Omental infarction, the end result of impaired perfusion to the greater omentum, is a rare benign self-limiting clinical entity. The main clinical symptom is non-specific localized abdominal pain with a moderately raised white blood cell and erythrocyte sedimentation rate. These findings often mimic an abdominal surgical emergency. This condition is often misdiagnosed as acute appendicitis or cholecystitis. The characteristic feature of CT scan and ultrasonography provide non-invasive diagnosis in most patients with omental infarction. We report a case of patient whose CT scan showed the characteristic finding of omental infarction. The patient was improved spontaneously only with conservative care.

It was found that almost all amount of K₂SO₄in uncalcined alunite was extracted in the forms of K₂SO₄(NH₄)₂SO₄mixture in proper concentration (7∼8mol) of ammonia water. This process was attempted to extract the potash ammonia ferlitizer fron the uncalcined mt. ok mae alunite ore under appopriate raction temperature and react-on time. The indastrial manufactuing methods of the potsh-ammonia mixtnre fertilizer are as follows; (1) The appliable reaction temperatare by the experimental data, was 230∼240℃ (2) The optimum time applied to the reaction was 3 to 4 hoars.

Association of Uncoupling Protein-1 Haplotypes with Body Fat Area

Obesity is a major cause of morbidity and mortality and is associated with risks for type 2 diabetes mellitus, heart disease, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, stroke, and certain forms of cancer. The glutamate decarboxylase 2 (GAD2), insulin-induced gene 2 (INSIG2), ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 1 (ENPP1), melanocortin 4 receptor (MC4R), fresh touring origination (FTO), and uncoupling protein-1 (UCP-1) genes have been investigated for their association with obesity. Since the A-3826G SNP in the UCP-1 gene was first shown to be the key genetic determinant of obesity and body fat accumulation, many studies have been performed in various populations to measure the association of the G allele of this SNP with obesity phenotypes. The association of the A-3826G SNP with obesity has been controversial, however, suggesting that one SNP does not sufficiently explain the effects of genomic variation on body fat accumulation. In this study, 9 SNPs were newly identified in the 5'-flanking region of the UCP-1 gene by direct sequencing of genomic DNA from 21 Korean subjects, and 6 haplotypes were obtained by SNP genotyping and haplotype reconstruction. According to our haplotype analysis, ht2 of the G allele of A-3826G, was significantly associated with overall fat measures after age and body weight were adjusted. Ht6 of the A allele of A-3826G, was significantly linked to reduced fat accumulation. These results provide an explanation for the controversies that have been reported in many obesity association studies and suggest that haplotype associations between polymorphic loci and neighbor loci that harbor functional sequence variants can be exploited to identify disease-predisposing alleles.

As special make-up industry develops, it is necessary to obtain the concrete and objective data about the colorant combination criterion and thickness of silicone which can express diverse skin colors and give delicacy and reality to depicting the characters often expressed like wound and old people make-up. For this purpose, primarily, this study measured 10 white people`s skin chromaticity, and so combined the colorants of beige, permanent yellow light, carmine, and cobalt blue, and then determined the colorant combination ratio similar to such skin chromaticity and investigated the chromaticity change of silicone by its thickness. Secondarily, this study fabricated the prosthesis necessary for wound and old people make-up, and so applied such prosthesis to experimental subjects. According to the results of this study, on 10 experimental subjects` foreheads and cheeks, lightness (L*) was 60.4±1.2 and 60.1±0.9. Redness (a*) was 13.4±0.9 and 14.4±0.5. Yellowness (b*) was 12.6±0.8 and 11.7±0.7. Redness was the 22% and 24% of lightness and yellowness was the 21% and 19% of lightness, so redness was higher in the ratio of white people`s skin colors than yellowness. When beige 1.0 g, carmine 0.66 g, and cobalt blue 0.13 g were combined in the colorant combination ratio of pigments, △Eab* was 5.0, which was very similar to skin colors and so was used for the concentration of fabricating silicone pieces. When three colorant-combined pigment 1.0 g was mixed with silicone 100 g and so the silicone piece was fabricated and attached to white people experiment subjects` left cheek and then their chromaticity was compared, ?Eab* was 3.2 for a thickness of 2 mm, △Eab* was 7.8 for a thickness of 4 mm, and △Eab* was 11.1 for a thickness of 6 mm. So, the thicker the silicone piece was, the darker its color was. When the silicone pieces having a thickness of 2 mm were attached to experimental subjects` skins, colors were similar and so showed no difference to the naked eye. Therefore, because silicone thickness influences its chromaticity, it is desirable to fabricate its prosthesis in consideration of such thickness. When such fabricated silicone pieces were applied to wound make-up, there was no sense of difference on attached boundary surfaces, and the skin surfaces swollen owing to wounds and the incised wound were expressed realistically. In old people make-up, the features of aged skins, including the minute wrinkles on the forehead, the drooping under the eye, and the wrinkles around the mouth, were expressed delicately and realistically. Thus, it was confirmed that such silicon pieces could be used very usefully for would make-up and old people make-up. So, when silicone is used in special make-up by combining colorants for realistic and detailed expressions, even if three pigments, that is, beige, carmine, and cobalt blue, are combined properly with the naked eye, the differences of its chromaticity are not shown clearly. In contrast, the thickness of silicon pieces influences greatly their chromaticity. Therefore, it is very desirable to utilize silicon pieces on the spots of special make-up industry in consideration of the importance of their thickness.
간호대학생 부모의 사회적 지지가 대학생활적응 및 진로정체감에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 간호대학생의 대학생활적응, 진로정체감에 영향을 미치는 요인과 부모의 사회적지지에 따라 학년별 변화 를 보고자 하였다. 서울과 지방의 4년제 간호대학생 542명을 대상으로 일반적 특성, 부모 각각의 사회적 지지, 대학생활적응, 진로정체감을 자기기입식으로 설문조사를 시행하였다. 간호대학생들의 부모의 사회적 지지가 대학생활적응과 진로정체감에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 Hierarchical Regression을 실시하였다. 부모의 사회적 지지는 대학생활적응, 진로정체감에 영향 을 미쳤다. 대학생활적응에 영향을 미치는 요인은 학년, 전공만족도, 어머니의 정서적 지지였다. 진로정체감에 영향을 미치는 요인은 학년, 전공만족도, 아버지의 정보적 지지였다. 간호학생의 대학생활적응을 높이기 위해 교수들은 효율적인 학습법 개발과 더불어 부모의 면담을 통한 사회적지지의 필요성을 알리고 전공지식과 학습 방법에 대한 정보 공유, 간호학 선배와의 의사소통을 통해 간호학 전공에 대한 인식을 높여줄 필요가 있다. The purpose of this study was to examine influential factors for the transition to college life and career identity of nursing students and what changes social support from parents brought about to them by academic year. The subjects in this study were 542 selected students who majored in nursing in four-year universities located in Seoul and the provinces. A self-administered survey was conducted to find out their general characteristics, social support from fathers and mothers, college adjustment and career identity. A hierarchical regression analysis was made to determine how social support from parents affected the college adjustment and career identity of the nursing students. Social support from parents had an impact on their college adjustment and career identity. The factors that affected college adjustment were academic year, satisfaction level with major and emotional support from mothers, and the factors that impacted on career identity were academic year, satisfaction level with major and informative support from fathers. In order to facilitate the college adjustment of nursing students, professors should try to develop efficient learning methods, meet with parents to inform them of the necessity of social support, share information on the major field of study and learning methods, and provide an opportunity for students to communicate with graduates or students who are years ahead of them in college so that they could have a better understanding of majoring in nursing.
