SDSS 자료를 이용한 z<0.01 필드은하의 자외광 특성

Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) DR7 분광자료를 이용하여 z < 0.01에 존재하는 필드(field) 은하 505개를 선별하였다. SDSS의 컬러 영상을 이용하여 필드은하들의 형태(morphology)를 타원은하/왜소타원은하, 렌즈은하/왜소렌즈은하, 나선은하, 그리고 불규칙은하로 분류하였으며, 이들 은하들에 대한 측광을 수행하였다. 한편, Galex Evolution Explorer (GALEX) 자외광 영상으로부터 선별된 은하들에 대한 자외광 측광도 수행하였다. 서로 다른 환경에 있는 은하들의 최근 별탄생 활동이 어떻게 변화하는지 파악하기 위하여 처녀자리은하단 (Virgo cluster)에 있는 은하들과 비교하여 필드은하들의 자외광-가시광 색-등급 분포를 조사하였다. 처녀자리은하단 은하들에 비하여 필드은하들은 작은 자외광-가시광색지수를 가지는 만기형 은하들의 비율이 높았다. 특히, 조기형 필드은하들의 색지수 값이 처녀자리은하단 조기형 은하들에 비해 전반적으로 더 작은 값을 나타내고, 이 특징은 질량이 작은 왜소은하에서 더욱 크게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 환경적 효과를 거의 받지 않는 필드은하들은 환경적 효과가 큰 은하단 은하들의 진화 연구에서 환경적 효과의 크기 및 기작을 규명하는 기본 자료로 사용될 수 있음을 토의하고자 한다.

Depressive disorder is a very common disease, clinical manifestations vary, and the mechanism is not clear. Therefore, a pharmacotherapy is very important to achieve sufficient therapeutic effect, but the choice of drug is not easy due to the occurrence of side effects of treatment and confusion with clinical features. It is easy to overlook the side effects of weight gain with antidepressants compared with antipsychotics, but they are frequently observed in clinical settings. The first-generation antidepressants have higher weight gains than selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors are observed to have less weight gain, and dopamine norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors have weight loss effect due to decreased appetite. Mirtazapine, an atypical antidepressant, has a strong histamine H1 blockade, and gains weight gain from short-term use. The effects of desvenlafaxine, vortioxetine, and agomelatin on weight, which have recently been increasing in use, have not been largely identified. For better compliance, studies on weight gain due to the use of antidepressants are needed.

Frost injury of crops is closely related to the epiphytic population dynamics of ice nucleation-active (INA) bacteria, and the injury can be reduced by decreasing the INA bacterial population. In order to predict the epiphytic population of INA bacteria on crops, a rapid and accurate detection method has to be developed. In the previous report, we produced some antibodies against INA proteins purified from the outer membrane of INA bacteria. However it was difficult to produce the antibodies because the purification procedures of the INA proteins were complicated, and the final yield was too low. We designed a specific peptide from the N-terminal region of INA protein by computer analysis and synthesized the peptide in vitro in this experiment. The peptide sequence was Asp-Ser-Por-Leu-Ser-Leu-His-Ala-Asp, that is corresponding to the highly conserved region in several INA proteins, with predicted beta turn, coiling, and hydrophilic region. A polyclonal anti-INA peptide antiserum produced specifically recognized INA bacteria as few as 10 colony-forming units (CFU) in the ELISA reactions and did not respond to other non-INA bacteria. Serological specificity of the anti-INA peptide antiserum will facilitate the forecasting of the INA bacterial population dynamics on crops.
양극성장애에 대한 Valproic Acid와 Olanzapine 치료 중 발생한 호산구증가증과 전신증상을 동반한 약물발진(DRESS) 증후군 1예

Drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome is a potentially life-threatening, medication-induced hypersensitivity reaction with long latency. It is characterized by fever, rash, leukocytosis with eosinophilia, atypical lymphocytosis, and internal organ involvement. The most common causes of DRESS syndrome are sulfonamides and anticonvulsants such as carbamazepine and lamotrigine. However, valproic acid and olanzapine could develop DRESS syndrome. We report a case of DRESS syndrome associated with valproic acid and olanzapine in a 41 years old male patient with bipolar disorder.
제강분진을 이용한 4-Chlorophenol의 펜톤유사 산화반응

The objective of this research was to investigate the role of steelers` dust as a catalytic reagent in H₂O₂/steelers` dust system. In acidic condition, FeO and Fe₂O₃ in steelers` dust could be dissociated to produce ferrous ion and ferric ion, which reacted with hydrogen peroxide to produce hydroxyl radicals and then degrade 4-chlorophenol. The batch experiments showed that 0.51 5mM 4-chlorophenol and its oxidation intermediates could be totally decomposed within 60 minutes by 1g/L steelers` dust and 0.485mM hydrogen peroxide at pH 2.7. The removal of 4-chlorophenol in H₂O₂/steelers` dust system was affected by the concentration of hydrogen peroxide rather than the dose of steelers` dust. The rate constants in the simplified kinetic model proposed in this study were estimated by fitting to the experimental data obtained in H₂O₂/steelers` dust system. Using the estimated kinetic rate constants, the simulation of 4-chlorophenol, ferrous iron, hydrogen peroxide, and hydroxyl radical concentration was performed. The predicted concentrations of 4-chlorophenol and hydrogen peroxide corresponded to the actual concentrations. The concentration of ferrous iron tended to be underestimated while that of hydroxyl radical was overestimated by the proposed model. For the experimental conditions conducted in this study, a value of 0.3mM hydroxyl radical could be suggested to calibrate the overestimated prediction.
