This study was carried out to improve the culturing method of P. cocos, on saving labor and inoculation amount. Therefore, the result of this experiment was as the following. Proper mycelium growth and density of P. cocos was observed in MCM(mushroom complete medium). In the selection of tree species, pine and larch had better in spawn culture and sclerotia formation condition. In the experiment of pine, Yield was 33.7㎏/3.3㎡. In inoculation amount, conventional method(cross slice inoculation) required 16 ~ 20 bottles/1000cc of spawn. In contrast, short log,drilling inoculation method required 8 ~ 10 bottles/1000cc, 2 ~ 3 bottles/1000cc of spawn, which reduced by 50% and 85 ~ 90% of inoculation respectively. In conventional method, the yield of pine was 23.4㎏/3.3㎡. In the case of drilling and short log inoculation, Yield was 28.7㎏ / 3.3㎡(25㎜ / depth) and 30.1kg / 3.3㎡(35mm / depth), 31.7㎏ / 3.3㎡ respectively, Therefore, short log inoculation was increased by 25% and 35% compared with conventional method. In conclusion, management cost was also saved.

<P>In this paper, we present finite element (FE) models for the analysis of heat transfer and for the analysis of 3-D elastic–viscoplastic deformation of steel at elevated temperatures. Then, it is shown that, in conjunction with the models for the prediction of phase fraction, and thermal and mechanical properties, an integrated FE model can be obtained which is capable of predicting the detailed aspects of the thermal and mechanical behavior of the plate subject to accelerated cooling in a plate mill. Also, we present an approximate model for on-line prediction. The prediction accuracy of the approximate model is examined through comparison with the predictions from the integrated FE model. Then, using the model, the effect of some selected process variables on the residual stress distributions is investigated.</P>

Structural members are designed to maintain the load-carrying capacity as well as structural strength, and the structural serviceability such as the deflection, cracks, and vibration to give the occupants uncomfortable environment should be checked. Recently, the importance of the vibration has been issued since the Techno Mart accident due to vibration resonance. This study provides a passive vibration control system using the repulsion force of magnets to reduce dynamic vibrations. The systems is devised by importing the constraint condition by a hinge to operate magnets installed at two adjacent locations. The effectiveness of the proposed system is investigated by the vibration control test of a steel beam with and without the control system. It is illustrated in the test that the system is activated by the control forces executed by the magnets and can be utilized in reducing the dynamic responses. The system can be applied to pedestrian bridge and traffic bridge. The applicability is expected in the future by optimizing the factors to affect the dynamic responses like the intensity, mass, locations of magnets.

While use of mass rearing systems improved poultry production, chances of exposing to contagious diseases have been increased, making flocks more vulnerable to diseases. Diseases of interest which affects egg production adversely include Low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI), Infectious bronchitis (IB), Avian meta-pneumoviral infection (aMPV) and Egg drop syndrome'76 (EDS'76). This report collected and analyzed 5,385 serum samples, which were collected from 1,330 different chicken flock, provided by Chungbuk National University, Avian Disease Laboratory at 2009. Serums were analyzed based on rearing stages; 0~1.3weeks (wks) (maternal antibody period), >1.3~3 wks (starting period), >3~10 wks (growing period), >10~22 wks (developing period), >22~40 wks (peak laying period), >40~60 wks (late laying period) and over 60 wks (post-molting period). Results showed the 99.7% of the tested flocks were immunized against ND and73.8%, 97.1%, 78,2% and 78% of the flocks were immunized against other 4 agents (LPAI, IB, EDS'76, aMPV). Maternal antibody was transferred to enough quantity for NDV. Generally, antibody titers which were developed at 22 weeks were stabilized permanently for life. In case of IB and aMPV, infection titer emerged as early as 10 weeks and the titer was increased from 99.4% to 100% for life. EDS76 showed increase in titers, reflecting decreased frequency of vaccination programs. Overall, this study displayed general trends of major viral disease in layers, but considering the trend of development of preventive measures and evolution of pathogens, conducting serological surveys on a regular basis is important.
Retrovirus-Mediated Gene Transfer and Expression of EGFP in Chicken

Here, we successfully demonstrate expression of the EGFP (enhanced green fluorescence protein) gene in chickens using replication-defective MLV (murine leukemia virus)-based retrovirus vectors encapsidated with VSV-G (vesicular stomatitis virus G glycoprotein). The recombinant retrovirus was injected beneath the blastoderm of non-incubated chicken embryos (stage X). After 12 days incubation, all of the eight living embryos assayed were found to express this vector-encoded EGFP gene, which was under the control of the RSV (Rous Sarcoma Virus) promoter, in diverse organ tissues, including head, beak, neck, wing, hock, tail, toes, heart, amnion, and yolk sac. Surprisingly, despite the presumed cytotoxicity of EGFP, some embryos hatched and survived and these had prominent green fluorescent spots, both in internal organs and externally.
