      • Effect of Trichostatin A on CNE2 Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Cells - Genome-wide DNA Methylation Alteration

        Trichostatin A (TSA) is a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor. We here investigated its effects on proliferation and apoptosis of the CNE2 carcinoma cell line, and attempted to establish genome-wide DNA methylation alteration due to differentially histone acetylation status. After cells were treated by TSA, the inhibitory rate of cell proliferation was examined with a CCK8 kit, and cell apoptosis was determined by flow cytometry. Compared to control, TSA inhibited CNE2 cell growth and induced apoptosis. Furthermore, TSA was found to induce genome-wide methylation alteration as assessed by genome-wide methylation array. Overall DNA methylation level of cells treated with TSA was higher than in controls. Function and pathway analysis revealed that many genes with methylation alteration were involved in key biological roles, such as apoptosis and cell proliferation. Three genes (DAP3, HSPB1 and CLDN) were independently confirmed by quantitative real-time PCR. Finally, we conclude that TSA inhibits CNE2 cell growth and induces apoptosis in vitro involving genome-wide DNA methylation alteration, so that it has promising application prospects in treatment of NPC in vivo. Although many unreported hypermethylated/hypomethylated genes should be further analyzed and validated, the pointers to new biomarkers and therapeutic strategies in the treatment of NPC should be stressed.

        Synthesis of Core−Shell Au@TiO<sub>2</sub> Nanoparticles with Truncated Wedge-Shaped Morphology and Their Photocatalytic Properties

        <P>Core−shell Au@TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles with truncated wedge-shaped TiO<SUB>2</SUB> morphology have been synthesized successfully by a simple and flexible hydrothermal route. Morphological evolution of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> shells was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and X-ray diffraction technique. It has been revealed that the truncated wedge-shaped TiO<SUB>2</SUB> shells experience an epitaxially segmented orientation growth. Also, the (101) crystal planes of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> crystals grow preferentially on the surface of gold nanocrystals stabilizing the heterointerfaces, then faster [001] growth results in the “budding” process occurs, producing growth sites on the initial deposition TiO<SUB>2</SUB> layers, where the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> crystals grow up into truncated wedge-shaped morphologies. It is also found that morphological evolution of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> shells is dependent on the produced F<SUP>−</SUP> ion concentration from hydrolyzed TiF<SUB>4</SUB> precursors. The produced F<SUP>−</SUP> ions not only facilitate the formation of well-defined wedge-like TiO<SUB>2</SUB> shells, but also contribute to the externally exposed truncated crystal {004} facets. As the representative photocatalyst, the catalytic activities of the resultant core−shell Au@TiO<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles were investigated by photoinitiated oxidation degradation of gaseous acetaldehyde. It has been indicated that the nanostructured core−shell Au@TiO<SUB>2</SUB> photocatalyst represents high photocatalytic activity when exposed to UV or visible light irradiation.         Four isostructural amino-acid-based polyoxomolybdates, {$M(H_2O)_3(pro)Mo_4O_{13}$}$_2{\cdot}2H_2O$ (pro = proline, M = Co (1), Ni (2), Cu (3), Zn (4)), have been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectrum, TG analysis. The structures of 1-4 are layered networks built up from {$Mo_8O_{26}(pro)_2$}$^{4-}$ units and {$M(H_2O)_3O_3$} octahedra, the uncoordinated water molecules occupying the interlayer regions.

        Preparation of Non-woven Fabric Reinforced Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Composite Membranes for Water Treatment

        To optimize the mechanical properties of polymeric membranes fabricated by non-solvent induced phaseseparation (NIPS), a non-woven fabric has been used to reinforce the composite membrane. However, it remains a challengeto prepare an intact polymer membrane on the non-woven fabric because casting dopes usually spread into the poroussubstrate. Herein, a kind of non-woven fabric reinforced poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) composite membrane wasfabricated by using poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) to control the viscosity of casting dopes. Additionally, the effects of nonwovenfabric on the membrane structure and properties were explored in the light of dynamics during the phase inversionprocess. A porous skin layer and long finger-like pores were successfully created on the surface and inner of membraneswhen 6 wt% PVP was added in the casting dopes. Compared with pure PVDF membranes, the pure water flux of the resultantmembrane was elevated from 49.9 L/m2h to 656 L/m2h, BSA rejection from 40.5 % to 86.4 %, and flux recovery ratio (FRR)from 58.7 % to 86.1 %. More importantly, it also possessed outstanding mechanical properties, which far outperforms theresults reported in some literatures. This study suggests a promising strategy to fabricate PVDF composite membranes withpreeminent properties for wastewater treatment.

        A Comparative Study of Chinese and Western Film Colors

        영화는 흑백영화부터 컬러영화로 접어들면서 스크린영상이 질적인 변화를 가져왔다. 영화 속의 색채는 물상의 객관적인 모습을 원한재현기능을 가지고 있을 뿐만 아니라 다른 주관적인 감정을 전달하는 기능도 가지고 있다. 색채 외에는 표현할 수 없는 예술적인 효과를 표현할 수 있고 스토리 자체가 전달하지 못하는 컨텐츠도 전달할 수 있다. 그러므로 영화색채는 영화언어의 중요한 구성요소가 되었다. 영화 속에 색채는 단화면색채, 신색채, 영화전체의 색채기조 및 줄거리에 따라 만드는 여러 가지 색채체인으로 스크린에서 나타났다. 영화예술 수법은 몽타주조법을 사용해서 화면 속에 색채도 몽타주형식이 형성되며 이것이 색채몽타주라고 부른다. 대중들이 색채에 주관적인 평가가 색채언어에 대한 받아들인 수준은 각 부분적인 색조사이에 상호작용에 의해 표현할 수 있다. 색채의 독특한 속성은 색채가 구조상태에 들어가야 하는 것을 결정하였다. 그래야 색채의 고유한 매력을 표현할 수 있다. 영화색채가 이런 ‘색채구조’의 층면에 들어가야 진정한 신미가치를 가질 수 있다. 본문은 동서양감독들의 색채사유와 동서양 영화색채에 담고 있는 문화의 차이 두 가지 측면을 통해 동서양영화 색채에 대해 비교적 연구를 하고자 한다. 서양감독들은 색채의 구조성을 강조하여 색조몽타주방식으로 인물의 감정을 표현하는 것을 중시하며 주관적 색채를 부여하는 특징을 구체적으로 드러낸다. 중국영화의 경우는 제5대 감독으로부터 영화색채언어의 새로운 장이 열리기 시작한다. 감정과 경치가 서로 융화하다가 ‘의상합일’의 영화 특징을 알렸다. The color in the film not only has the reproduction function of the restoration object like the objective appearance, but also has the function of conveying different subjective emotions. The artistic effect conveys the information content that the story itself can’t convey, so the color of the film becomes an important part of the film language. The color in the film is presented on the screen in the form of single-screen color, scene color, full-color color tone, and various color chains designed according to different contradictions and conflicts. Because the film art and art means are assembled by montage, he colors in the picture also form a montage form. People call it "color montage". People"s subjective nature of color criticism and acceptance of color language also depend on various local tones. The accurate expression of the relationship, the unique attribute of color determines that the color must enter the structural state in order to express its unique charm. The color of the film only has the real aesthetic value when it enters the level of "color structure". This paper studies the color of Chinese and Western films from the differences between the color thinking of Chinese and Western film directors and the cultural implication of Chinese and Western film colors. The western film director emphasizes the structure of color and pays attention to the use of tonal montage to convey the characters. Emotions reflect the characteristics of a subjective color. Beginning with the "fifth-generation" director of Chinese film, the new journey of film color language has been opened. In the process of blending love and scenery, the film style of "image-in-one" has been achieved.

        An Optimized Control Method Based on Dual Three-Level Inverters for Open-end Winding Induction Motor Drives

        An optimized space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method with common mode voltage elimination and neutral point potential balancing is proposed for an open-end winding induction motor. The motor is fed from both of the ends with two neutral point clamped (NPC) three-level inverters. In order to eliminate the common mode voltage of the motor ends and balance the neutral point potential of the DC link, only zero common mode voltage vectors are used and a balancing control factor is gained from calculation in the strategy. In order to improve the harmonic characteristics of the output voltages and currents, the balancing control factor is regulated properly and the theoretical analysis is provided. Simulation and experimental results show that by adopting the proposed method, the common mode voltage can be completely eliminated, the neutral point potential can be accurately balanced and the harmonic performance for the output voltages and currents can be effectively improved.

        Failure analysis of prestressed concrete containment vessels under internal pressure considering thermomechanical coupling

        After a loss of coolant accident (LOCA) in the prestressed concrete containment vessels (PCCVs) of nuclear power plants, the coupling of temperature and pressure can significantly affect the mechanical properties of the PCCVs. However, there is no consensus on how this coupling affects the failure mechanism of PCCVs. In this paper, a simplified finite element modeling method is proposed to study the effect of temperature and pressure coupling on PCCVs. The experiment results of a 1:4 scale PCCV model tested at Sandia National Laboratory (SNL) are compared with the results obtained from the proposed modeling approach. Seven working conditions are set up by varying the internal and external temperatures to investigate the failure mechanism of the PCCV model under the coupling effect of temperature and pressure. The results of this paper demonstrate that the finite element model established by the simplified finite element method proposed in this paper is highly consistent with the experimental results. Furthermore, the stress-displacement curve of the PCCV during loading can be divided into four stages, each of which corresponds to the damage to the concrete, steel liner, steel rebar, and prestressing tendon. Finally, the failure mechanism of the PCCV is significantly affected by temperature.
