A facile hydrothermal route was used to synthesize silver nanoparticle (AgNP)-decorated microflower molybdenum disulfide (MoS2-MF) for bio-electrochemical platform fabrication to detect nonenzymatic glucose concentration. The morphologies of the materials were studied by scanning electron microscopy, and their structural characteristics were analyzed by X-ray diffractometry and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The electrochemical characteristics of the AgNPs/MoS2-MF/PtE biosensor were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The obtained data indicated that the developed nonenzymatic glucose sensor has a large linear response between 1.0 and 15.0 mM, a limit of detection of as low as 1.0 mM, and a sensitivity of 46.5 μA nM-1 cm-2. The biosensor also displayed outstanding selectivity, stability, reproducibility, and repeatability. Additionally, the AgNPs/MoS2-MF/ PtE biosensor was utilized to detect glucose concentration in real sample and showed practical application potential for glucose detection.

Purpose: This article focuses on exploring the associations between job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. Specifically, this study estimates the impacts of Vietnamese employees’ job satisfaction on their organizational commitment and turnover intention in FDI enterprises. Research design, data and methodology: The measures are adapted from previous studies to develop a questionnaire with a seven-point Likert scale. The dataset is directly collected from 227 respondents who are employees at FDI enterprises situated in the North of Vietnam. The dataset is analyzed by quantitative approaches using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. Results: The results show that while turnover intention is positively correlated with monthly income, it is negatively correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Also, organizational commitment is positively associated with job satisfaction among employees at FDI enterprises in Vietnam. Conclusions: The findings of this study will serve as useful references for administrators of FDI enterprises and policymakers to promote employees’ job satisfaction and retain skilled employees.
Effect of precursors on Cu2S counter electrode on the quantum dot sensitized solar cell performance

Counter electrode of Cu2S on fuorine-doped tin oxide glass, which was synthesized by chemical bath deposition method in a nitrogen-purged environment with varying precursors and temperatures, is used for quantum dot sensitized solar cell fabrication. The morphology, composition and crystalline structure of the Cu2S flm were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray and X-ray difraction analysis. Electrochemical properties of the Cu2S flm were measured by cyclic voltammetry measurement and the highest performance of JSC=18.2 mA/cm2 , VOC=0.57 V, FF=0.38 and η=3.94% were recorded in the cell fabricated by the mixture of CuSO4 and Na2S2O3 precursors (1.0/1.0 ratio). It is the result of the enhancement of electrocatalytic activity, charge transfer and collection, and excited electron lifetime.
Examining FDI Spillover Effects on Productivity Growth: Firm-Level Evidence from Vietnam

The relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and firm productivity still greatly concerns many researchers. Even though this topic has provided rich insight into the impacts of FDI spillovers, limited empirical research has been conducted to figure out the heterogeneous impact of such spillovers in the case of Vietnam. In this study, which employs the generalized methods of moments to investigate a sample of 537,772 enterprises operating in Vietnam in the period from 2007 to 2015, we examine how spillovers occur and how they can affect domestic firms’ productivity. Intra-industrial and regional spillovers impact negatively on the productivity of domestic firms. Regarding intra-industrial spillovers, only backward ones positively affect local productivity.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In a search for anti-inflammatory activity in resources from Vietnamese mangroves, we found that a methanolic extract from the leaves of <I>Calophyllum inophyllum</I> (CIL) showed significant anti-inflammatory effects <I>in vitro</I>. Using various chromatographic techniques, we subsequently isolated 12 compounds (<B>1</B>–<B>12</B>) from a methanolic extract of CIL, including two novel compounds (<B>1</B>–<B>2</B>). The inhibitory effects of these compounds on lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW264.7 cells were also evaluated. Compound <B>1</B> significantly suppressed NO production (IC<SUB>50</SUB> = 2.44 ± 0.88 µM), the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines (including interleukin-1 beta and tumor necrosis factor alpha), and the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase through downregulation of nuclear factor-kappa-B signaling cascades. The present study investigated the adhesion and corrosion resistance of subsequent electrophoretic paint (E-paint) on "electroless" paint coated AZ31 Mg alloy, which was formed by immersion of AZ31 Mg alloy in E-painting solution. It was found that with increasing immersion time of AZ31 in E-painting solution, the amount of paint deposited by electroless process increased but it decreased the electrochemical equivalent of E-painting process and the adhesion of the subsequent E-paint layer. The E-paint on electroless paint coated AZ31 contained pores with the highest pore density and the largest pore size was obtained on the samples with electroless times of 2 and 5 minutes, respectively. Results of the salt-spray test showed an accelerated growth of blisters over the entire surface of the sample immersed for less than 5 minutes whereas blisters were observed only in the vicinity of the scratch in case of samples treated for 15 and 30 minutes. The E-paint on AZ31 with shorter electroless immersion time in E-painting solution was found to have good adhesion and better corrosion resistance.

In this study, zinc phosphate and magnesium phosphate conversion coatings were formed on AZ31 Mg alloy (AZ31) by immersion treatment in zinc phosphate and magnesium phosphate conversion coating (ZPCC and MPCC) solutions. The coatings were characterized by a scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The corrosion behavior and corrosion resistance of coatings were studied by immersion test, potentiodynamic polarization curves and salt-spray tests (SST) with and without paints coated by electrophoretic deposition. During the immersion test, corrosion initiated much slowly on the MPCC than ZPCC. The ZPCC-coated samples showed pitting corrosion while filiform corrosion was observed on the MPCC-coated samples. Although ZPCC showed thicker coating, more positive corrosion potential and lower corrosion current density than MPCC, but it was very susceptible to corrosion under salt-spray conditions comparing with MPCC. The electropainted MPCC also showed much longer stability under salt-spray conditions than electropainted ZPCC. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
