        A Study on Continuous Intention to Use Smartwatch ECG and PPG Applications on Mediating Effects of TAM Model

        Smartwatches are wrist-mounted, therefore hold strong advantages because of their connection to the wrist and mount location. These characteristics have given smartwatches great opportunities in today’s health care and other applications market. The purpose of this study is to inspect the mediating effects of perceived ease of use, and perceived usefulness between important antecedent variables, and continuous intention to use smartwatch Electrocardiography (ECG) and Photoplethysmography (PPG) applications. The framework was extended by including Safety, Convenience, Affective Trust, and Cognitive trust. For this research, 340 samples were collected from Amazon Mechanical Turk, via an online survey and 331 respondents were found valid. The structural equation modeling technique was used since it allows simultaneous analysis. The results suggest that User Safety should be considered beyond experiential value and intention. This work robustly explores the continuous intention to use smartwatch ECG and PPG applications. But the primary purpose is to explore the affiliation among antecedents (i.e., Safety, Convenience, Affective Trust, Cognitive trust, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and continues intention to use). The results of the analyses show that Safety, Convenience, and Cognitive trust have positive impacts on perceived usefulness. Safety, Convenience, and Cognitive trust have positive impacts on perceived ease of use. A satisfactory overall model fit index supports most of the proposed hypotheses. The empirical findings of this research is intended to provide a new understanding and explain the fundamental mechanism under users’ decision-making process to trust and intention to use smartwatch ECG and PPG application.

        The Materialism and Conspicuous Consumption in South Korea

        Consumption of luxury on a lavish scale in order to increase one's prestige is referred to as conspicuous consumption. Conspicuous consumption is the act of buying products or services in order to showcase one's fortune and demonstrate one's social status, especially when products or services are displayed in public and are out of reach for other members of one's class. This study was conducted to examine the effects of Materialism and Conspicuous Consumption between some important antecedent variables and continuous intention. This framework was extended by including Self-Esteem, Public Self-Consciousness, Being Fashionable, and the Need for Uniqueness. The methodologies adopted for this study are conceptually and practically linked with previous studies, to grow on them while minimizing the limitations. The first phase was identifying the research objectives, scope, and research questions, as well as examining the literature, and creating and refining the research model. On the other hand, Materialism and Conspicuous Consumption to continuous intention are the focus of the second phase which was derived from the literature review and was empirically confirmed using data from an online survey. The third phase is analyzing the data and generating results. For this research, 276 samples were collected via an online survey and 270 respondents were found valid. The structural equation modeling technique was used since it allows simultaneous analysis. The model was examined using the data acquired for the research. This study used SmartPLS 3 and IBM SPSS version 20. This work robustly explores Materialism and Conspicuous Consumption. But the primary purpose is to explore the affiliation among antecedents (i.e., Self-Esteem, Public Self-Consciousness, Being Fashionable, Need for Uniqueness, Materialism, Conspicuous Consumption, and Continuous Intention). The results of the analyses show that Self-Esteem, Public Self-Consciousness, Being Fashionable, and the Need for Uniqueness have positive impacts on Conspicuous Consumption. Being Fashionable and the Need for Uniqueness have positive impacts on Materialism. A satisfactory overall model fit index supports most of the proposed hypotheses. The empirical findings of this research work provide a new understanding and explain the fundamental mechanism under users' decision-making process to Continuous intention.

      • The Mediating Effects of Hedonie Value, Health Interest and Utilitarian Value on Continuous Intention to Use in Glucose Monitoring Devices

        Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices are medical devices that continuously measure and display blood sugar levels in real time. A small sensor that is implanted just beneath the skin, a transmitter that transmits data from the sensor to a display device, and a display that shows the blood sugar levels in real-time are the typical components of these devices, the user might be warned via alarms on some CGM devices if their blood sugar levels are too high or too low [1]. Examining the fundamental mediating effects of the hedonic value, health interest, and utilitarian values between significant antecedents and continuous intention to use CGM devices is the general goal of this study. By integrating several significant antecedents to the hedonic and utilitarian values research framework, the study expanded the hedonic and utilitarian behavioral decision research model by adding health interest variable. The key antecedents included are Safety, interactivity, Result Accuracy, User interface, Self Efficacy, and Personal Innovativeness. The study also intends to improve user's comprehension of CGM device adoption and continue intention to use, the methodology used in the study is suitable for using an online survey to collect data and answer the research questions, the methodologies are also conceptually and practically linked with previous research, the focus of this research is on CGM devices systems having qualities that enable users to foel upbeat while using them and to have a good attitude toward using them in the future. This study were to use a complete approach to examine the data in a quantitative analysis, an expanded hedonic and utilitarian behavioral decision research framework for the adoption and continues intention to use CGM device. 109 samples were gathered from an online survey and 100 valid responses were analyzed after eliminating 9 invalid responses, the structural equation modeling technique was adopted for this study, it enables simultaneous analysis. SmartPLS 4.0 and IBM SPSS version 23 were used for the analysis. The results of the analyses show that Safety, Interactivity, Self-efficacy, Result Accuracy, User Interface, and Personal Innovativeness have positive impacts on hedonic value, health value, and utilitarian value to adoption and continuous using CGM devices. The majority of the offered hypotheses are supported by this study model's adequate overall model fit indices.

        시스템품질 요인이 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 인터넷보험을 중심으로

        With the development of information technology making it easier to share information and increasing the number of insurance consumers who are accustomed to using digital devices, interest in Internet insurance, in which insurance companies and insurance consumers decide their choice of insurance products on their own, is gradually increasing. Internet insurance is expected to grow dramatically due to convenience of use, low insurance premiums, composition of consumer-oriented products, various information disclosure and comparability with other companies. This study focuses on analyzing the relationship of system quality elements in Internet insurance with intent to use, users’ satisfaction, and intent to purchase. The factors that determine the nature of the quality of system were classified into convenience, flexibility, safety. The summary of the study is as follows. First, convenience had a significant effect on the intention to use. Second, flexibility had a significant effect on the intention to use. Third, safety had a significant effect on the intention to use. Fourth, convenience had a significant effect on users’ satisfaction. Fifth, flexibility had a significant effect on users satisfaction. Sixth, safety had a significant effect on users’ satisfaction. Seventh, the intention to use had a significant effect on the intention to purchase. Eighth, users’ satisfaction had a significant effect on the intention to the purchase. 정보기술(IT)의 발달로 정보 공유가 쉬워지고 디지털 기기 사용에 익숙한 보험소비자가 늘면서 보험소비자가 보험사와 보험상품 선택을 스스로 결정하는 인터넷보험에 대한 관심이 점차 높아지고 있다. 인터넷보험은 이용 편의성과 낮은 보험료, 소비자 중심의 상품 구성, 다양한 정보공개, 타사와의 비교 가능성 등으로 비약적 성장이 예상된다. 본 연구는 인터넷 보험의 사용의도, 사용자 만족도, 구매의도에 영향을 미치는 시스템품질의 구성요인을 분석하는 데 중점을 두고 있다. 시스템품질을 결정하는 요소는 편리성, 유연성, 안전성 등으로 분류됐다. 연구의 요약은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 편리성이 사용 의도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 유연성은 사용 의도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 안전성이 사용 의도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 편리성은 사용자 만족도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 다섯째, 유연성은 사용자 만족도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 여섯째, 안전성이 사용자 만족도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 일곱째, 사용의도가 구매의도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다. 여덟째, 사용자 만족도가 구매의도에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤다.

      • 통합관점의 기술준비지수와 도입 효과에 관한 연구

        한국의 식품의약국(FDA)은 환자가 약의 복용 여부를 의사에게 얄릴 수 있는 센서가 있는 의약품인 디지털 알약을 승인했다. 본 연구의 목적은 디지털 알약이 제기하는 윤리적, 사회적 문제를 진단하고 솔루션을 제공함으로써 디지털 알약의 올바른 사용에 기여하는 것이다. 첫째, 사용자가 우리의 삶을 건강하게 변화시키는 디지털 알약 혁명을 수용할 수 있는 좋은 인식을 준비 한다. 둘째, 디지털 알약의 채택을 위해 기술준비지수와 기술수용이론을 개발, 테스트 및 검증한다. 셋째, 디지털 알약의 채택에 대한 사용자의 이해와 계속 사용을 고려한다. 연구의 방법론은 온라인 설문조사를 통해 자료를 수집하고 실증적 연구를 수행한다. 디지털 알약의 기존연구의 한계를 최소화하면서, 디지털 알약의 필요성을 알리는 것을 목표로 기존연구의 개념적 연구와 실증적 연구를 연결한다. 문헌 검토에서 공식화된 기술준비지수 및 기술수용모델은 Amazon Mechanical Turk에서 수행된 온라인 설문조사에서 얻은 데이터로부터 실증적으로 검증되었다. 총 319개의 데이터 표본을 수집하고 9개의 무효 응답을 제거한 후 310개의 유효 응답을 분석했다. 본 연구에서는 구조방정식 기법을 사용하였다. 설문 분석에는 Smart PLS 3.0 및 IBM SPSS 버전 23.0이 사용되었다. 본 연구는 기술준비지수와 기술수용모델을 조사하였다. 선행연구를 통하여 기술준비지수와 도입 의도와의 관계를 살펴본다. 분석 결과는 낙관론, 혁신성, 불안정, 불편함이 인지된 사용 용이성에 긍정적 인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구의 실증적 공헌은 디지털 알약 사용에 의한 의사결정 과정의 중요한 메커니즘에 대한 이해와 설명이다. Korea's The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized digital tablets, which are pharmaceuticals with a sensor that may notify doctors whether or not patients are taking their medication. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the proper usage of digital pills, by highlighting the main ethical and social challenges it raises and providing solutions. The purpose are as follows. (1) to prepare a good perception for users to accept the digital pills revolution that is changing our lives health-wise, (2) to develop, test, and validate TRI and TAM for the adoption of digital pills, (3) to strengthen the user's understanding of the digital pill's adoption and continue to use, this study's methodology is appropriate for gathering data and addressing the research questions via an online survey. The methodologies are conceptually and practically linked with previous research, with the goal of building on them while minimizing the limitations of previous work. The TRI and TAM formulated from the literature review were empirically validated from data acquired in an online survey conducted on Amazon Mechanical Turk. ln total 319, samples were gathered and 310 valid responses were analyzed after eliminating 9 invalid responses. This study used the structural equation modeling technique, which allows for simultaneous analysis. SmartPLS 3.0 and TBM SPSS version 23.0 were used for the analysis. Moreover, this study investigates TRI and TAM, however, the primary purpose is to examine the relationship between antecedents' (TRI) technological readiness index and Adoption Intention. The results of the analyses show that optimism, innovativeness, discomfo1t, and Insecurity have positive impacts on perceived ease of use. The majority of the given hypotheses are supported by a satisfactory overall model fit index. The empirical findings of this study add to our understanding and explanation of the critical mechanism underlying digital pill users' adoption intention decision-making process.
