        A Study on Optimized Size of a Mobile Harbor for South Korea Coastal Service

        The aim of paper is to calculate the optimized size of Mobile Harbor(MH) which would be operated in South Korea coast area. MH is the combined entity which has the function of both ship and container port. In estimating the optimized size, the total cost concept is applied to the different size of MH. Trade-off factors for calculating total cost are MH cost and the over-capacity lost cost. The factors for MH cost estimation are the cargo demand, distance from origin to destination, voyage route and MH's fixed and variable cost in both sailing and port. The other cost is the over-capacity lost cost which is occurred from dead space in case of oversize compared with a voyage demand. The alternatives for the least cost are 250TEU, 500TEU, 750TEU and 1,000TEU sized vessel. The result of research is that 250TEU sized vessel is optimized in a South Korea costal service. If the coastal area be separated in terms of voyage distance or the specific area in considering trade, the optimized size is changed depending upon distance.

        전자현미경내 마이크로 절삭의 화상처리에 의한 절삭 기구 해석

        This research analyzes the cutting mechanism of A1100-H18 of commercially pure aluminum by image processing in SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) for the measurement of strain rate distribution near a cutting edge in orthogonal micro-cutting. The distribution is measured using various methods in order. The methods are in-situ observations of cutting process in SEM, inputting image data, a computer image processing, calculating displacements by SSDA(Sequential similarity Detection Algorithm) and calculating strain rates by FEM. The main results obtained are as follows: (1) It enables to measure a microscopic displacement near a cutting edge. (2) An application of this system to cutting process of various materials will help to make cutting mechanism clear.

        The purpose of this study was to analyze attack skills and scores in 8 weight classes of male Taekwondo athletes who participated in the semi-final and final matches(48 athletes) in the 14the Asian Games(2002, Busan). The 14th Asian Games was chosen for this study because it is in these games that the rules were revised to a variable scoring system. The results obtained from this analysis were as follows; 1. There is a sinificant difference of attack skill frequency per Korean(Foreign) male athlete was 50.00(51.38) times and scores obtained were an average of 5.06(4.25) points per athlete. 2. There is a significant difference in attack frequency between the light weight group and heavy weight group of Korean and Foreign male athletes. Korean male athletes: Between groups, in case of momtong-dolryeochagi, naraechagi and tchikeachagi, the frequency of the light weight group was shown to be higher. The frequency of momtong-dolryeochagi was shown to be higher in the heavy weight group. 3. There is a significant difference in attack frequency between Korean male athletes and Foreign male athletes in the light weight group and heavy weight group. The light weight group: Between groups, in case of momtong-dolryeochagi and eolgul-dolryeochagi, the frequency of Korean male athletes was shown to be higher and in case of naraechagi, dwitchagi and dolgaechagi, the frequency of Foreign male athletes was shown to be higher. The heavy weight group: Between groups, in case of and eolgul-dolryeochagi, naraechagi and dwitchagi, the frequency of Korean male athletes was shown to be higher and in case of momtong-dolryeochagi, tchikeachagi and dolgaechagi, the frequency of Foreign male athletes was shown to be higher.

        In order to investigate the availability of insect resources for agrobiotechnological or medical purposes, we examined antioxidant (DPPH and FRAP assay) and cell viability by oxidant stress and NO inhibition assay by treatment of the extracts of Statilia maculata Thunberg, Tenodera angustipennis Saussure and Tenodera aridifolia Stoll. We found that Tenodera angustipennis Saussure and Tenodera aridifolia Stoll extract (DW, etanol, methanol) had high levels of anti-oxidant activity, whereas Tenodera aridifolia Stoll extract showed increased cell viability by hydrogen peroxide and inhibition of NO production. These findings suggest that Statilia maculata Thunberg, Tenodera angustipennis Saussure and Tenodera aridifolia Stoll, extract have potentials to be developed for agrobiotechnology or medicinal use, indicating that mechanistic study including inhibition against molecular inflammation will show a possibility for the development of useful insect resources.

        The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Taekwondo program on cognitive competence of children with mental retardation.       • 동해안 석호의 육수학적 조사(1): 청초호

        Water quality and pollution state of Lake Chungcho were evaluated during three years from 1998 to 2000. We surveyed physicochemical parameters, and TSI(trophic state index) was calculated using TP, Chl. a, and SD(secchi disc transparency) data of growing season average. Water samples were collected bimonthly except freezing season. During the study period, total annual precipitation in 1998, 1999 and 2000 year was 1,797, 1,722 and 1,345 mm, respectively. Salinity and conductivity were high (29.3±5.5 ppt, and 45,105±7,585 μS/cm) then other lagoons in the Eastern Coast of Korea. Chemocline was formed by salinity at 0.5~1.5m water depth. As a result of this, DO concentration of hypolimnion was below 3.0 mgO₂/L. Especially, when intense chemocline was formed, temperature of hypolimnion was higher than epilimnion. Secchi disc transparency, chlorophyll a, and COD were 0.8±0.3m, 15.7±20.7 mg/㎥, and 3.1±0.8 mgO₂/L, respecively. Most of TN/TP ratios below 20, but concentration of TN and TP was high. Values of TSI ranged between 59 and 77, indicating a eutrophic condition in this system.

        의식이 명료한 경증 두부 외상환자에서 뇌 전산화단층촬영의 의의

        A standardized approch to serious head injury employing immediate CT scanning and aggressive medical and surgical therapy has improved outcomes in cases of intracranial lesions. Unfortunately, there is less agreement on how patients with mild head injury should be handled when first seen in an emergency department setting. The ideal policy in mild head injury would be diagnosis or rule-out intracranial lesions as quickly as possible. We reviewed the records of 126 mild head injury patients admitted during 6-month period to the Chonnam University Hospital to identify a group of mild head injury patients having lesions on brain CT scanning and to investigate the risk factors affecting abnormal lesions on brain CT scanning. All patients had alert mental status without neurological deficit and signs of skull fracture. Routine brain CT scans were obtained on all patients. Fifteen patients(12%) had 17 lesions on brain CT scans. Three patients needed surgery for their intracranial lesions. The initial Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) was 15 in 107 patients and 14 in 19 patients. The incidence of abnormal brain CT lesions for each GCS was 9% in 15 and 26% in 14. The common symptoms of patients who had abnormal brain CT lesions were headache in 7(47%) cases, loss of consciousness in 7(47%) cases, amnesia in 4(27%) cases, dizziness in 4(27%) cases, vomiting in 3(20%) cases, and lethargy in 3(20%) cases. These data suggest that early brain CT scanning is necessary in alert patients who have GCS in 14, headache, loss of consciousness, amnesia, dizziness, vomiting, or lethargy following mild head injury.

      • 0.18 μm CMOS 공정을 이용한 밀리미터파 대역 전력 증폭기 설계

        We investigated the design of 20 GHz-band power amplifier using 0.18 pm CMOS technology. Considering the output power requirement and number of gain stages, the size of device was chosen as 2X150 pm. Using electro-magnetic(EM) simulation, the insertion loss of the substrate-shielded microstrip line was compared with conventional transmission line structure. From the EM simulation, the dimensions of the microstrip line were determined given the characteristic impedance. By using cascode topology and substrate-shielded microstrip line, a 3-stage amplifier achieved a 19-dB small-signal gain and 14-dBm of output power at 20 GHz.

        This study is an improvement effect with varying the factors, such as ultrasonic irradition time, sludge depth and ultrasonic intensity. The calculated result about the moisture content rate and the specific resistant coefficient, based on the outcome of the dewatering test by BFT, can be summarized as follows : 1. The specific resistant coefficient of the paper mill sludge was 4.34×10¹²m/㎏ at ultrasonic intensity of 0 watt/㎡ and ultrasonic irradiation time of 6 minutes. And also, the balue of a slope "a" was 0.024 and the moisture content rate of sludge was about 72% on condition that the depth o sludge was 60㎝. 2. In case that the dosing concentration of ultrasonic+a congulant was 100㎎/l, the moisture content rate of dewatered sludge was about 58%.
