Reverse Iterative Image Encryption Scheme Using 8-layer Cellular Automata

( Xing Zhang ),( Hong Zhang ),( Chungen Xu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.7

Considering that the layered cellular automata (LCA) are naturally fit for representing image data in various applications, a novel reverse iterative image encryption scheme based on LCA is proposed. Specifically, the plain image is set as the final configuration of an 8-layer CA, and some sequences derived from a random sequence are set as the pre-final configuration, which ensure that the same plain image will never be encrypted in the same way when encrypted many times. Then, this LCA is backward evolved by following some reversible two order rules, which are generated with the aid of a newly defined T-shaped neighborhood. The cipher image is obtained from the recovered initial configuration. Several analyses and experimental results show that the proposed scheme possesses a high security level and executive performance.

A New Public Key Encryption Scheme based on Layered Cellular Automata

( Xing Zhang ),( Rongxing Lu ),( Hong Zhang ),( Chungen Xu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2014 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.8 No.10

Cellular automata (CA) based cryptosystem has been studied for almost three decades, yet most of previously reported researches focus on the symmetric key encryption schemes. Up to now, few CA based public key encryption scheme has been proposed. To fill the gap, in this paper, we propose a new public key encryption scheme based on layered cellular automata (LCA). Specifically, in the proposed scheme, based on the T-shaped neighborhood structure, we combine four one-dimensional reversible CAs (set as the private key) to form the transition rules of a two-dimension CA, where the two-dimension CA is set as the corresponding public key. Based on the hardness assumption of the Decisional Dependent CA problem in LCA, we formally prove the proposed scheme is indistinguishably secure against the chosen-plaintext attack (IND-CPA). In addition, we also use a numeric example to demonstrate its feasibility. Finally, analysis of key space and time efficiency are also carried out along with RSA-1024, and the simulation results demonstrate that our proposed scheme is more efficient.

A Secure and Efficient E-Medical Record System via Searchable Encryption in Public Platform

( Lei Xu ),( Chungen Xu ),( Xing Zhang ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.9

This paper mainly presents a secure and efficient e-Medical Record System via searchable encryption scheme from asymmetric pairings, which could provide privacy data search and encrypt function for patients and doctors in public platform. The core technique of this system is an extension public key encryption system with keyword search, which the server could test whether or not the files stored in platform contain the keyword without leaking the information about the encrypted file. Compared with former e-medical record systems, the system proposed here has several superior features: (1)Users could search the data stored in cloud server contains some keywords without leaking anything about the origin data. (2) We apply asymmetric pairings to achieve shorter key size scheme in the standard model, and adopt the dual system encryption technique to reduce the scheme`s secure problem to the hard Symmetric External Diffie-Hellman assumption, which could against the variety of attacks in the future complex network environment. (3) In the last of paper, we analyze the scheme`s efficiency and point out that our scheme is more efficient and secure than some other classical searchable encryption models.

Clinical Comparison of Proximal Gastrectomy With Double-Tract Reconstruction Versus Total Gastrectomy With Roux-en-Y Anastomosis for Siewert Type II/III Adenocarcinoma of the Esophagogastric Junction

        Ma Xiaoming,Zhao Mingzuo,Wang Jian,Pan Haixing,Wu Jianqiang,Xing Chungen 대한위암학회 2022 Journal of gastric cancer Vol.22 No.3

Purpose The incidence of adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) has increased in recent years, and the optimal surgical strategy for AEG remains highly controversial. We aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of proximal gastrectomy with double-tract reconstruction (PG-DT) for the treatment of patients with AEG. Materials and Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with Siewert type II/III AEG between January 2013 and July 2018. Clinicopathological characteristics, survival, surgical outcomes, quality of life (QOL), and nutritional status were compared between the PG-DT and total gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y anastomosis (TG-RY) groups. Results After propensity score matching, 33 patients in each group were analyzed. There were no statistical differences between the 2 groups in terms of disease-free survival and overall survival. The surgical option was not an independent prognostic factor based on the multivariate analysis. In addition, no differences were found in terms of surgical complications. There were no significant differences in QOL assessed by the Visick grade, Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale, or endoscopic findings. Furthermore, the long-term nutritional advantage of the PG-DT group was significantly greater than that of the TG-RY group. Conclusions PG-DT is a safe and effective procedure for patients with local Siewert type II/III AEG, regardless of the TNM stage. TCN1 Deficiency Inhibits the Malignancy of Colorectal Cancer Cells by Regulating the ITGB4 Pathway

        Zhu Xinqiang,Jiang Xuetong,Zhang Qinglin,Huang Hailong,Shi Xiaohong,Hou Daorong,Xing Chungen 거트앤리버 소화기연관학회협의회 2023 Gut and Liver Vol.17 No.3

Background/Aims: This study aimed to investigate the biological function and regulatory mechanism of TCN1 in colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods: We studied the biological function of TCN1 by performing gain-of-function and loss-offunction analyses in HCT116 cell lines; examined the effects of TCN1 on the proliferation, apoptosis, and invasion of CRC cells; and determined potential molecular mechanisms using HCT116 and SW480 CRC lines and mouse xenotransplantation models. Tumor xenograft and colonization assays were performed to detect the tumorigenicity and metastatic foci of cells in vivo. Results: TCN1 knockdown attenuated CRC cell proliferation and invasion and promoted cell apoptosis. Overexpression of TCN1 yielded the opposite effects. In addition, TCN1-knockdown HCT116 cells failed to form metastatic foci in the peritoneum after intravenous injection. Molecular mechanism analyses showed that TCN1 interacted with integrin subunit β4 (ITGB4) to positively regulate the expression of ITGB4. TCN1 knockdown promoted the degradation of ITGB4 and increased the instability of ITGB4 and filamin A. Downregulation of ITGB4 at the protein level resulted in the disassociation of the ITGB4/plectin complex, leading to cytoskeletal damage. Conclusions: TCN1 might play an oncogenic role in CRC by regulating the ITGB4 signaling pathway.
