      • Research on an Improved Wireless Sensor Networks Effective Coverage Method

        An improved wireless sensor networks effective coverage method based on differential evolution algorithm is proposed in this paper, which using quadratic interpolation method to improve the algorithm performance to further optimize the effective coverage of wireless sensor network nodes. Simulation results show that, compared to DE algorithm, the new algorithm can improve local search capabilities, reduce the computational cost of the algorithm, accelerate standards DE convergence, improve the accuracy of solution, and has some reference value for optimization application of wireless sensor network.

        3D numerical simulation study of Brazilian splitting in calcite vein-bearing shale based on CT scans

        Shale affects reservoir fracture sprouting and expansion during fracture modification. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of calcite veins with distinct flaw inclinations on the stretch strength and destruction pattern of shale. In the text, we reconstructed 3D numericalmodels of shale with seven groups of different calcite vein inclinations using CT scanning of shale specimens from the Niutitang Formation in the Feng’gang No. 3 block in the northern part of Guizhou Province and performed Brazilian splitting simulation tests. Research shows the effect of the calcite vein angle on the ultimate tensile strength and damage mode of shale, and the damage modes mainly include tensile damage, tensile-shear damage, pressure-shear damage and compression damage. Calcite veins have a significant structural effect on the tensile strength of shale. Due to the change in calcite vein inclination, the stress decomposition on the specimen acts on the positive and shear stresses along the calcite vein direction changes significantly, which results in a large difference in the splitting stress between calcite veins and shale matrix when destabilization damage occurs. The research efforts have a key impact on the crack mechanism of shale hydraulic fracturing, fracture expansion law and the improvement of shale gas recovery rate.

      • Research on an Improved Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm for Solving Traveling Salesmen Problem

        In order to improve the search result and low evolution speed, and avoid the tendency towards stagnation and falling into the local optimum of ant colony optimization(ACO) in solving the complex function, the traditional ant colony optimization algorithm is analyzed in detail, an improved ant colony optimization(IWSMACO) algorithm based on information weight factor and supervisory mechanism is proposed in this paper. In the proposed IWSMACO algorithm, the information weight factor is added to the path selection and pheromone adjustment mechanisms in order to dynamically adjust path selection probability and randomly select the behavior rules for further intelligentializing the ant colony. The supervisory mechanism added the dynamic convergence criterion of supervisory distance and used the optimal pheromone update strategy to self-adaptively select the excellent ants for updating the pheromone trails, and improve the solution qualities of each iteration, better guide the later ants for learning. Finally, the proposed IWSMACO algorithm is carried out by 12 TSP instances. The simulation experiment results show that the proposed IWSMACO algorithm can not only avoid falling into the local optimum, but also enhance the convergence speed. And it takes on remarkable optimized ability and higher search accuracy.

      • An Improved Positioning Algorithm of Wireless Sensor Network Based on Differential Evolution

        Localization as a key problem of wireless sensor network technology, has been the subject of widespread attention. This paper presents an improved positioning algorithm of wireless sensor network based on differential evolution(DE). Firstly, the algorithm improves on each jump distance measurement method in the traditional DV-hop algorithm, thereby reducing distance estimation error between anchor nodes and the unknown nodes, and then through the DE algorithm to obtain better positioning accuracy. Simulation results show that improved positioning algorithm has improved significantly in positioning accuracy compared to the previous DE positioning algorithm and least-squares algorithm, under different error factor and the density of anchor nodes. The algorithm has features of good robustness, global search capability and the ability to inhibit the accumulation of errors, suitable for a variety of applications in wireless sensor networks localization.

        Protective association of Klotho rs495392 gene polymorphism against hepatic steatosis in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients

        Background/Aims: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is closely associated with metabolic dysfunction. Among the multiple factors, genetic variation acts as important modifiers. Klotho, an enzyme encoded by the klotho (KL) gene in human, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of metabolic dysfunctions. However, the impact of variants in KL on NAFLD risk remains poorly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of KL rs495392 C>A polymorphism on the histological severity of NAFLD. Methods: We evaluated the impact of the KL rs495392 polymorphism on liver histology in 531 Chinese with NAFLD and replicated that in the population-based Rotterdam Study cohort. The interactions between the rs495392, vitamin D, and patatin-like phospholipase domain containing 3 (PNPLA3) rs738409 polymorphism were also analyzed. Results: Carriage of the rs495392 A allele had a protective effect on steatosis severity (odds ratio [OR], 0.61; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.42–0.89; P=0.010) in Chinese patients. After adjustment for potential confounders, the A allele remained significant with a protective effect (OR, 0.66; 95% CI, 0.45–0.98; P=0.040). The effect on hepatic steatosis was confirmed in the Rotterdam Study cohort. Additional analysis showed the association between serum vitamin D levels and NAFLD specifically in rs495392 A allele carriers, but not in non-carriers. Moreover, we found that the rs495392 A allele attenuated the detrimental impact of PNPLA3 rs738409 G allele on the risk of severe hepatic steatosis. Conclusions: The KL rs495392 polymorphism has a protective effect against hepatic steatosis in patients with NAFLD.

        A Study of Urodynamic Parameters at Different Bladder Filling Stages for Predicting Upper Urinary Tract Dilatation

        Purpose: To identify more accurate predictors of upper urinary tract dilatation (UUTD) in neurogenic bladder (NB) children, we studied the relationship among urodynamic parameters at different bladder filling stages, detrusor leak point pressure (DLPP) and UUTD. Methods: A total of 158 children (3–16 years) with NB were included and then divided into 2 groups according to whether their NB diagnosis was complicated with UUTD: the UUTD group (39 patients) and those without UUTD group (control group, 119 patients). The bladder filling phase was divided into 3 equal parts: the early, middle, and end filling stages. The bladder compliance (BC) and detrusor pressure (△Pdet) at each phase and DLPP at the end filling stage were recorded. Results: A BC<8 mL/cm H2O both in the middle and end stages is more specific than a BC<9 mL/cm H2O in the end stage (72%, 73%, vs. 66%), and △Pdet >8 cm H2O in the early stage, 20 cm H2O in the middle stage and 25 cm H2O in the end stage are more sensitive than △Pdet >40 cm H2O in the end stage (82%, 85%, 85%, vs. 49%). A DLPP cutoff value of 20 cm H2O showed higher sensitivity for predicting UUTD than 40 cm H2O. Conclusions: Low BC and a high △Pdet in the middle and end filling stages are more accurate factors than classic indicators for predicting UUTD. In addition, a DLPP value of >20 cm H2O in the end bladder filling stage shows high sensitivity.

        The Route for Ultra-High Recording Density Using Probe-Based Data Storage Device

        Phase-change probe memory using Ge2Sb2Te5 has been considered as one of the promising candidates as next-generation data storage device due to its ultra-high density, low energy consumption, short access time and long retention time. In order to utmostly mimic the practical setup, and thus fully explore the potential of phase-change probe memory for 10 Tbit/in2 target, some advanced modeling techniques that include threshold-switching, electrical contact resistance, thermal boundary resistance and crystal nucleation-growth, are introduced into the already-established electrothermal model to simulate the write and read performance of phasechange probe memory using an optimal media stack design. The resulting predictions clearly demonstrate the capability of phase-change probe memory to record 10 Tbit/in2 density under pico Joule energy within micro second period.

      • Synthesis of Porous Carbon Supported Palladium Nanoparticle Catalysts by Atomic Layer Deposition: Application for Rechargeable Lithium–O<sub>2</sub> Battery

        <P>In this study, atomic layer deposition (ALD) was used to deposit nanostructured palladium on porous carbon as the cathode material for Li–O<SUB>2</SUB> cells. Scanning transmission electron microscopy showed discrete crystalline nanoparticles decorating the surface of the porous carbon support, where the size could be controlled in the range of 2–8 nm and depended on the number of Pd ALD cycles performed. X-ray absorption spectroscopy at the Pd K-edge revealed that the carbon supported Pd existed in a mixed phase of metallic palladium and palladium oxide. The conformality of ALD allowed us to uniformly disperse the Pd catalyst onto the carbon support while preserving the initial porous structure. As a result, the charging and discharging performance of the oxygen cathode in a Li–O<SUB>2</SUB> cell was improved.         Process control language (PCL) realized in Z-80 STD system is a kind of high-level language used in process control. Besides the basic statements of CBASIC, it provides 11 control definition statements, 8 auxiliary definition statements, 5 process functions and 13 control commands. The PCL interprets definition statements once, then builds a nacessary data area. And the control functions are realized by the interrupt service programs. Therefore, the PCL has the advantages of both interactive language and machine language.

        Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a global health problem that causes major illnesses and disabilities worldwide. Epidemiologic studies have demonstrated that the prevalence of AR has increased progressively over the last few decades in more developed countries and currently affects up to 40% of the population worldwide. Likewise, a rising trend of AR has also been observed over the last 2-3 decades in developing countries including China, with the prevalence of AR varying widely in these countries. A survey of self-reported AR over a 6-year period in the general Chinese adult population reported that the standardized prevalence of adult AR increased from 11.1% in 2005 to 17.6% in 2011. An increasing number of original articles and imporclinical trials on the epidemiology, pathophysiologic mechanisms, diagnosis, management and comorbidities of AR in Chinese subjects have been published in international peer-reviewed journals over the past 2 decades, and substantially added to our understanding of this disease as a global problem. Although guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of AR in Chinese subjects have also been published, they have not been translated into English and therefore not generally accessible for reference to non-Chinese speaking international medical communities. Moreover, methods for the diagnosis and treatment of AR in China have not been standardized entirely and some patients are still treated according to regional preferences. Thus, the present guidelines have been developed by the Chinese Society of Allergy to be accessible to both national and international medical communities involved in the management of AR patients. These guidelines have been prepared in line with existing international guidelines to provide evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis and management of AR in China.
