        Dynamic stress of impeller blade of shaft extension tubular pump device based on bidirectional fluid-structure interaction

        Current research on the stability of tubular pumps is mainly concerned with the transient hydrodynamic characteristics. However, the structural response under the influence of fluid-structure interaction hasn’t been taken fully into consideration. The instability of the structure can cause vibration and cracks, which may threaten the safety of the unit. We used bidirectional fluid-structure interaction to comprehensively analyze the dynamic stress characteristics of the impeller blades of the shaft extension tubular pump device. Furthermore, dynamic stress of impeller blade of shaft extension tubular pump device was solved under different lift conditions of 0° blade angle. Based on Reynolds-average N-S equation and SST k-ω turbulence model, numerical simulation was carried out for three-dimensional unsteady incompressible turbulent flow field of the pump device whole flow passage. Meanwhile, the finite element method was used to calculate dynamic characteristics of the blade structure. The blade dynamic stress distribution was obtained on the basis of fourth strength theory. The research results indicate that the maximum blade dynamic stress appears at the joint between root of inlet side of the blade suction surface and the axis. Considering the influence of gravity, the fluctuation of the blade dynamic stress increases initially and decreases afterwards within a rotation period. In the meantime, the dynamic stress in the middle part of inlet edge presents larger relative fluctuation amplitude. Finally, a prediction method for dynamic stress distribution of tubular pump considering fluid-structure interaction and gravity effect was proposed. This method can be used in the design stage of tubular pump to predict dynamic stress distribution of the structure under different operating conditions, improve the reliability of pump impeller and analyze the impeller fatigue life.

        Numerical study on the internal flow characteristics of an axial-flow pump under stall conditions

        When an axial-flow pump works in low flow rate conditions, rotating stall phenomena will probably occur, and the pump will enter hydraulic unsteady conditions. The rotating stall can lead to violent vibration, noise, turbulent flow, and a sharp drop in efficiency. This affects the safety and stability of the pump unit. To study the rotating stall flow characteristics of an axial-flow pump, the steady and unsteady internal flow field in a large vertical axial-flow pump was investigated using 3D computational fluid dynamic (CFD) technology. Numerical calculations were carried out using the Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) solver and Menter's shear stress transport (SST) k-ω turbulence model. Steady flow characteristics including streamline, velocity vector, pressure and turbulent kinetic energy are presented and analyzed. Unsteady flow characteristics are described using post-processing signals for pressure monitoring points in the time and frequency domains. Using Q-criterion, the locations and evolution rules of the core region of the vortex structure in guide vanes under deep stall conditions were investigated. The reliability of the numerical simulation results was verified using the experimental prototype pressure fluctuation test. In this way, typical flow structure and pressure fluctuation characteristics in an axial-flow pump were analyzed, with contrastive analysis in design condition and stall conditions. Finally, the mechanism of low-frequency pressure fluctuation in a pump unit under the stall condition was revealed.

        『閒汨董』 所載 <韋生傳> 硏究

        This article is focused on ‘the significance of excavated material < Wisaengjeon > which takes 『Hangoldong』 as the subject material, and the misunderstanding about < Wigyungcheonjeon >’. 『Hangoldong』 may have been transcribed in the mid-seventeen century by a transcriber who lived in a period near the disturbances of war. Summaries of inquiry are as followed: ① So far there exist several kinds of < Wisaengjeon >, including ‘kan Ho Yun’ version of < Wisaengjeon >, Korean version of < Wi Dyeon >, ‘Jeo Cho’ version and ‘Yu Jae Young’ version in one category, and < Wigyungcheonjeon > based on 『Godamyoram』 which is along a different path of transcription in the other category. The official title is < Wisaengjeon >. ② The < Wisaengjeon > category is closer to the original copy, while the < Wigyungcheonjeon > was transcribed from a different version copied out of the same bottom book with the < Wisaengjeon >’s. ③ The transcriber of 『Hangoldong』 presumably had experienced the disturbances of war, was morally indignant at invaders, was a person of wide reading, and was an righteous intellectual in a noble family who had an indistinct consciousness of novels. ④ While it can be said that < Wigyungcheonjeon > has lower-quality sentences and less tension compared to < Jusaengjeon >, < Wisaengjeon > may be generously assessed. ⑤ Issues of the representative version and the author of < Wisaengjeon >, which have not been dealt with in this article, may still remain as the future subjects. Particularly, the authors can be studied in the positive point of view, by connecting the Korean version of < Wi Dyeon > with the 『Hangoldong』-based < Wisaengjeon >. Additional articles are expected regarding this matter. In conclusion, clear solutions about authors and in-depth discussions on literary works are encouraged, by informing fellows, seniors and gentlemen that ‘Gan Ho Yun’ version of < Wisaengjeon > has been added to the history of Chinese novels in 17th century.

        Analysis of East Asia subgroup in Study 309/KEYNOTE-775: lenvatinib plus pembrolizumab versus treatment of physician’s choice chemotherapy in patients with previously treated advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer

        Objective: In the global phase 3 Study 309/KEYNOTE-775 (NCT03517449) at the first interimanalysis, lenvatinib+pembrolizumab significantly improved progression-free sur vival (PFS),overall sur vival (OS), and objective response rate (ORR) versus treatment of physician’schoice chemotherapy (TPC) in patients with previously treated advanced/recurrentendometrial cancer (EC). This explorator y analysis evaluated outcomes in patients enrolledin East Asia at the time of prespecified final analysis. Methods: Women ≥18 years with histologically confirmed advanced, recurrent, or metastaticEC with progressive disease after 1 platinum-based chemotherapy (2 if 1 given in neoadjuvant/adjuvant setting) were enrolled. Patients were randomized 1:1 to lenvatinib 20 mg orallyonce daily plus pembrolizumab 200 mg intravenously ever y 3 weeks (≤35 cycles) or TPC(doxorubicin or paclitaxel). Primar y endpoints were PFS per RECIST v1.1 by blindedindependent central review and OS. No alpha was assigned for this subgroup analysis. Results: Among 155 East Asian patients (lenvatinib+pembrolizumab, n=77; TPC, n=78),median follow-up time (data cutoff: March 1, 2022) was 34.3 (range, 25.1–43.0) months. Hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence inter vals (CIs) for PFS (lenvatinib+pembrolizumabvs. TPC) were 0.74 (0.49–1.10) and 0.64 (0.44–0.94) in the mismatch repair proficient(pMMR) and all-comer populations, respectively. HRs (95% CI) for OS were 0.68 (0.45–1.02)and 0.61 (0.41–0.90), respectively. ORRs were 36% with lenvatinib+pembrolizumab and 22%with TPC (pMMR) and 39% and 21%, respectively (all-comers). Treatment-related adverseevents occurred in 97% and 96% (grade 3–5, 74% and 72%), respectively. Conclusion: Lenvatinib+pembrolizumab provided clinically meaningful benefit withmanageable safety compared with TPC, supporting its use in East Asian patients withpreviously treated advanced/recurrent EC.         Preparation of Layered Aramid Nanomembranes by Vacuum Assisted Filtration Using Water and Ethanol as Proton Donors

        In this paper, two kinds of proton donors, including water and ethanol, are introduced to prepare aramid nanofibers(ANFs) films. The formation mechanism of ANFs films and the influence of water and ethanol have been investigated. Themain formation mechanism was demonstrated that ANFs could self-assemble into layered structure during the filtrationprocess. The results showed that the ANFs films with water as proton donor had a tensile strength of 186.01 MPa and initialthermal decomposition temperature of 503.89 °C, which was 52.68 % and 11.79 % higher than those of the films preparedwith ethanol as proton donor. Meanwhile, compared with spin coating and layer by layer self-assembly methods, vacuumassisted filtration was proved as an effective method to prepare the functional ANFs nanomembranes with highly regular andlayered structures.

        Effects of Hybrid Lipid Concentration on Equilibrium Domain Size in a Lipid Bilayer Immersed in Water

        The effects of introducing hybrid lipids to a lipid bilayer containing saturated and unsaturated lipids immersed in water were studied. The lipid and water molecules were modeled as coarsegrained particles. All particles were simulated by using the dissipative particle dynamics method. The results showed that the hybrid lipids accumulated at the interface between the saturated and the unsaturated lipid domains. The relation between the hybrid lipid concentration and the equilibrium domain size was obtained. Moreover, the sizes of the simulated lipid domains are consistent with that given by the lipid raft definition.

      • Differentiating allotropic LiCoO<sub>2</sub>/Li<sub>2</sub>Co<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>: A structural and electrochemical study

        In situ high-energy X-ray diffraction was carried out to investigate the structural transformation of lithium cobalt oxides during the solid-state synthesis. Two allotropic phases were observed during the synthesis process; Li<SUB>2</SUB>Co<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> with a spinel structure was formed within the temperature window between 450 <SUP>o</SUP>C and 650 <SUP>o</SUP>C, beyond which Li<SUB>2</SUB>Co<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> was converted to its hexagonal counterpart, layered LiCoO<SUB>2</SUB>, through a cation exchange between Li and Co. In electrochemical tests, the Li<SUB>2</SUB>Co<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> was estimated to have a very low reversible capacity, ~20 mAh g<SUP>-1</SUP>, and a high initial irreversible capacity loss of about 80 mAh g<SUP>-1</SUP>. An interfacial phase between layered LiCoO<SUB>2</SUB> domain and spinel Li<SUB>2</SUB>Co<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB> domain was also identified by ex situ high-resolution X-ray diffraction.

      • Sarcocystosis and Toxoplasmosis in Malaysia

        Sarcocystosis and toxoplasmosis are caused by coccidian parasites which infect a wide range of vertebrate definitive and intermediate hosts, including man. Human sarcocystosis and toxoplamosis are basically zoonotic infections as animals reservoir hosts for these tissue coccidians have been demonstrated in a wide range of wild and domestic animals. The prevalence and distribution of these parasitic infections as well as the social cultural factors which affect the distribution of these zoonotic infections among the different ethnic and age groups in Malaysia are discussed.

      • The Comparative Efficacy of Albendazole and other Anthelmintics in the Treatment of Trichuris trichiura Infections

        鞭蟲感染에 對한 Albendazole의 驅蟲效果를 다른 廣範圍 驅蟲濟들과 比較하여보았다. Oxantel pyrantel pamoate, mebendazole, flubendazole과 Albendazole의 一回 및 數回 投藥시 蟲卵感少率은 80%以上(82.9∼94.5%)이였다. 上記 네가지 驅蟲濟의 一回投藥에서 7.1∼36.1의 낮은 治療率을 얻었으나 數回投藥時 그 치료율은 52.0∼66.8여서 單回投藥時보다 높은 治療效果를 얻었다. 一面albendazole의 單回投藥인 경우 蟲卵感少率은 87.8%∼91.5이어서 그 감소율은 매우 높았으며 集團 投藥效果를 올리는데 albendazole의 一回投藥임을 알 수 있었다.
