Multi-unit dwellings, such as apartment housing, town houses, and flats, are some of the most common housing types in Korea, as well as in other countries. Such multi-unit dwellings are considered an effective means to overcome the housing problems of high-density population in urban areas, owing to their high efficiency of land utilisation. However, interlayer noise complaints, such as footsteps or dragging items in apartment housing, are an inevitable problem in apartment dwelling conditions, because each household in an apartment shares walls and ceilings with other households. This paper presents the results acquired from the field test of the floor impact sound insulation performance of a voided slab system as applied to a commercial residential-complex building in South Korea. The results have shown that adopting the voided slab system for a commercial residential-complex building increased floor impact sound insulation performance. The test results show that the sound insulation performance of the voided slab system applied in the building for lightweight and heavyweight floor impact sound reached (47 and 41) dB, respectively. Based on the results of the field tests, it is expected that the application of the voided slab systems to the slabs of the apartment dwellings would be effective, and offer outstanding sound insulation performance. Moreover, it is expected that the floor impact sound insulation performance would be further improved, if the floor finishing materials, such as carpet or other types of flooring material, would first be installed onto the floor.

It is considered that the construction industry is one of the pivotal players in the national economy in terms of Gross Domestic Production (GDP) and employment. Behind the positive role of this industrial sector to the national economy, the construction industry generates approximately 50 % of the total waste generation from all the industrial sectors. There are several measures to mitigate the adverse impacts of the construction waste such as reduce, reuse and recycle. Recycling would be one of the effective strategies for waste minimisation, which would be able to reduce the demand upon new resources as well as enhance reusing the construction materials on sites. The automated construction waste classification system would make it possible not only to reduce the amount of labour input but also mitigate the possibility of errors during the manual classification process. In this study, we proposed an automated waste segmentation and classification system for recycling the construction and demolition waste in the real construction site context. Since the practical application to the real-world construction sites was one of the significant factors to develop the system, a YOLACT (You Only Look At CoefficienTs) algorithm was chosen to conduct the study. In this study, it is expected that the proposed system would make it possible to enhance the productivity as well as the cost efficiency by reducing the manpower for the construction and demolition waste management at the construction site.

The construction industry, which has a labour-intensive and conservative nature, is exclusive to adopt new technologies. However, the construction industry is viably introducing the 4th Industrial Revolution technologies represented by artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, robotics and unmanned transportation to promote change into a smart industry. An image-based artificial intelligence technology is a field of computer vision technology that refers to machines mimicking human visual recognition of objects from pictures or videos. The purpose of this article is to explore image-based artificial intelligence technologies which would be able to apply to the construction sites. In this study, we show two examples which is one for a construction waste classification model and another for cast in-situ anchor bolts defection detection model. Image-based intelligence technologies would be used for various measurement, classification, and detection works that occur in the construction projects.

If the real-time maximum traction force between the tire and the road can be precisely estimated. it would be easier to control the vehicle behavior. Usually, estimation of friction coefficient requires tire tread stiffness and tire contact length on road surface. But in this research, tire tread stiffness property and contact length are obtained from traction force and self-aligning moment. Using the estimation method introduced in this paper, only required parameters are lateral, longitudinal, vertical force, self-aligning moment and rotational speeds of all wheel. Isotropic tire brush model is used to obtain the equations of traction force and self-aligning moment. Validation of developed algorithm is performed based on real tire data, and the possibility of friction coefficient estimation is confirmed. Error analysis of wheel sensor error was also concerned.

Water separating performance of fuel filter for common rail(CR) diesel engine is very important. Water in fuel bring problem to precision fuel supply components of engine. At the point of view of domestic vehicle market, CR diesel engine is spreaded so widely but almost of fuel filter paper for CR diesel engine is imported because water separation ability is very important characteristic and it is difficult to satisfy required performance. Method for water separation ability of fuel filter was performed using filter finished product. This method was difficult to understand paper own water separating characteristic and required assembled filter. An aim of this research is creating new water separation test method for paper itself and evaluating validity of developed test method.

Operating range of automobile engine including low speed (~500rpm) and it makes remarkable vibration when vehicle stop temporary. One of requirement for modern automobile is vibration reduction and it need more attention to detail. Making control logic for idle range operating active engine mount system can be easy compared with full active engine mount system because idle range active mount can be controlled based on lookup table according to case by case and a number of cases are limited and predictable. The things that Most of vehicle idle states can be revived by experimenter and limited numbers of idle states can make lookup table for control logic of active engine mount and it can be achieved by experimental method. The subject of this paper is experimental method collecting data for making control logic of idle range active engine mount and examples of experimental result including review.

The efficiency of common rail diesel engine is higher and higher, the loss of heat is lower and lower. It means it is difficult to use waste heat of engine for air conditioning. For that reason, engine independent heater for cabin room was required and fuel air heater was developed. Domestic requirenemt of Fuel pre heater is higher, t localization of the heater is required. Test method for fuel pre heater have to be developed because operation condition is severe and climate of domestic region is mild compared with other northern country. This research carried out analysis of exhaust gas of heater prototype and development of low temperature heater start tester. Low temperature start test result through test equipment was clearly visible.

The aim of this research is creating new water separation test method for paper itself and evaluating validity of developed test method. Variation of filter area are bring about changing of fuel flow rate/pressure difference ratio and effect of this changing must be discovered.
