        A Study on Spending Patterns and Buying Motives of Indian Gold Consumers

        Purpose - The objective of this research is to be acquainted with the spending patterns and buying motives of Indian gold consumers along with the opinions of gold traders. Research design, data, and methodology - The study administers a structured questionnaire survey with 450 consumers and conducts personal interviews with 60 gold businesspersons in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, a leading gold consuming state in the entire country. Using Analysis of Variance, the collected data was analyzed and the hypotheses were tested. Results - Results indicate that 85 percent of Indian gold consumers are purchasing gold in the form of ornaments and jewellery as against 10 percent invested in gold coins/bars. Another 5 percent consumers is investing in gold by choosing either gold traded mutual funds or gold schemes introduced by corporate gold traders. Conclusions - Majority of the Indian gold consumers are considering occasions and festivities while buying gold and then giving preference to price as against least preference to recommendations of brand ambassadors.

        A Critical Assessment of the Implementation of Sources of Power: An Indian Context

        Purpose - The core objective of this study is to comprehend the diverse nature of implementation of sources of power in the Indian context. Research design, data, and methodology - After a meticulous review of the relevant literature on various types of power with a particular kind of managers’involvement, the article reviews the Indian managers’ behavioral perception and attitudinal disposition while exercising power in their organization, along with a judicious blend of different kinds of power to drive the organization to the expected level. Results - As an input to a full-fledged research study, researchers had taken up this precise discussion and observation on how the managers’ community in India exercises its power. Generally, Indian managers usually implement legitimate power besides reward and coercive power as per the situation, by extending copious benefits to different stakeholders. Based on the psychological and behavioral disposition, Indian managers exercised power in their respective organizations in a fruitful manner. Conclusions -This article has carefully covered the entire corporate sector regardless of magnitude, type, or ownership. It is quite beneficial to all the proactive researchers and academia along with the corporate world.

        A Study on Kazakh Women’s Consumer Behavior

        Purpose This – paper examines Kazakh women’s spending patterns and buying behavior. Research design, data, and methodology – After thoroughly reviewing the related literature on consumer behavior in general, and female consumer behavior in particular, both questionnaires and in-depth personal interviews were used to collect data from 400 Kazakh women consumers equally chosen from the age groups 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, and above 50. Results – A stratified and convenient sample was employed, and the selected five hypotheses were proved using the Karl Pearson Coefficient of Correlation. Related to spending patterns, 40 and 35 percent of the 20-30 and 30-40 age groups, respectively, of Kazakh women spend their incomes on personal items, as against 30 percent from both the 40-50 and 50 and above age groups. Twenty-five and 35 percent of the 40-50 and 50 and above age group, respectively, take decisions based on product quality, whereas this percentage is at its mite in the below 40 age group. Conclusions – The buying behavior of Kazakh women consumers is revealed; the results proffer useful background information to formulate marketing strategies.

        Purpose: The focal objective of this research is to be acquainted with the spending patterns and buying motives of Indian gold consumers along with the opinions of gold traders. Design/methodology/approach: After a meticulous review of the relevant literature on consumer behavior, gold and gold ornament market in India, the researchers engaged a well structured questionnaire, conduct personal interviews with 450 consumers and 60 gold businessmen. The researchers applied stratified and convenience sampling methods. The collected data was analyzed with the support of Microsoft Excel package and frequency distribution. The hypotheses were selected based on the literature and pilot survey results and proved to be applied by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Findings: The researchers identified that 85 percent of Indian gold consumers are purchasing gold in the form of ornaments and jewellery as against 10 percent invested in gold coins/bars. Another 5 percent consumers is investing in gold by choosing either gold traded mutual funds or gold schemes introduced by corporate gold traders. Majority of the Indian gold consumers are considering occasions and festivities while buying gold and then giving preference to price as against least preference to recommendations of brand ambassadors. Research limitations/implications: The research confined to the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, a leading gold consuming state in the entire country. Practical implications: This study emphatically provides authentic information needed to both organized and un-organized gold trader through which there is a chance to review their existing marketing strategies and introduce further ways to augment the situation in getting more attention for effective merchandizing. Originality/value: This research paper sheds ample light on spending patterns and buying motives of Indian gold consumers which is first of its kind beneficial to both academicians and gold traders.

        Recent Trends in HR as Useful Retention Strategy in Indian Information Technology (IT) Sector

        Purpose – The focal point of this research is to study the implications of retention, various reasons for attrition and also different ways to control attrition along with the employee retention strategies implementing by the Indian IT sector. Research design, data and methodology - After thorough literature review on employee attrition and retention, questionnaire has prepared to collect the opinions of 200 employees which were chosen from 20 IT companies (10 each from large and medium size companies) with simple random sampling technique and also gathered the opinion of these companies HR managers on strategies they are implementing to retain their talent pool through personal and telephonic interviews. Results –The research completely limited to the IT companies located in the city of Pune which is emerged as a new IT hub of India. The collected data was analyzed with Microsoft Excel and frequency distribution. Conclusions – The researchers identified job associated, compensation related and inter-personal relations for quitting their positions along with the outlook of Indian IT companies related to the identification and implementation of retention strategies like incessant hikes in compensation package, improved working conditions, continuous introduction of employee welfare facilities, and genuine promotional policy, recognition and rewards, career planning and development, and exemplary leadership.

        Purpose This paper aims to critically examine capital mar – -ket developments in India before and after liberalization. Research design, data, and methodology The paper exam – -inesthe Indian capital market from its inception to the latest de-velopments related to both primary and secondary markets, andalso discusses recent initiatives ofcapital markets to enhance theexpected level of services to the investor community. It alsosheds light on the regulatory framework for investor protection. Results The study further highlights the future roadmap for –the radical development of the Indian capital market. The paperidentifies the various initial obstacles and intricacies that affectthe smooth functioning of the Indian capital markets. Hence, thepaper articulates that these concerns should be addressed bythe regulatory authorities and at the policy level at the earliestfor further strengthening the capital markets in the interests ofthe economy in general and retail investors in particular. Conclusion This is a topic of utmost contemporary im – -portance to worldwide national economies, and calls for novelmethods and techniques in dealing effectively with the menacefacing capital markets.
