Fundamental Study on Nutritional Evaluation for Rapeseed Meal

식물유자원으로서 사용이 증가되고 있는 유채에 대한 영양학적인 기초연구를 목적으로 유채의 일반성분, glucosinolate, amino acid 분석을 시도하였다. 또한 유채종자의 주 성분인 단백질의 품질을 측정하기 위하여 20% 수준의 단백질을 사료로 Wistar계 수컷쥐를 사육하여 사료효율(FER), 단백질효율(PER), 정미단백질효율(NPU), 소화율(TD) 및 생물가(BU)를 측장하였으며 장기중량과 혈액성분도 아울러 조사했다. 조단백질량은 탈지대두 45.5%, 탈지유채종자 37.9%였고, 조섬유량은 탈지대두 5.0%에 비료해서 탈지유채 종자에서는 10.5%로 약 2배였다. 또한 glucosinolate량은 0.04%였다. 탈지유채종자군은 탈지대두군과 비교해서 체중 증가에 유의차는 인정되지 않았으며, 동등한 성장을 나타냈다. 장기중량, 혈중성분에도 특별히 유의한 차이는 없었다. 또한 정미단백질효율도 유의차가 없었다. Rat에 의한 in vivo 실험에서 탈지유채 종자에 많이 함유된 단백질은 탈지대두단백질과 거의 동등한 영양적 가치를 갖는 것으로 생각되며, 앞으로 식품에의 응용 이용이 가능하다고 할 수 있다. This fundamental study was undertaken to evaluate the nutritional value of Canola rapeseed meal which has been increasingly used as a by-product with the demand for the food oil resource. To compare the nutritive values among rapeseed meal and soybean meal, two experiments were carried out by using rats. One was a digestibility test of rapeseed meal and the other was the growth rate of rats for 21 days. The chemical compositions, glucosinolate and amino acids of defatted rapeseed meal and defatted soybean meal were analyzed. After one week feeding, nitrogen excretion in rats was measured to study FER, PER, TD, BW, and NPU of the meals. The amount of crude proteins in defatted rapeseed meal and defatted soybean meal were 45.5% and 37.9%. The glucosinolate content of defatted rapeseed meal was 0.04%. The body weight gain of defatted rapeseed meal was not significantly different from that of defatted soybean meal(p>0.01). After one week feeding, there was no significant defferences in organ weights and serum components between two groups(p>0.01). It was presumed that the rapeseed meal has enough possibility for developing food to use as a protein source like a soybean meal protein. However, more careful experiments are needed to dlarify the nutritional value of rapeseed meal of Canola since the lipids composition of blood tended to be different when the rapeseed meal and soybean meal were used.

We have systematically investigated the magnetic and the dielectric properties of Eu0.595(Y1−xHox)0.405MnO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) single crystals with fine tunning of 4f magnetic momentswhile keeping the average size of the rare-earth (R) site the same. In the x = 0.3 crystal,the ferroelectric polarization along the c axis (Pc) emerges at 25 K; then, Pc is suppressed, andPa appears simultaneously with decreasing temperature. On further decreasing temperature, Padisappears and Pc appears again. The observed reentrant behavior of the Pc phase indicates thatthe Pa and the Pc phases are strongly competing with each other.

Dopamine supersensitivity psychosis (DSP) is a type of acute exacerbation of recurrent psychosis caused by long-term treatment with antipsychotics in schizophrenic patients. Although DSP is exceedingly troublesome for clinicians, effective treatment has not yet been established. Based on clinical research and our animal study, we hypothesize that aripiprazole, an atypical antipsychotic, may reduce the exacerbation of recurrent psychotic episodes. We report the case of a 46-year-old female who suffered from schizophrenia with DSP. In this case, sustained treatment with a high dose of aripiprazole gradually reduced the severity of her recurrent psychotic episodes. In conclusion, sustained treatment with aripiprazole may reduce the exacerbation of recurrent psychotic episodes in schizophrenic patients with DSP, and may be an effective treatment of DSP.

In large-scale disaster, operation support by robotic systems and information tools are useful. Advanced technology improves the efficiency and quality of search and rescue operation, and saves workers from risks, the worst environmental conditions and extreme fatigue. In this paper, necessary requirements of such systems are introduced on the basis of investigation in Hanshin-Awaji (Kobe) Earthquake. Some research and development of robotic systems and information technology support for emergency response mainly in Japan are introduced.
Effectiveness of music therapy on the activation level of cerebral function

The effectiveness of the musical therapy on cerebral function and cerebral blood flow is not clearly investigated. In this research, the relation between how to enjoy the music and activity level of cerebral function when listening to music or singing music was investigated. Based on the investigation results, the optimal presentation method of the music effecting on the activity level of the brain was proposed. In this study, the activity level of cerebral function was quantified in terms of the fluctuation of oxygenated hemoglobin (oxyHb). The fluctuation of the oxyHb and the RRI of heart rate were observed during each experiment. The Cardiac Sympathetic Index (CSI) of the sympathetic nerve and the Cardiac Vagal Index (CVI) of the parasympathetic nerve were used for the investigation. It was observed that making the level of CVI higher by listening to music after making the level of CSI higher by singing music is effective for increasing the level of oxyHb.
