Purpose: This paper (1) identifies the factors that affect people's changing habits towards waste sorting, (2) evaluates the benefits of waste sorting to the environment and (3) designs communication strategies to change people's behavior and habits in sorting plastic waste in Ho Chi Mnh City, Vietnam. Research design, data and methodology: Using the data from 309 people that are living in Ho Chi Minh City and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), to evaluate variables and test the hypotheses. Results: Research results show that attitudes, subjective standards, behavioral control, and facilities affect people's intention to classify plastic waste. We find that environmental concerns greatly influence people's attitudes. In contrast, environmental concerns have a relatively weaker effect on people's degree of behavioral control. Conclusion: Environmental protection is a matter of concern in the world. In Vietnam, this issue has been institutionalized into law to create a basis for improving the effectiveness of environmental protection activities. This article has some limitations. Firstly, sample is limited to HCMC residents; the study results are not representative of the entire population of Vietnam. This paper is based on cross-sectional data, which is not the best way to establish a causal relationship between the intention to sort plastic waste and its drivers.

Purpose: Despite significant research on decision-making, researchers struggle to comprehend the decision-making process. This paper aims to not only examine the relationship between problem-solving skills, cognitive competency, and decision-making but also develop measurement instruments for cognitive competency and problem-solving skills to better model decision-making. Research Design, Methodology and Approach: A cross-sectional study was conducted by surveying 292 university students in HCM City, Vietnam, via email sent randomly by Google Forms. This study identifies the conceptual framework and tests the hypotheses using a deductive approach. The SPSS program was used to evaluate the scales' reliability, and the SmartPLS program was used to assess the measurement and structural models. Results: The results show that the research model better modelled the relationship between problem-solving skills, cognitive competency, and decision-making. Although thinking ability has no direct impact on decision-making, both creativity and problem-solving skills have a positive impact on decision-making. The mediating role of problem-solving skills is also determined by the positive relationship between cognitive competency and decision-making. Conclusions: This study highlights decision-making efficiency through the cognitive process from low to high levels and provides for policymakers and managers to explain the decisionmaking process in a variety of sectors, such as distribution chains, marketing, and human resource distribution.
Robust force control of a hybrid actuator using quantitative feedback theory

The use of hydraulic systems in industrial applications has become widespread due to their advantages in efficiency. In recent years, hybrid actuation systems, which combine electric and hydraulic technology into a compact unit, have been adapted to a wide variety of force, speed and torque requirements. A hybrid actuation system resolves energy consumption and noise problems characteristic of conventional hydraulic systems. A new, low-cost hybrid actuator using a DC motor is considered to be a novel linear actuator with various applications such as robotics, automation, plastic injection-molding, and metal forming technology. However, this efficiency gain is often accompanied by a degradation of system stability and control problems. In this paper, to satisfy robust performance requirements, tracking performance specifications, and disturbance attenuation requirements, the design of a robust force controller for a new hybrid actuator using Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT) is presented. A family of plant models is obtained from measuring frequency responses of the system in the presence of significant uncertainty. Experimental results show that the hybrid actuator can achieve highly robust force tracking even when environmental stiffness set-point force varies. In addition, it is understood that the new system reduces energy use, even though its response is similar to that of a valve-controlled system.
