기존의 시민사회론은 시민사회 영역을 규범적·당위적으로 규정함으로써 실제 시민사회 영역에서 발생하는 운동의 양상과 영향에 대한 적절한 평가를 이루어내지 못했다. 본 논문은 ‘시민사회’의 이름으로 신자유주의적 경제개혁이 주창되는 현상을 살펴본다. 테크노폴(technopol)의 개념을 활용하여 시민사회에서 활동하는 전문가 집단들의 신자유주의적 전문성에 대해 분석함으로써 시민사회 영역이 실제로는 대중들는 상반된 전문적 행위자들에 의해 지배될 수 있음을 밝히고자 한다. 대표적인 예로서 시민사회 영역에서 가장 큰 영향력을 가졌던 경제정의실천시민연합(경실련)과 참여연대를 살펴 보고 있다. 경실련의 경우 기층세력이 요구했던 분배 문제보다는 노동유연화, 공기업 민영화, 금융시장 개방 및 자유화라는 국가 관료들이 주창한 신자유주의적 개혁 의제에 운동의 초점을 맞추었고 정치적 성향이 강했던 참여연대 역시 일정부분 경제적 이슈로 전환되게 된다. 이와 같은 연구를 통해 경제민주화의 개념이 우리사회에서 분배나 노동자의 경영참여보다는 시장개혁으로서의 함의를 가지게 되었는지를 시민사회 운동의 성격을 통하여 알 수 있게 될 것이다. Although the role of civil society has been considered as a desirable vehicle for consolidating democracy, there are some cases that the organizations of civil society become a proponent of neoliberal economic reforms, endangering social security. There was distinctive case during Kim Young-Sam regime. The CCEJ (Citizen"s Coalition for Economic Justice) played an important role to justify the neoliberal economic reform, implemented by Kim"s regime while the demand of equal distribution was disregarded. This paper examine the relationship between the role of civil society organizations and the neoliberal reform in Kim Young-Sam regime through the dynamic interaction among main actors.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Normal mode analysis (NMA) with coarse‐grained model, such as elastic network model (ENM), has allowed the quantitative understanding of protein dynamics. As the protein size is increased, there emerges the expensive computational process to find the dynamically important low‐frequency normal modes due to diagonalization of massive Hessian matrix. In this study, we have provided the domain decomposition‐based structural condensation method that enables the efficient computations on low‐frequency motions. Specifically, our coarse‐graining method is established by coupling between model condensation (MC; Eom et al., J Comput Chem 2007, <B>28</B>, 1400) and component mode synthesis (Kim et al., J Chem Theor Comput 2009, <B>5</B>, 1931). A protein structure is first decomposed into substructural units, and then each substructural unit is coarse‐grained by MC. Once the NMA is implemented to coarse‐grained substructural units, normal modes and natural frequencies for each coarse‐grained substructural unit are assembled by using geometric constraints to provide the normal modes and natural frequencies for whole protein structure. It is shown that our coarse‐graining method enhances the computational efficiency for analysis of large protein complexes. It is clearly suggested that our coarse‐graining method provides the B‐factors of 100 large proteins, quantitatively comparable with those obtained from original NMA, with computational efficiency. Moreover, the collective behaviors and/or the correlated motions for model proteins are well delineated by our suggested coarse‐grained models, quantitatively comparable with those computed from original NMA. It is implied that our coarse‐grained method enables the computationally efficient studies on conformational dynamics of large protein complex. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Comput Chem, 2010</P>
Cofilin reduces the mechanical properties of actin filaments: approach with coarse-grained methods

<P>An actin filament is an essential cytoskeleton protein in a cell. Various proteins bind to actin for cell functions such as migration, division, and shape control. ADF/cofilin is a protein that severs actin filaments and is related to their dynamics. Actin is known to have excellent mechanical properties. Binding cofilin reduces its mechanical properties, and is related to the severing process. In this research, we applied a coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation (CGMD) method to obtain actin filaments and cofilin-bound actin (cofilactin) filaments. Using these two obtained models, we constructed an elastic network model-based structure and conducted a normal mode analysis. Based on the low-frequency normal modes of the filament structure, we applied the continuum beam theory to calculate the mechanical properties of the actin and cofilactin filaments. The CGMD method provided structurally accurate actin and cofilactin filaments in relation to the mechanical properties, which showed good agreement with the established experimental results.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>We applied a coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation (CGMD) method and constructed elastic network model-based structures, actin and cofilactin filaments. Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and safety of cardia preserving proximal gastrectomy, in early gastric cancer of the upper third. Materials and Methods: A total of 10 patients were diagnosed with early gastric cancer of the upper third through endoscopic biopsy. The operation time, length of resection free margin, number of resected lymph nodes and postoperative complications, gastrointestinal symptoms, nutritional status, anastomotic stricture, and recurrence were examined. Results: There were 5 males and 5 females. The mean age was $56.5{\pm}0.5$ years. The mean operation time was $188.5{\pm}0.5$ minutes (laparoscopic operation was 270 minutes). Nine patients were T1 stage (T2 : 1), and N stage was all N0. The mean number of resected lymph nodes was $25.2{\pm}0.5$. The length of proximal resection free margin was $3.1{\pm}0.1$ cm and distal was $3.7{\pm}0.1$ cm. Early complications were surgical site infection (1), bleeding (1), and gastro-esophageal reflux disease (1) (this symptom was improved with medication). Late complications were dyspepsia (3) (this symptom was improved without any treatment), and others were nonspecific results of endoscopy or symptom. Conclusions: Cardia preserving proximal gastrectomy was feasible for early gastric cancer of the upper third. Further evaluation and prospective research will be required.
Early Gastric Cancer with Neurofibroma Mimicking a Metastatic Node: A Case Report

Neurofibromas are benign tumors that originate from the peripheral nerves, including neurites and fibroblasts. Generally, a solitary neurofibroma is located in the skin and rarely in other places. A 72-year-old female suffered from epigastric discomfort for 2 months. Endoscopic findings showed an early gastric cancer type IIc at the antrum. Abdominal computed tomography revealed early gastric cancer with a 1.6 cm-sized metastatic node posterior to the duodenum. Laparoscopic assisted distal gastrectomy and retro-pancreatic dissection were performed uneventfully. Histological examination revealed gastric adenocarcinoma, invading the mucosa without nodal metastasis, and a neurofibroma. Herein, we present a case of a gastric cancer patient with a solitary retroperitoneal neurofibroma which mimicked a distant metastatic node.
