TP5 fusion peptide might be a potential therapeutic agent.

FATIGUE ANALYSIS OF WELD REGION IN TORSION BEAM REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM

        Nan Zhan,Xiaochuan Zhang,Xulong Jin,Hongwei Cao 한국자동차공학회 2019 International journal of automotive technology Vol.20 No.2

Torsion beam rear suspension systems have been widely used in small passenger vehicles. However, welding can lead to local stress concentrations, residual stresses and other various defects, which affects the fatigue life of this system. In this paper, 3D digital image correlation (DIC) technique was used to measure the weld region deformation of a torsion beam rear suspension system in the bench test. The test results show that the obvious strain concentration occurred at the welding seam under the cyclic loading. The numerical simulation work by finite element analysis (FEA) has been done to predict the fatigue damage of the torsion beam rear suspension system. The simulation results show that the location of the fatigue crack was at the strain concentration region in the test work. The enhancement test was performed on a proving ground. The fatigure crack location of the torsion beam rear suspension system in the test automobile was coincident with the results by DIC and FEA. If the load conditions of bench tests are close to the road test, DIC is a useful method to predict the fatigue damage by the strain concentration. As a in lab test it would reduce the cost of fatigue analysis.
