Some Finite Integrals Involving Srivastava's Polynomials and the Aleph Function

In this paper, we establish certain integrals involving Srivastava's Polynomials [5] and Aleph Function ([8], [10]). On account of general nature of the functions and polynomials involved in the integrals, our results provide interesting unifications and generalizations of a large number of new and known results, which may find useful applications in the field of science and engineering. To illustrate, we have recorded some special cases of our main results which are also sufficiently general and unified in nature and are of interest in themselves.

The present study examined the salinity-induced oxidative damage and differential response of enzymatic and nonenzymatic antioxidants of Nostoc muscorum. As compared with carotenoid content that showed induction, the chlorophyll and phycocyanin contents were inhibited after salt stress. Acceleration of lipid peroxidation and peroxide production suggested the onset of oxidative damage. The activities of all studied enzymatic antioxidants were significantly increased by salt stress, with maximum induction occuring with superoxide dismutase (154.8% at 200 mM NaCl treatment). Interestingly, under severe stress condition (250 mM NaCl), ascorbate peroxidase seemed to be more crucial than catalase for peroxide scavenging. Among the studied nonenzymatic antioxidants, α-tocopherol was induced maximally (56.0%); however, ascorbate and reduced glutathione were increased by only 8.9% after 250 mM NaCl treatment as compared with control cells. Therefore, salinity was found to induce the antioxidative defense system of N. muscorum.

The present work discusses the evolution of microstructure and non-metallic inclusions during wire drawing process in asynthetic slag-treated 5.5 mm diameter high carbon wire rod steel. It has been observed that failure of the as-received wirerod (without synthetic slag treatment) takes place at different stages of deformation during wire drawing operation. However,in case of the synthetic slag-treated wire rods (TW specimen), failure takes place consistently at ~ 95% reduction in thecross-sectional area of the wire. In a quest to understand the failure mechanisms during wire drawing process, a systematicstudy has been carried out by analyzing the microstructures and non-metallic inclusions in the steel wires drawn at variousstages of deformation. The improved drawability of the treated wire specimens is attributed to the decrease in the amountof unfavourable non-deformable inclusions in the steel matrix, and this stems from the synthetic slag treatment of the liquidsteel. Microstructural investigation also confirms the complete realignment of pearlite colonies along the wire drawingdirection followed by thinning and disintegration of cementite lamellae at higher deformation, particularly in case of thesynthetic slag-treated wire rod steel.

In this work, we rst introduce a class of analytic functions involving the Dziok-Srivastava linear operator that generalizes the class of uniformly starlike functions with respect to symmetric points. We then establish the closure of certain well-known integral transforms under this analytic function class. This behaviour leads to various radius results for these integral transforms. Some of the interesting consequences of these results are outlined. Further, the lower bounds for the ratio between the functions f(z) in the class under discussion, their partial sums $f_m(z)$ and the corresponding derivative functions f'(z) and $f^{\prime}_m(z)$ are determined by using the coecient estimates.
Functionalized Multilayered Graphene Platform for Urea Sensor

<P>Multilayered graphene (MLG) is an interesting material for electrochemical sensing and biosensing because of its very large 2D electrical conductivity and large surface area. We propose a less toxic, reproducible, and easy method for producing functionalized multilayer graphene from multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in mass scale using only concentrated H<SUB>2</SUB>SO<SUB>4</SUB>/HNO<SUB>3</SUB>. Electron microscopy results show the MLG formation, whereas FTIR and XPS data suggest its carboxylic and hydroxyl-functionalized nature. We utilize this functionalized MLG for the fabrication of a novel amperometric urea biosensor. This biosensor shows linearity of 10–100 mg dL<SUP>–1</SUP>, sensitivity of 5.43 μA mg<SUP>–1</SUP> dL cm<SUP>–2</SUP>, lower detection limit of 3.9 mg dL<SUP>–1</SUP>, and response time of 10 s. Ever since 2012 when Srivastava et al. [22] introduced and initiated the study of many interesting fundamental properties and characteristics of a certain pair of potentially useful families of the so-called generalized incomplete hypergeometric functions, there have appeared many closely-related works dealing essentially with notable developments involving various classes of generalized hypergeometric functions and generalized hypergeometric polynomials, which are defined by means of the corresponding incomplete and other novel extensions of the familiar Pochhammer symbol. Here, in this sequel to some of these earlier works, we derive several general families of hypergeometric generating functions by applying (for example) some such combinatorial identities as Gould's identity, which stem essentially from the Lagrange expansion theorem. We also indicate various (known or new) special cases and consequences of the results presented in this paper.
A family of hypergeometric integrals associated with Ramanujan's integral formula

The main object of this paper is to investigate some interesting applications and generalizations of Ramanujan’s integral formula (which he obtained with the help of the celebrated Ramanujan Master Theorem). Motivated essentially by some recent works by M. Garg and S. Mittal (see, for example, [South East Asian J. Math. Math. Sci. 1 (2) (2003), 85–95]), we evaluate several general families of definite integrals involving functions of one and more complex variables, some of which are then applied to derive the corresponding results associated with the generalized hypergeometric function pFq and the Fox-Wright further generalizations denoted by p[수식]q and p[수식]q . An integral formula considered recently by R. P. Agarwal [Resonance of Ramanujan’s Mathematics, Vol. I, New Age International Publishers Limited, New Delhi, 1996], which is closely associated with the aforementioned Ramanujan’s result, is also corrected and modified here appropriately.
Diagnostic Role of Survivin in Urinary Bladder Cancer

Background: Early diagnosis of carcinoma of bladder remains a challenge. Survivin, a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein family, is frequently activated in bladder carcinoma. The objective of this study was to investigate urinary survivin as a marker for diagnosis of urinary bladder. Materials and Methods: We examined urinary survivin concentration in 28 healthy individuals, 46 positive controls and 117 cases of histologically proven TCC prior to transurethral resection, using ELISA, and compared values with findings for urinary cytology. Results: Survivin was found to be significantly higher in the cancer group (P<0.05). A cut off value of 17.7 pg/ml was proposed, with an approximate sensitivity of 82.9% and specificity of 81.1% (P<0.0001), whereas urine cytology had a sensitivity of 66.7% and a specificity of 96.0%. Conclusions: Urinary survivin can be used as a non-invasive diagnostic biomarker for TCC bladder, both for primary and recurrent disease.
A Linear and Consistent Class of Econometric Estimators in Simultaneous Equations

Striaght-forward application of the ordinary least squares model for estimating the parameters of a simultaneous linear stochastic equations model does not provide consistent estimators due to the fact that the explanatory jointly dependent variables are correlated with the disturbances. The search for consistent estimators during the last three decades has yielded a variety of estimators which can be broadly classified into two groups, namely, limited information and full information. Both the groups fails to uilize the over-identifying restrictions in the structural equations except the one under study while the latter group succeeds; see, e.g. Srivastava(1978) for a brief review and Theil (1961) for a detail description.
