PTP1B inhibitory activity of kaurane diterpenes isolated from <i>Siegesbeckia glabrescens</i>

<P>Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) is considered as a therapeutic target for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. In our preliminary screening study, a MeOH extract of the aerial part of <I>Siegesbeckia glabrescens</I> was found to inhibit PTP1B activity at 30 μg/mL. Bioassay‐guided fractionation led to the isolation of two active diterpenes, <I>ent</I>-16&bgr;H,17-isobutyryloxy-kauran-19-oic acid (<B>1</B>) and <I>ent</I>-16&bgr;H,17-acetoxy-18-isobutyryloxy-kauran-19-oic acid (<B>2</B>), along with <I>ent</I>-16&bgr;H,17-hydroxy-kauran-19-oic acid (<B>3</B>). Compounds <B>1</B> and <B>2</B> inhibited the PTP1B activity with IC<SUB>50</SUB> values of 8.7 ± 0.9 and 30.6 ± 2.1 μM, respectively. Kinetic studies suggest that both <B>1</B> and <B>2</B> are non-competitive inhibitors of PTP1B. However, compound <B>3</B> substituted with a hydroxyl group at C-17 in kaurane-type showed no inhibitory effects towards PTP1B.</P>
Polymer-based interconnection cables to integrate with flexible penetrating microelectrode arrays

<P>There have been various types of interconnection methods for neural interfacing electrodes, such as silicon ribbon cables, wire bonding and polymer-based cables. In this study, interconnection cables were developed for integration with a Flexible Penetrating Microelectrode Array (FPMA) that was previously developed for neural signal recording or stimulation. Polyimide and parylene C were selected as base materials for the interconnection cables as both materials can preserve the flexibility of the FPMA better than other interconnection methods such as silicon ribbon cable or wire bonding. We conducted durability tests to determine if the interconnection cables were suitable for in-vivo implantation, by long-term soaking of the cables in phosphate buffered saline solution. We measured the changes in impedance over time, and equivalent circuit models were used to analyze the electrochemical phenomena on the surface of the cables. Lastly, we implanted the cable-integrated electrodes device onto rabbit's sciatic nerve and recorded neural signals to prove the feasibility of the developed FPMA integration system.</P>

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>The tall cell variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (TCVPTC) is more aggressive than classic papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), but the percentage of tall cells needed to diagnose TCVPTC remains controversial. In addition, little is known about the clinicopathologic features of classic PTC with tall cell features (TCF).</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>We retrospectively selected and reviewed the clinicopathologic features and presence of the <I>BRAF</I> mutation in 203 cases of classic PTC, 149 cases of classic PTC with TCF, and 95 cases of TCVPTCs, which were defined as PTCs having <10%, 10-50%, and ≥50% tall cells, respectively.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>TCVPTCs and classic PTCs with TCF did not vary significantly in clinicopathologic characteristics such as pathologic (p) T stage, extrathyroidal extension, pN stage, lateral lymph node metastasis, or <I>BRAF</I> mutations; however, these features differed significantly in TCVPTCs and classic PTCs with TCF in comparison to classic PTCs. Similar results were obtained in a subanalysis of patients with microcarcinomas (≤1.0 cm in size).</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>Classic PTCs with TCF showed a similar <I>BRAF</I> mutation rate and clinicopathologic features to TCVPTCs, but more aggressive characteristics than classic PTCs.</P>
다문화가정청소년의 이중문화수용성과 성취동기와의 관계연구: 사회적위축의 매개효과

본 연구는 다문화가정청소년을 대상으로 이중문화수용성이 성취동기에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 위축이 매개효과의 역할을 하는지 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 다문화청소년패널조사(MAPS: multicultural adolescents panel study) 중 8차년도 자료를 사용하였다. 사회적 위축의 매개효과를 확인하기 위해 회귀분석과 Sobel검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 다문화가정청소년의 이중문화수용태도가 높을수록 사회적 위축수준이 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이중문화수용태도가 증가할수록 다문화청소년의 성취동기는 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 사회적위축의 매개효과검증결과 이중문화수용성은 사회적 위축을 매개로 하여 성취동기에 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 다문화청소년의 성취동기를 향상하기 위해 이중문화수용을 위한 방안과 사회적위축을 감소시키기 위한 다양한 개입전략을 제언하였고 후속연구의 방향을 제시하였다. This study examined the mediating effect of social withdrawal in the relationship between bicultural acceptance and achievement motivation among multicultural adolescents. To achieve this, the participants of the 8th year of Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS) were used for the data analysis. In order to explore the social withdrawal’s mediating effect, regression analysis and Sobel test were used. The results were as followed. First, multicultural adolescents’ social withdrawal decreased as their bicultural acceptance increased. Second, multicultural adolescents’ achievement motivation increased as their bicultural acceptance increased. Lastly, social withdrawal had a partially significant mediating effect in the relationship between bicultural acceptance and achievement motivation among multicultural adolescents. Based on the study results, this study suggested the direction of future studies and the necessity of more interventions and strategies to increase bicultural acceptance and to decrease social withdrawal for the increase of multicultural adolescents’ achievement motivation.

From selecting a brand that matches the big landmark of Kang Information, we investigated and analyzed the characteristics of the commercial space and precautions for design, and studied factors such as display methods and human behavior in detail about the composition of the space using them. After selecting the main theme of the commercial space, the space was designed using the sub-concepts of the subject, and at the same time, by completing the space plan by keeping in mind the previous research and predicting the consumer behavior and effect of the space, the relationship between the customer’s residence time in the commercial space, the importance of the customer, and the importance of the various ways in which the brand is melted are presented in the opinion on the formation of an architectural space that creates a well-organized atmosphere.
지방직 공무원이 인식하는 인사공정성이 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 기초지방자치단체에서 인사공정성(분배・절차・상호작용 공정성)이 직무만족 및 조직몰입(정서적・지속적・규범적 몰입)에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 충청북도 소재 기초지방자치단체 공무원 409명을 대상으로 수집한 설문지를 통계분석에 활용하였으며, 가설검증을 위하여 회귀분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인사공정성은 분배공정성, 상호작용공정성, 절차공정성, 순으로 직무만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인사공정성은 절차공정성, 분배공정성, 상호작용공정성 순으로 정서적 몰입 및 규범적 몰입에 각각 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 인사공정성은 상호작용 공정성만 지속적 조직몰입에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 토대로 이론적, 실무적, 정책적 함의가 논의되었으며, 연구의 한계와 후속 연구의 방향이 함께 제시되었다. The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of personnel fairness (distribution, procedure, and interaction fairness) on job satisfaction and organizational commitment (emotional, continuous, and normative commitment) in basic local governments. To this end, the results of questionnaire collected from 409 public officials in the basic local governments in Chungcheongbuk-do were used to verify the hypothesis through the regression analysis. First, personnel fairness was found to have a positive effect on job satisfaction in the order of distribution fairness, interaction fairness, and procedural fairness. Second, it was found that personnel fairness had a positive effect on emotional commitment and normative commitment, respectively, in the order of procedural fairness, distribution fairness, and interaction fairness. Third, in personnel fairness, only interaction fairness has a positive effect on continuous organizational commitment. Based on the results of the study, theoretical, practical, and policy implications were discussed, and the limitations along with future study directions were also presented.
큰 에디 모사 기법을 이용한 회전익 무인비행체 주위 유동해석

Large eddy simulation is conducted to analyze the flow structures around a propeller of a multirotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The propeller consists of two blades, and the angle of attack of blades varies along the spanwise (radial) direction. An immersed boundary method is used to satisfy the no-slip condition on the propeller surface in a noninertial reference frame (Kim and Choi, 2006). A global dynamic subgrid-scale model (Lee et al., 2010) is used for the subgrid-scale stress tensor. The Reynolds number based on the tip velocity and chord length at the 75% span is about 73,000. The lift coefficient from the present numerical simulation is in good agreements with that from experiments. The flow around the propeller is nearly attached on the surfaces, and wingtip vortices are generated near the tip of the propeller during rotation. To predict the performance of the propeller, the sectional lift coefficient is obtained along the spanwise direction and compared with models derived using the thin airfoil theory and actuator disk model, showing good agreements.
