Determination of 137Cs, 40K and 210Po in water, bottom sediments and suspended matter of river systems of the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve, Vietnam was carried out. The average activity concentration of 137Cs in waters of Ca Gau and Long Tau was 0.89 ± 0.14 and 1.08 ± 0.15 Bq m3 and was comparable to the levels of this radioisotope in waters of the East Sea. The activity concentration of 137Cs in bottom sediments was 2.23 ± 0.81 and 3.63 ± 1.24 Bq kg1 . The activity concentration of 137Cs in water and bottom sediments could be characterized as low. So, the water areas of the Ca Gau and Long Tau rivers could be attributed to areas with insignificant pollution by technogenic radionuclides. The 210Ро activity concentration in bottom sediments of the Ca Gau and Long Tau rivers ranged from 9.2 ± 1.2 to 25.5 ± 2.1 Bq kg1 , which is typical for river bottom sediments. Such values indicate the absence of anthropogenic enhancement of the entry of this radionuclide into the Can Gio river systems. The 40K activity concentration varied within 467 ± 42e651 ± 39 Bq kg1 and represented typical values of potassium content in the bottom sediments of coastal water bodies, subject to a significant influence of the lithogenic component of suspended matter.
Biomarker for Ischemic Stroke Using Metabolome: A Clinician Perspective

Finding ischemic stroke biomarker is highly desirable because it can improve diagnosis even before a patient arrives to the hospital. Metabolome is one of new technologies that help to find biomarkers. Most metabolome-related ischemic stroke studies were done in Asia and had exploratory designs. Although failed to find specific biomarkers, they discovered several important metabolite-stroke associations which belong to three pathophysiological mechanisms: Excitotoxicity with activation of glutamate, resulting in the increase of glutamate derivatives proline and pyroglutamate; Oxidative stress with production of free radicals and perturbed concentrations of uric acid, matrix metalloproteinase-9, branch-chained amino acids, sphingolipids, homocysteine, asymmetric dimethylarginine, nitric oxide and folate cycle metabolites; and Stroke mediated inflammation, affecting phospholipid metabolism with perturbed levels of lysophosphatidylethanolamine and lysophosphatidylcholine. The discovered metabolite-stroke associations need further evaluation in prospective, high-quality studies with patients matched for age, risk factors, and medications.

The variable shaping technique provides the growth of crystals with a discrete altering cross-section configuration during crystallization. The dynamic local shaping technique enables one to grow items with a continuous alteration of the side surface profile by a preset program.
GNSS-based auroral oval boundary movements prediction using machine learning

The ionosphere is the part of the Earth's atmosphere with a high concentration of free electrons and ions. The ionosphere is characterised by its variability and inhomogeneity. One of the characteristic inhomogeneities is the so-called auroral oval, which determines the range of auroral radiance. Detection of the auroral oval is an important task for forecasting auroral storms, as they affect long-range communication systems, navigation, satellite-to-ground communications, making communications complicated or impossible. Therefore, an auroral oval detection and prediction needs to be performed in order to be informed about the area of their possible influence at certain time intervals. On the basis of the available image dataset from SIMuRG, which is based on GNSS data, it is proposed to use the LSTM model and CNN architecture. The paper reviews existing implementations and proposes a method for predicting auroral oval movements in the images, using the Convolutional LSTM architecture, which combines time series processing and computer vision. The work results in a machine learning model that can make the predictions based on even small sets of data.

New method of control based upon a physical model of the Stepanov growth technique has been developed. The controller keeps the system stable and completely denies operator's interference into the process. The system demonstrates very reliable results under commercial production of shaped sapphire crystals.

Its fluorine atoms induce a large shift in the energy levels with respect to C<SUB>60</SUB>.
