The purpose of this study was to compare the appearance similarity between a 3D virtual wedding dress, and a model wearing real dress, and production efficiency, and the possibility of achieving similar results with 3D digital technology. Five wedding dresses for small weddings under the theme of ‘Dream Series’, were designed and produced in virtual and real dresses to quantitatively compare and analyze the appearance similarity and production efficiency. Experts compared the appearance similarity on the silhouettes, colors, materials, and details, and production efficiency was compared with time and cost. Based on our results, 3D virtual images of four out of the five dresses were similar to the real images. Our efficiency evaluation results showed that the manufacturing time was 45.4% shorter, and the manufacturing cost was 46.1% less than the existing method. This indicated that the wedding dress manufacturing process using 3D virtual software was time and cost saving competitive. Our results also confirmed that 3D virtual software technology has the potential to increase the efficiency of designing and production, and therefore an increase in competitiveness and sales of wedding dresses. Furthermore, 3D technology allows consumers to select and order wedding dresses online through 3D virtual software. This is a great advantage, and it highlights the significance of this research study.

The purpose of this thesis is to compare the efficiency of 3D digital design technology with traditional hand-drawn designs of a transformable dress for a small wedding. After reviewing the literature, this empirical study analyzed the tendencies of small wedding dress design, concluding that a transformable dress for a small wedding consists of a bodice, skirt, and outer skirt or gown with train, each of which has five possible designs, resulting in 15 virtual items within the 3D program. The 3D program provides the benefit of easy design development as well as reduced costs and design time. Specifically, the random combination of 15 items with layers in the 3D program produced 150 different styles in 5 hours, while hand-drawing 150 dresses took 50 hours. Moreover, the 3D program does not need any material, but 150 physical drawings required a sketchbook, pencil, eraser, and marker, total cost 31,100 won. Additionally, the 3D whole-body scan helps the bride decide which design she prefers through virtual try-ons. Eventually, the 3D program could help a bride decide what she prefers and produce it with virtual simulation, resulting in reduced time and costs.
Diabetes Mellitus and Cause-Specific Mortality: A Population-Based Study

Background: To investigate whether diabetes contributes to mortality for major types of diseases. Methods: Six National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data cycles (1999 to 2000, 2001 to 2002, 2003 to 2004, 2005 to 2006, 2007 to 2008, and 2009 to 2010) and their linked mortality files were used. A population of 15,513 participants was included according to the availability of diabetes and mortality status. Results: Participants with diabetes tended to have higher all-cause mortality and mortality due to cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic lower respiratory diseases, cerebrovascular disease, influenza and pneumonia, and kidney disease. Confounder-adjusted Cox proportional hazard models showed that both diagnosed diabetes category (yes or no) and diabetes status (diabetes, prediabetes, or no diabetes) were associated with all-cause mortality and with mortality due to cardiovascular disease, chronic lower respiratory diseases, influenza and pneumonia, and kidney disease. No associations were found for cancer-, accidents-, or Alzheimer’s disease-related mortality. Conclusion: The current study’s findings provide epidemiological evidence that diagnosed diabetes at the baseline is associated with increased mortality risk due to cardiovascular disease, chronic lower respiratory diseases, influenza and pneumonia, and kidney disease, but not with cancer or Alzheimer’s disease.

Camptothecin, a quinoline alkaloid, has strong action against Spodoptera frugiperda, a polyphagous pest found globally. Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) is a popular and dependable technique for analyzing the mRNA expression of target genes. While RT-qPCR normalization requires reference genes with consistent expression. Many investigations have discovered that pesticides can change the expression patterns of reference genes. To date, the effects of CPT treatments on the expression stability of reference genes in S. frugiperda larvae are un clear. This study chose eight candidate reference genes, including alpha-tubulin (α-TUB), beta-1-tubulin (β-1-TUB), Actin, elongation factor 1 alpha (EF1α), elongation factor 2 (EF2), glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), ribosomal protein L3 (RPL3), and ribosomal protein L13 (RPL13). Five approaches were used to inves tigate expression stability in S. frugiperda larval samples treated with CPT: ΔCt, BestKeeper, geNorm, Norm Finder, and RefFinder, respectively. Furthermore, the ideal number of reference genes was determined using GeNorm. Our findings revealed that two reference genes were sufficient to normalize RT-qPCR in samples treated with CPT. The recommended reference gene combinations for different samples are as follows: α-TUB and β-1-TUB for CPT-treated larval samples; β-1-TUB and RPL13 for samples of larval cuticle tissues; RPL3 and RPL13 for the larval fat body samples; EF1α and RPL3 for the larval malpighian tube samples; and EF2 and Actin for the larval midgut samples. Our results laid the groundwork for the mRNA expression analysis of target genes in S. frugiperda impacted by CPT exposure, contributing to the research of the molecular action mechanism of CPT in S. frugiperda.
