The head restraints are safety devices to protect head-neck injuries from car crash accidents, especially in rear-end collisions. Manufacturers are reporting an increased number of complaints from consumers, who find that head restraints’ design is not comfortable, so the new design standard of head restraint and seat back is investigated in this paper. Our statistical analysis results show the new standard is effective for seat comfort.

The purpose of this study is to restore ‘Hwacha by Byeon Eejung’ in Chosun dynasty. Hwacha was used mainly on the Battle of Haengju of Japanese Invasion of Chosun, but none of the drawing or description is left except the design of Hwacha on Mangamjip. So this research aims to restore of Hwacha as an object. In this research, researchers came up with the changeable-hinge model by scientific and historic demonstrations. In the scientific demonstrations, researchers suggest black gunpowder, torque, and scattershot, in the historic demonstrations they suggest design of Hwacha, topography, and a battle array. The result of this study presents the conclusion that Hwacha used in the Japanese Invasion was changeable with hinges. Researchers also finished designing the model in 3D and made it into real mockup miniature.
Heat Loss of Covering Materials on Glass Greenhouses due to the Wind Velocity

The proportion of heating expenses among maintenance cost is the highest and is in the range of 24.7~39.2% of the main crops. The heating cost of a greenhouse heating is closely related to the heating load, and the heating load occupies most of the heat loss of covering materials. The heat loss of the covering materials is sensitive to external wind velocity and is a major factor in estimating the heating load. The purpose of this study is to obtain fundamental data by wind tunnel test to estimate the heat loss of glasshouse according to wind velocity. The glass greenhouse was manufactured at a ratio of 1/50 of the actual size. Heaters and a temperature controller were installed inside the model to maintain the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the experiment. Experimental wind velocity of the wind tunnel was 5 ms-1 in consideration of the similarity ratio and the wind direction was rotated to the 90 degree range. The correlation between heating load of glass greenhouse and wind velocity can be derived from experiment results. The results of this study are expected to be used as fundamental data to estimate the heating load of glasshouse in the region where wind load is dominant.

This is a good example of participatory design which is one of widely used user-centered design method on vehicle seat design, especially for the seat comfort engineering. The volunteered 32 actual (or potential) customers (age: 20-60, similar distributions for height and weight compare to SizeKorea) were participate on consumer clinic for evaluating static seating comfort. The 2 hours of long-term driving evaluation was conducted with the 6 experts (5male, 1 female) in vehicle seat industry. The improvement effect were found from both objective and subjective results (P<0.05) in short-term evaluation. However, people can distinguish the differences through their sense (p<0.05) between two seats even though the two seats have almost same mechanical properties according to measure the load-deflection. There’s no significant decrease from initial stage on discomfort ratio after 2 hours driving with 2 improved seats but 1 current manufactured seat. It can be easily found the effect of improvements on both short- and long-term evaluation. However, there’re still remaining the issues how they are correlate between objective and subjective evaluation data.

A prior fundamental study was executed using a constant volume chamber to improve the burning properties<br/> of lean pre:-mixture by the injection of active radicals generated in the sub-chamber. In consequence. RI method shows<br/> remarkable progress in the aspects of burning velocity and combustible lean limit compared with SI method. In this :study, the necessary additional works have been performed to be: based on the: former results. We changed parameters as the initial temperature and the initial pressure of mixture. And the: effects of resident gas at issue in a ureal engine were investigated. As a result, the effects of initial temperature were significant, but on the other hand. those of initial pressre were slight. The correlation of passage hole number between overall passage hole area was grasped. And the more detailed analysis is required on resident gas.
