        Study on the performance of different discharging devices of a continuous production system

        Based on the developed continuous production system of sodium phenol carboxylation reaction, severaltypes of discharging devices are proposed, which are suitable for the case where the transported particles are not easyto maintain a stable state in the transported fluid. Numerical simulations of the gas-solid two-phase flow characteristicsand particle distribution were performed with DPM, and the particle retention ratio and fluid loss degree were proposedto investigate the performance of the discharging devices. The results of simulations and industrial experimentsshowed that a guide plate installed in the “B” discharging device can solve the accumulation problem, realize the efficientand continuous delivery of the particles, and maintain a uniform distribution of particles. This study can providea reference for the design of a gas-solid two-phase discharging device, and guide the industrial experimental operationand modification of continuous production systems for sodium phenol carboxylation.

        A diagnosis method for imbalanced bearing data based on improved SMOTE model combined with CNN-AM

        A boundary enhancement and Gaussian mixture model (G) optimized synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) algorithm (BE-G-SMOTE) is proposed to improve diagnostic accuracy under imbalanced bearing fault data conditions. It is designed to solve the problem that the diversity of samples generated by the original SMOTE model is limited, as well as the deep learning model is limited by the size of training samples and processing speed. Firstly, a few bearing fault data are clustered by G to achieve cluster division. Secondly, according to the cluster density distribution function designed in this paper, the weights of different clusters and sample weights to achieve intra-class balance are determined and data quality is improved. Then, to take full advantage of the limited fault data, based on the sensitivity of the support vector machine (SVM) to imbalanced data, the enhanced boundary is established between generated data and the SVM classifier under different penalty factor (PF) values. According to the accuracy, the optimal PF is determined, and fault datasets satisfying diversity are obtained. To improve the classification accuracy, a convolutional neural network with an attention mechanism is built. Finally, analysis using two practical cases shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

        Effectiveness and safety of nab- paclitaxel and platinum as first-line chemotherapy for ovarian cancer: a retrospective study

        Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of nab-paclitaxel plus platinum as first-line chemotherapy for ovarian cancer (OC). Methods: Patients administered platinum combined with nab-paclitaxel as first-line chemotherapy for epithelial OC, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer from July 2018 to December 2021 were retrospectively evaluated. The primary outcome was progression-free survival (PFS). Adverse events (AEs) were examined. Subgroup analysis was performed. Results: Seventy-two patients (median age, 54.5 years; range, 20.0–79.0 years) were evaluated, including 12 and 60 administered neoadjuvant therapy and primary surgery with subsequent chemotherapy, respectively. The median follow-up duration was 25.6 months, and the median PFS was 26.7 (95% confidence interval [CI]=24.0–29.3) months in the whole patient population. In the neoadjuvant subgroup, the median PFS was 26.7 (95% CI=22.9–30.5) months vs. 30.1 (95% CI=23.1–37.1) months in the primary surgery subgroup. Twenty-seven patients were administered nab-paclitaxel plus carboplatin and had a median PFS of 30.3 (95% CI=not available [NA]–NA) months. The commonest grade 3–4 AEs included anemia (15.3%), white blood cell decreased (11.1%), and neutrophil count decreased (20.8%). No drug-related hypersensitivity reactions occurred. Conclusion: Nab-paclitaxel plus platinum as first-line treatment in OC was associated with a favorable prognosis and was tolerable in patients with OC.

        Comparative Analysis of Gut Microbial Communities in Children under 5 Years Old with Diarrhea

        Diarrhea is a global disease with a high morbidity and mortality rate in children. In this study, 25 fecal samples were collected from children under 5 years old. Seven samples had been taken from healthy children without diarrhea and marked as the healthy control group; eight samples had been sampled from children with diarrhea caused by dyspepsia and defined as the non-infectious group; and ten samples had been taken from children with diarrhea induced by intestinal infections and identified as the infectious group. We detected the microbial communities of samples by using high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. The proportion of aerobic and facultative anaerobic microbes in samples of the infectious group was much higher than in the non-infectious group. In addition, the relative abundance of Enterococcus in the healthy control group was significantly higher than in the non-infectious group and infectious group. This can be used as a potential diagnostic biomarker for diarrhea.
