가와사끼 병 환아에서 이상뇌파와 신경학적 합병증 발현과의 연관성에 대한 고찰

목적 : 가와사끼 병의 뇌파 소견 및 다른 임상인자들과의 연관성을 알아보고자 하였다. 방법 : 1994년 1월부터 1995년 12월 사이에 순천향대학 천안병원 소아과에 입원한 23명의 신경학적으로 정상인 가와사끼 병 환아에게 뇌파검사를 실시하여 이를 검사시기, 성별, 연령, 혈소판, 간기능 검사치, 그리고 동맥류 유무등의 임상인자들과 비교하였다. 결과 : 이상뇌파가 23명중 52.2%인 12명에게서 관찰되었으며, 이상뇌파로는 예파 및 극파, 극·서파 복합 양상과 전반적인 배경파의 서파양상이 나타났다. 뇌파의 검사시기가 진단부터 1주 이내인 경우에 이상뇌파의 빈도가 그 후보다 의미있게 높았으나, 그 밖의 다른 임상인자와의 연관성은 별 의미가 없었다. 결론 : 가와사끼 병 초기에 이상뇌파가 나타나는 것은 비록 신경적 증상은 없지만 중추 신경계가 영향을 받는다는 간접적인 증거로 생각할 수 있어 향후 신경적 합병증 발생 여부에 대한 면밀한 관찰이 필요하다고 생각된다. Purpose : This study is to find out if there is any association between EEG abnormalities in Kawasaki disease with other clinical factors. Methods : We performed EEG in 23 Kawasaki disease patients without any neurologic sign who admitted in Soonchunhyang Chunan Hospital from 1994. 1. to 1995. 12. and compared it with sex, age, platelet count, liver function test and presence of coronary artery aneurysm. Results : Abnormal EEG findings were observed in 12 of 23 patients(52.2%) and as for abnormal EEG findings, sharp, spike, spike & slow wave complex, and generalized slow background activity were noted. When EEG was performed within a week after the diagnosis, the incidence of abnormalities of EEG increased significantly but there was no correlation with other clinical factors. Conclusion : EEG abnormalities in the early stage of Kawasaki disease indicate that although there is no abnormal neurologic signs clinically, central nervous system might be affected and there should be a close observation for the developement of neurologic complication.

Alfalfa weevil, Hypera postica Gyllenhal, is regarded as one of the most important insect pests on Chinese milk vetch and hairy vetch. The insect usually feed on leaves, stems and pods of the green manure which causes severe reduction of biomass. This study was conducted to observe the occurrence of H. postica larva and adult on Chinese milk vetch in 2009 to 2010, and to evaluate host plants preference of 11 different seedlings in 2010, Milyang, Korea. Occurrence of H. postica larvae on Chinese milk vetch was observed to increase from early April clearly and its peak population was showed during middle to late April. The 1st generation of newly emerged adult of H. postica was appeared on 20th May. Newly emerged H. postica adult was fed on green manure such as Chinese milk vetch and hairy vetch as well as various seedlings located at nearby upland. And then the insects were migrated into aestivating places in middle to late of June. Thus, host plant preference of H. postica adults were evaluated with 11 different seedlings using transparent acrylcage and at Chinese milk vetch field. As a result, H. postica adult preferred on Chinese cabbage, followed by soybean, kale, foxtail millet and proso millet. The damaged rating of seedlings were shown to have the same trend with adult occurrence. In particular, few H. postica adults were occurred on eggplant, lettuce, corn, crown daisy and peanut, and thereby those crops were regarded as non-preference plants due to the absence of damage. These informations can be used by upland farmers who sowing from late May to early June for effective management of H. postica.
Visual Preferences of Pentatomids and an Alydid: Color and LED Tests

Several pentatomids and an alydid are reported inflicting losses in several host plants ranging from leguminous crops to fruit orchards in Korea. Understanding their visual preference would help develop mass trapping or efficient monitoring device. Visual preference of the major pentatomids and an alydid bugs to different colors and light emitting diodes (LED) of different wavelengths were observed. Adults of pentatomid such as Halyomorpha halys Stål, Plautia Stali Scott, and Nezara sp., and an alydid Riptortus pedestris (F.) were exposed to seven different colors (black, yellow, green, blue, white, cream, orange) in a multiple choice tests. Also, adult and second instar nymphs of the bugs were released inside a hexagonal LED boxes consisting of LED lamps of six different wavelengths (375 to 630 nm). Most of the pentatomids showed highest preference to blue color followed by yellow and 530 nm LED. However, R. pedestris showed higher preference to the yellow color followed by blue and black. Second instar nymphs of all the tested species also showed higher preference to 530 nm. Their color and LED lamp preference would help in development of mass trapping device.
Evaluation of Different Light Colors in Solar Trap as Attractants to Cereal and Legume Insect Pests

백색, 적색(680±20nm), 황색(600 ± 20 nm), 녹색(525 ± 25 nm),청색(400 ± 10 nm), 흑색(365 ± 10 nm) 및 변환(다양한 파장)램프를 가지는 솔라트랩을 잡곡 및 두류포장에서 설치하여 나비목, 노린재목 및 딱정벌레목의 주요 해충에 대한 유인효과를 잡곡 및 두류포장에 설치하여 10일 간격으로 조사하여 평가하였다. 채집된 충수는 조사시기와 램프의 색깔에 따라 크게 영향을 받았으며, 조사시기와 램프의 색깔의 상호작용 효과도 있었다. 암청색램프에서 매미충류를 제외하고 가장 많은해충이 유인되었다. 따라서 암청색램프는 해충의 대량포획뿐만아니라 예찰을 위해 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다. 솔라트랩의 암청색램프와 페로몬의 조합은 잡곡 및 두류 해충의 포획효과를 증진시킬 수 있어 종합관리를 위한 유망한 수단으로사용될 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다.
Attractiveness of conspecific stink bugs to adult stink bug-baited traps in soybean fields

The attractiveness of live adult stink bugs used as baits in traps in soybean fields, Milyang, Korea, to conspecific stink bugs was evaluated. Both sexes of bean bug, Riptortus pedestris Fabricius (Hemiptera: Alididae), and one-banded stink bug, Piezodorus hybneri Gmelin (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), were attracted to conspecific male adults-baited traps. Likewise, both sexes of brown-marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys Stål (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), and sole bug, Dolycoris baccarum L. (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), were attracted to traps baited with conspecific male stink bugs. However, in Nezara antennata Scott (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae),both male and female used as baits in traps were attractive to conspecific adults. Accordingly, these results suggest that the only male adults of H. halys and D. baccarum and both sexes of N. antennata are attractive to conspecific male stink bugs.

The bean bug, Riptortus pedestris (Fabricius), is one of the major pests of soybean; this pest mainly feeds on soybean pods. Its population is highest when the soybean plants bear mature seeds. We aimed to determine the effect of bean bug infestation on soybean according to changes in nutrient levels and seed germination potential. Newly emerged adult males of R. pedestris (n = 5 per plant) were released into a meshed cage containing soybean plants at the R5 stage. Another meshed cage with soybean plants was treated as control. Healthy seeds harvested from control plants were selected and accounted as undamaged seeds and seeds from bug-released cages were visually categorized into 7 different classes according to the intensity of damage incurred due to bean bug infestation. The seeds were then compared in terms of changes in weight, protein, lipid, and carbohydrate content, and germination potential. Elevated protein levels were observed in seeds that showed a higher intensity of damage. On the other hand, the lipid and carbohydrate contents and germination potential were reduced in seeds showing a higher degree of damage. Germination potential in terms of lipid and carbohydrate loss caused by bug infestation is also discussed.
Oviposition Preference and Development of Adzuki Bean Weevil on Different Leguminous Seeds

This study was conducted to determine the oviposition preference and development of adzuki bean weevil, Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) (Coleoptera: Bruchidae) on five different leguminous seeds a) cowpea, b) white kidney bean c) soybean cultivar Daepung d) mung bean and e) azuki bean. A multiple choice test and a nochoice test were conducted to record the number of eggs laid, total developmental time, number of adults emerged, and adult longevity of C. chinensis on the five different leguminous seeds. Both choice and no-choice tests revealed cowpea seed as the most preferred oviposition substrate. Total developmental time from egg to adult stage ranged from 28 to 31 days; shortest of that on the cowpea followed by adzuki and mung bean seeds. Successful development of C. chinensis was not witnessed on soybean or on kidney bean. Rate of adult emergence was higher on adzuki and mung bean seeds with longer adult longevity of those emerged from adzuki bean and cowpea. Higher egg laying preference and shorter developmental time with longer adult longevity of the beetle on cowpea probably signifies importance of physical as well as chemical attributes of the seed as an oviposition substrate other than evolutionary history of the insect. Cowpea seeds can possibly be used as a pull stimulus either as a trap crop or as a stimulant in the mechanical traps against C. chinensis where other leguminous host crops are grown as main crops.
