      • Layering Effects on Clothing Microclimate, Clothing Insulation and Physiological Responses

        This study investigated the relationship of clothing microclimate and physiological responses in order to examine the layering effects on the clothing microclimate as an index to predict clothing thermal insulation ($I_{cl}$). Experiments were conducted in a $15^{\circ}C$ environment on six physically active males. Increased clothing layers resulted in higher mean temperature inside the clothing ($\bar{T}_{cl}$) and $I_{cl}$. The $I_{cl}$ had a high correlation with: $\bar{T}_{cl}$ (r = 0.556), the difference between the innermost surface temperature and the outermost surface temperature at the chest (DST) (r = 0.549) and the temperature inside clothing at the abdomen (r = 0.478). $\bar{T}_{cl}$ had the highest correlation with the temperature inside clothing at the abdomen (r = 0.889). $\bar{T}_{cl}$ also had the highest correlation with $\bar{T}_{sk}$ (r = 0.860). The results showed that the relationship between $I_{cl}$ and $\bar{T}_{cl}$ was linear (p < .01). Thermal comfort had a negative correlation with $\bar{T}_{cl-thigh}$ (r=-0.411) and $\bar{T}_{cl}$ (r = -0.323) (p < .01.)

        This study investigated the relationship of clothingmicroclimate and physiological responses in order toexamine the layering effects on the clothing microclimate asan index to predict clothing thermal insulation (Icl).Experiments were conducted in a 15oC environment on sixphysically active males.         Body Mapping of Subjectively Assessed Sweat Sensation and Thermal Comfort in Cycling Wear

        자전거 이용은 에너지 기후 시대를 맞이한 오늘날, 녹색성장의 기초방안으로 거론되고 있으며, 레저 활동 및 건강 증진의 관점에서도 주목받고 있다. 그러나 사이클 의복에 대한 온열생리반응 및 주관적 감각 측면의 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 286명의 정기적인 자전거 이용자를 대상으로 사이클링 시 주관적으로 인지되는 계절별 서열 스트레스, 발한, 불쾌감의 정도 등에 대해서 바디맵핑 기법을 적용한 설문지를 이용하여 조사하였다. 그 결과, 응답자들은 사이클 의복에 있어서 가장 불쾌감을 느끼는 측면은 땀처리 문제라고 하였다. 발한에 따른 불쾌감은 심지어 겨울에도 높았으며, 모든 계절에 있어서 사이클링 시 쾌적감 향상을 위해서는 사이클 의복의 등, 엉덩이샅, 겨드랑이, 가슴 부위의 개선이 필요한 것으로 조사되었다. 특히 겨울용 사이클 의복의 경우, 등 부위에서는 땀 배출이 효과적일 수 있도록 환기 성능(ventilation)이 고려되어야 하는 한편, 가슴 부위에서는 보온성이 요구되는 등 상반되는 두 가지 성능이 동시에 고려되어져야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과가 쾌적성과 발한 관리 성능을 개선한 고성능의 사이클 의복의 디자인 개발에 도움이 되기를 기대한다. In the energy-conservation era, cycling is receiving worldwide attention and enjoying increased popularity. However, comprehensive studies related to subjective and objective thermophysiological responses for cycling wear are lacking. This study was conducted to investigate subjectively the thermal burden, sweat perception, and thermal comfort of various body parts during cycling. The questionnaire consisted of questions on perceived thermal feeling, sweating sensation, and consequent discomfort of different body parts while cycling during different seasons. Korean bicyclists (n = 286) participated to the survey. The results were as follows. The respondents reported sweat management as the most uncomfortable aspect of cycling wear. The discomfort due to sweating was dominant even in winter and indicated that clothing for the back, buttocks/crotch, axilla, and chest should be improved for better comfort. For winter wear, the results suggested the need for improved back ventilation and chest insulation. The findings provide practical insight into novel product designs and the development of high-performance cycling wear for better thermophysiological comfort and sweat management.

        온열요법으로서의 착의훈련이 고혈압 전단계자의 혈압 및 혈중 지질성분에 미치는 영향

        This study investigates the effects of wear training on blood pressure and blood lipid profiles. For the purpose of this research, ‘wear training’ refers to the alternating stimulation of temperature while using specific clothing under controlled situations (18.8±0.2℃, 38±3%RH). The participants alternated between two different garments producing a 1.5℃ difference in the innerest microclimate temperature over a period of 4 weeks. The experiments in this study were conducted in a comfortable environment after sufficient rest. The results were as follows. The systolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure were lower in the post test than in the pre test (p<.05). The atherogenic index (AI) was also reduced and the LDL-C/HDL-C ratio increased (p<.05) in the post test. These results demonstrated that wear training positively affected improvement in vascular stiffness.

        환경온도를 이용한 온도 자극이 혈역학 반응 및 체온조절 반응에 미치는 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate effects of thermal stimulation using an air temperature on hemodynamic responses including capillary diameters and relationship between hemodynamic and thermoregulatory responses. 22 male subjects participated under two experimental conditions: cold exposure (CE, 10.5±0.8℃) and heat exposure (HE, 40.9±0.4℃). Both arterial and venous diameters in CE were smaller than those in HE and flow velocity was 3 times faster in HE compared to CE (p<.001). Participants felt more uncomfortable and more intolerable in HE compared to CE (p<.05). The smaller venous diameter was, the higher blood pressures were, and venous diameter and flow velocity had positive relationships with microclimate temperature (p<.01) and skin and rectal temperatures (p<.05). Thermal sensation had positive relationships with venous diameter and flow velocity, while it had negative relationships with blood pressures (p<.01). These results indicate that vasoconstriction or vasodilatation can be measured directly and visually by using the capillaroscopy and hemodynamic responses including sizes of capillary have relationships with thermoregulatory responses.

        추운 계절 자전거 운동 시 부위별 피부온, 의복기후, 주관적 감각에 미치는 기류의 영향

        This study was conducted to investigate effects of air flow on physiological responses during winter cycling. Ten male volunteers were recruited and all tests were conducted in a climatic chamber (12 ± 0.5℃, 50 ± 5%RH) under two different conditions: the high airflow (HAF, 2 m/s) and the low airflow (LAF, < 0.2 m/s). Skin temperatures and clothing microclimates were higher in LAF than in HAF (p < .05) and participants felt hotter, wetter and more uncomfortable in LAF compared to in HAF (p < .05). Physiological responses and subjective sensations were different according to the regional body part (p < .05). These results suggest the need of body mapping technique on skin temperature, microclimate and subjective sensation, considering effects of air flow.

        혈압 관리를 위한 8주간의 온열교대 착의훈련이 고혈압환자의 혈압 및 혈중 지질 성분에 미치는 영향

        This study was performed on 14 participants with prehypertension or hypertension to investigate the effects of the wear training on the blood pressure and the blood lipid profile. Participants were randomly assigned to an experimental group(n = 7) and a control group(n = 7). Experimental group was performed the wear training. The wear training means the process for acclimation through the alternate stimulation of the temperature inside clothing. The experimental group wore two different garments with 3.0oC difference in the temperature of inside clothing in a climatic chamber (19.0±0.2oC, 45±5%RH) alternately for 8 weeks (3 times/week). The results were as follows. During 8 weeks of wear training, SBP and MAP had the reduced tendencies in EG. After wear training, the number of 1 stage hypertension patient was decreased from 5 to 3 in only EG. As for blood lipid profiles, TC, LDL-C were lowered in EG than in CG (p<.05) and AI and LDL-C/HDL-C ratio had the reduced tendencies in EG. These results showed that the wear training affected positively the improvement of hypertension.

        의약품의 약효를 안전하게 나타내기 위해서는 정확한 용량의 복용이 중오하다. 정해진 용법 ·용량에 따라 투여를 하더라도 1회 복용단위당 항량이 균일하지 않으면 복용자의 의지에' 관계없이 과량 혹은 유효량에 디치지 못하는 양을 복용하게 되므로 복용단위당 유효성분의 균질성은 매우 중요하다. 이에 국내 시판 의약품 중 경구용 성형제제를 대상으로 중랸과 항랑의 균질성 평가 및 상관성에 대한 기초적 연굴를 통하여 함량군일성시험의 규긱 설정에 관한 기준을 마련하고자 하였다. 국내 시판 중인 총 560롯트의 경구용 성형제제에 대하여 주성분의 수 함량 등에 따라 븐류하고 함량시험, 중량편차, 함량균일성시험을 실새하여 중량편차와 함량균일성의 상관계수를 구하였으며, 상관성분석을 통하여 각 분류한 군에서 상관성 있는 것으로 나타난 롯트의 비을을 살펴보았다. 주성분 함유량 2% 미만, 혹은 2 mg 미만인 제제에서는 함량균일성으로의 관리가 필요한 것으로 나타났으며, 제형에 따라서는 당의정에서 상패적으로 상관성 있는 롯트의 수가 적게 나타나 함량균일성으로의 관리가 필요한 것으로 나타났다
