Saponin is the most pharmaceutical active ingredients of the ginseng plant, it was called “Ginsenoside” which means the Glycoside of ginseng that composed glycosides and aglycones. The human body will absorb the saponin easily if these substrate was decomposed by active microorganism. Fermentation is the most convenient technique to decompose this active ingredients. The purpose of this research was to study the sugar content, pH and acidity development during the ginseng fermentation process. Fresh Korean ginseng and red ginseng extract was used as the main ingredient. The concentrated of pure ginseng extract was added to increase the saponin extract. Furthermore, the mix microbial powder was added as starter to increase the fermentation efficiency. The ginseng was fermented in fermentation chamber at temperature 37℃ during 70 days. In the end of experiment the sugar content was decreased from 24% to 7.65%, The pH was decreased from 6.5 to 3.4, and the acidity level was incresed from 0% to 1.2%.
Modal and Stress Analysis of Spur Gear in DC Motor Gearhead using Finite Element Model

In electric agricultural machine the gearhead is needed to convert the high speed low torque rotation motion generated by DC motor to lower speed high torque motion used by the vehicle. The gearhead consist of several spur gears works as reduction gears. Spur gear have straight tooth and are parallel to the axis of the wheel. Spur gears are the most easily visualized gears that transmit motion between two parallel shafts and easy to produce. The modeling and simulation of spur gears in DC motor gearhead is important to predict the actual motion behavior. A pair of spur gear tooth in action is generally subjected to two types of cyclic stress: contact stress and bending stress including bending fatigue. The stress may not attain their maximum values at the same point of contact fatigue. These types of failure can be minimized by analysis of the problem during the design stage and creating proper tooth surface profile with proper manufacturing methods. To improve its life expectation in this study modal and stress analysis of gearhead is simulated using ansys work bench software based on finite element method (FEM). The modal analysis was done to understand gearhead deformation behaviour when vibration occurs. FEM static stress analysis is also simulated on gearhead to simulate the gear teeth bending stress and contact stress behavior. This methodology serves as an approach for gearhead design evaluation, and the study of gear stress behavior in DC motor gearhead which is needed in the small workshop scale industries.
Effect and Nutrient Content of Fermented Aloe Saponaria as Pigs Feed Additive Food

Aloe gel layer is well known as raw materials of medicines and cosmetics due to their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In aloe gel extracting process, the outer part of the leaf was removed. It contains high quality of fiber and many nutrients. However, this part is thrown away and generally used as fertilizer. The purpose of this research was to examine the important nutrient of Aloe saponaria. Moreover, the feasibility of using aloe as a dietary supplement by feeding fermentation treatment of aloe was investigated. To do this, the aloe leaf was divided into several parts including leaf skin, bottom of the leaf, tip of the leaf, middle of the leaf, and leaf flesh. Then the saponin content were analyzed from each part. The extraction method was used to clarify the saponin content. The aloe then fermented to improve it benefit. The fermented Aloe then given as dietary food to group of pig. Finally, the appropriate feed level was determined and the pork meat quality was analyzed. The extraction of saponin shows that the highest concentration of saponin located on the skin of the leaf. The feeding experiment shows that there is no significant difference in pig growth without aloe dietary food and groups with aloe as dietary food. It was conclude that fermented aloe can replace the pigs normal feeder as an alternative feeding solution.

This paper investigates the possibility to increase the economic value of the thinned young apple trough fermentation process. It is studies the optimal fermentation condition of thinned young apple by manipulating preparation treatment and sugar content. To do this following steps are done. Firstly, different preparation treatment for thinned young apple such as whole apple, cutting apple, and blending apple were done. The different sugar content such as 24° Brix, 15° Brix and 4° Brix was added. Secondly, the sugar contents and pH level were measured during fermentation process. Finally, statistical analysis was used to examine the relation between the preparation treatment, sugar content and pH level during the fermentation process. The experimental result shows that the different preparation treatment influences to the fermentation process. The blending apple treatment gave lower pH level compared to other kind treatments. The sugar content of thinned young apple was decrease during the fermentation process. The statistical analysis shows that the manipulation preparation treatment and sugar content affect the final pH level and whole fermentation process. Experimental result shows that the thinned young apple fermentation could be proposed as new alternative product in the market. The best fermentation process was obtained from blending thinned young apple treatment with 24° Brix.
Thermal Analysis of Cooling System In Crusher Machine for Dry Soybean Powder Production

Soybean powder is finely grounded derived soybeans product. It is a rich source of proteins, as well as iron, B vitamins and calcium. Soybean powder was used as main ingredient of whole beans tofu, soy milk, and it is added to a variety of products such as cereals, pudding, yogurt, cottage cheese, shakes and casseroles to add a pleasant texture and flavor. To make a high quality soybean powder, soybeans was crushed into small size using crusher machine. During crusher operation, heat was generated through friction and contact between soybeans and cutting tooth. To prevent oil extracted from soybeans, the crusher temperature should be kept under 60°C. Therefore, cooling system is needed. The purpose of this research is to analyze the temperature variation occurred during crusher machine operation and to understand the effect of cooling system to the crusher machine. Moreover, the analysis was used to predict the temperature behavior and clarify the effectiveness of the proposed cooling system. The thermal analysis simulation was done using ANSYS Fluent 15. Firstly, 3D model of crusher housing was created. The model then simplified and the geometry model was obtained. In addition, the mesh of the model was generated. The materials properties were defined and the boundary condition was determined. Finally, problem was solved, visualized and the results was shown. The normal cumulative contact energy was obtained from cutting simulation based on discrete element method. This energy was dissipated as heat that increases the temperature of crusher machine. In this simulation, the initial temperature of inner side of housing is 70°C. The environment temperature is 28°C. The water cooler temperature was varied from 5°C to 20°C. The final temperature after 10 second was observed. The simulation result shows that the temperature on the middle of housing after 10 second using 5°C cooler is less than 30°C, using 10°C cooler is less than 40°C, using 15°C cooler is less than 50°C, and using 20 °C cooler is less than 60°C as a result. It was found that optimal temperature of water cooler is between 5 °C and 10°C. This work helps the soybeans crusher machine developer make a better product at the early design stage with lower cost and faster development time.

The Aloe saponaria plant has been known and used for centuries for its health, beauty, medicinal and skin care properties. On the other hand, Aloe saponaria also contain anti nutrition compounds namely saponin which leads negative effect. Other kind of Aloe known is Aloe vera. The aim of the study was to investigate the saponin content from each part of Aloe plant to maximize it benefits and advantages. In order to know the higher saponin content, this study was comparing between Aloe saponaria and Aloe vera. The saponin content were analyzed from five part of Aloe leaf such as tip of the leaf, middle of the leaf, bottom of the leaf, leaf skin and leaf flesh. To do this, following are done. Total saponin content was identified by extraction. The procedure was performed by modifying the four thermal processing methods by Xu and Chang, 2009. The saponin analysis shows that the skin (S) of the Aloe leaf contains highest concentration of saponin compare to the other part, on both of Aloe species leaf. Those are 1.519±0.048 mg/g for Aloe saponaria and 1.212±0.035 mg/g for Aloe vera respectively. The highest water content obtained in mesophyll tissue (IS). Up to 98% the mesophyll tissue contains with water.
Design Optimization of DC Motor Gearbox for Electric Agricultural Vehicle Based on Genetic Algorithm

In electric agricultural machine the gearbox is used to increase torque and lower the output speed of the motor shaft. The gearbox consist of several shafts, helical gears and spur gears works in series. Optimization plays an important role in gear design as reducing the weight or volume of a gear set will increase its service life and improve the bearing capacity. In this paper the basic design parameters for gear like shaft diameter and face width are considered as the input variables. The bending stress and material volume is considered as the objective function. ANSYS was used to investigates the bending stress when the variable was changed. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used to obtained the mathematical model of the system based on the bending stress behaviour. The ANN was used since the output system is nonlinear. The Genetic Algorithm (GA) technique of optimization is used to obtain the optimized values of shaft diameter and face width on the pinion based on the ANN mathematical model and the results are compared as that obtained using the traditional method. The ANN and GA was perform using MATLAB. The simulation results was shown that the proposed algorithm was successfully calculate the value of shaft diameter and face width to obtain the minimal bending stress and material volume of the gearbox.

Purpose: In this study, a maintenance free super-capacitor battery charging system based on the photovoltaic module, to be used in agricultural electric carriers, was developed and its charging characteristics were studied in detail. Methods: At first, the electric carrier system configuration is introduced and the electric control components are presented. The super-capacitor batteries and photovoltaic module used in the experiment are specified. Next, the developed charging system consisting of a constant current / constant voltage Buck converter as the charging device and a super-capacitor cell as a balancing device are initiated. The proposed circuit design, a developed PCB layout of each device and a proportional control to check the current and voltage during the charging process are outlined. An experiment was carried out using a developed prototype to clarify the effectiveness of the proposed system. A power analyzer was used to measure the current and voltage during charging to evaluate the efficiency of the energy storage device. Finally, the conclusions of this research are presented. Results: The experimental results show that the proposed system successfully controls the charging current and balances the battery voltage. The maximum voltage of the super-capacitor battery obtained by using the proposed battery charger is 16.2 V, and the maximum charging current is 20 A. It was found that the charging time was less than an hour through the duty ratio of 95% or more. Conclusions: The developed battery charging system was successfully implemented on the agricultural electric carriers.
