The anion movements across the cell membrane were regarded as apart of passive distribution according to the cation movements. Recently, from the developement of patch clamp technique new concept for anion channels were introduced. And their roles in the genesis of action potential and resting potential were noticed. So we clarified the existence of the chloride channel in the smooth muscle cells and studied its nature in regard to the roles of the second messangers. We used the whold cell voltage clamp technique to study the current responses induced by carbachol application in the circular smooth muscle cells of the gastric antrum of the rabbit. The results were as follows; 1. Application of the carbachol induced the increase of inward currents in the hyperpolarized potential ranges, and the increase of outward currents in the depolarized ranges. 2. Even in the cases of blocking all the known currents, these current components were observed. 3. Sodium ion removel from the external medium rarely affected these current responses, and the addition of cadmium ion did not make any remarkable change. 4. Known second messangers such as c-AMP, c-GMP, heparin, A1F_4 rarely affected these current components. 5. Lowering of intracellular calcium ion concentration drastically reduced these current responses. Form the above results we can suggest that the carbachol induced current responses contained chloride currents which were activated by only intracellular calcium ion, not by any other second messegers in the gastric antral smooth muscle cells.

The following results of haemagglutination-Inhibition test with the use of egg folk were obtained : (1) When yolk material was used for extraction, 8% sodium chloride concentration resulted in the clear turbidity and showed no change haemagglutination-inhibition antibody titers. (2) Yolk material could be diluted two to four fold in 8% sodium chloride solution without affecting HI antibody titers, however, four fold dilution of yolk material was resulted hotter clearance than two fold dilution of yolk material. (3) No difference in HI titers could be observed, when the extracts diluted 4 fold in 8% NaCl solution were tested immediately or two to five hours later after shaking diluted yolk. (4) Phosphate buffer stock solution (PBS) and Gelatin-phosphate buffer stock solution (GPBS) as diluents showed no difference in HI titers, but physiological saline was inferior to clearance, while it gave slightly higher HI titers than those of PBS or GPBS. (5) Yolk extracts prepared from the eggs stored for different periods showed no differnce in HI titers, if the yolk was not ruptured. (6) Hl liters of the yolk were slightly lower(two to four fold) than those of the serum.

Cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita is a rare congenital vascular anomaly, characterized by congenital cutis maromrata, phlebectasia, opider nevi, ulceration, and in most instances, steady improvement from birth. We report a case of cutis marmorata telangiectatica congenita in 3-month-old boy who has developed localized, dark red reticulated mottling with shiny atrophic scars on the inner side of the left leg. Diagnosis was confirmed by clinical and histopathologic features.

We report a case of lupus erythematosus profundus in a 16-year old male. He had multiple pea-nut to bean sized subcutaneous nodules with dark brownish colored overlying skin was present on the upper arm, trunk & other systemic disease. Histologically, deep dermis & subcutaneous layer had dense patch lymphocytic infiltration and homogenized hyaline fat necrosis. Direct immunofluorescene studies showed IgM and C?? deposit on the vessel wall. We treated him with chloroquine and corticosteroid.

This study have been carried out as a sector of the rainfall-runoff relationship research. First of all, the runoff research has the difficult problem due to non-linearity of hydrological phenomena. In this study, according to the method of runoff separation into components by Hino and Hasebe (1980) is applied. This theory considers sufficiently the physical mechanism of runoff process to separate into the groundwater, interflow, and surfaceflow, respectively. Then each component of runoff time series can be reduced to the linear subsystem, that is, ARMA model can be obtained in each subsystem. Actual flood hydrograph of the every two major gauging stations in the Han River basin, the Naktong River basin and the Kum River have been analyzed, and have taken out the characteristics of each river basin. Also the runoff model have obtained for these basins.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the mechanical properties of alumina-glass dental composites. Four different borosilicate glasses were prepared, and thermal expansion coefficient was measured from 200 to 600℃. An α-alumina powder with average particle size of 4.6㎛ was used for the matrix. Porous alumina compacts of 12 mm in diameter and 1 mm thickness were prepared by slip casting and sintering at 1100℃ for 2 hours. Dense composites were made by infiltration of molten glass into partially sintered alumina at 1200℃ for 6 hours. Specimens were polished sequentially from #400 to #2000 diamond disk, and the final surface finishing on the tensile side was received an additional polishing sequence through 0.3㎛ diamond paste. Apparent porosity of alumina-glass composites was measured by means of the KS L 3114 method. Biaxial flexure test was conducted by using ball-on-three-ball method at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was performed on a polished surface which was etched with 0.5% HF solution for 30 to 40s. The results of this study were obtained as follows; 1. The lowest porosity rate of 26.3% was achieved at the PVA content of 0.013%. 2. The coefficient of thermal expansion of borosilicate glasses showed in the range of 6.30 to 6.30 to 6.46×10-6/℃ 3. The maximum biaxial strength of 383.27 MPa was obtained with an addition of 4mol% ZrO₂. 4. The observation of fracture surfaces of alumina-glass composites indicated the frictional interlocking of jags having a tendency of toughening by crack deflection and crack bridging.

This paper presents a method to reduce hysteresis in multilayer ceramic actuator by connecting the actuator with a capacitor in a series circuit. The change in hysteresis with respect to the capacitor was examined. 0.2Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O₃-0.8Pb(Zr_(0.475)Ti_(0.525)) O₃ ceramic material was used as a piezoelectric material for the actuator. Displacement of the actuator was measured in a capacitive gap sensor measuring system. In case of inserting a capacitor in a total circuit, hysteresis became dramatically decreased, and then finally the hysteresis value can be reduced below 0.2%. It was found in this present study that reducing the hysteresis in the actuator is dependent upon the characteristics of the capacitor in total circuit and also operating frequency
물-공기 계면에서 긴 사슬 양 말단 작용기 분자인 α,ω-13,16-Dimethyloctacosanedioate Dimethylester(C_30DME)의 거동에 관한 연구

물-공기 계면에서 표면압력의 증가에 따른 C30DME 분자의 구조 변화를 살펴보았다. 표면압력(π)-표면적(A) 등온선을 통해 표면적이 줄어들 때 C30DME 분자가 선형으로부터 역 U 자형 구조로 변하는 것을 확인하였다. C30DME의 역 U 자형 구조의 형성을 확인하기 위하여 Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)와 ellipsometry를 이용하여 Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film 의 두께를 측정하였고 이 두께는 C30DME 분자의 역 U 자형 구조의 높이와 일치함을 관찰하였다. 또한 Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)을 이용한 표면 거침도 측정의 결과는 선형으로부터 역 U자형 구조로의 구조적 변화가 불연속이라는 것을 보여주었다. We investigated the conformational change of C30DME molecule with an increase on surface pressure at the air-water interface. The surface pressure (π)-area (A) isotherm indicates that the structure of C30DME changed from linear to reverse U-shape as the surface area was compressed. In order to confirm the formation of reverse U-shape, we examined the thickness of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film by a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and an ellipsometry. The result of surface roughness measurement using an atomic force microscope (AFM) showed that the conformational change from linear to reverse U-shape is discontinuous.
