This study provides an assessment of anthropogenic mercury releases from some of primary manganese and nickel production facilities with mercury mass distribution in South Korea since primary metal production facilities have been regarded as one of the important mercury emission sources in South Korea. Cold vapor atomic absorption spectroscopy (CVAAS) Hg analyzer (RA-915+, Lumex) was used for the analysis of mercury content in each sample. For the sample preparation, solid samples were pretreated according to modified US EPA method 7470A. During the field test, the flue gas was also sampled by Ontario Hydro Method. Data were utilized for the estimation of Hg distribution ratio onto each media (non-ferrous product, waste slag, fly ash, and exhaust gas), and of overall amount of recoverable mercury from the industrial waste generated at manganese and nickel industries. In case of manganese facility, the slag contains a large amount of manganese composition was reused as a raw material of production process. And in case of nickel facility, all amount of fly ash was reused as raw material in the production process. The amount of mercury recoverable from each media including slag, fly ash, and waste refractory in manganese and nickel industries was estimated at the range from 74 to 875 kg with an overall annual amount of 475 kg.
Changes in Pharyngeal Width Over Time as an Indicator of Dysphagia in Stroke Patients

Objective To verify the pharyngeal width at rest as a measurement that could be used to assess changes in the degree of dysphagia over time in stroke patients. Methods In a cohort of stroke patients, we performed serial measurements of the pharyngeal width at the midpoints of the second (C2) and third (C3) cervical vertebral bodies using lateral neck X-rays while the patients were at rest. The JOSCYL width, a parameter named after the first initial of each developers’ surname and defined as the average value of the upper and lower pharyngeal widths, was used to formulate the JOSCYL scale, which was calculated as the JOSCYL width × 100/neck circumference. All patients also underwent serial videofluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSSs). The Spearman correlation analysis was used to detect correlations between the serial VFSS results, JOSCYL widths, and JOSCYL scale values. Results Over time, we observed significant positive and negative correlations of change in the JOSCYL width and scale with changes in the Penetration-Aspiration Scale and the Dysphagia Outcome and Severity Scale scores, respectively. Conclusion The JOSCYL width and JOSCYL scale clearly reflected changes in dysphagia in stroke patients over time. These parameters may provide an easier method for evaluating whether post-stroke dysphagia has been alleviated.

문서의 논리적 구조정보를 표현하는 SGML 문서는 CALS, 디지털 도서관(Digital Library), 인터넷 분야에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 이렇게 SGML 문서들이 널리 사용됨에 따라 문서들의 효율적인 관리가 필요하게 되었고, 사용자가 원하는 문서를 정확하고 신속하게 검색해 줄 수 있는 검색 시스템의 개발이 필요하게 되었다. 좀더 정확한 문서를 검색해 내기 위해서는 SGML 문서의 특징인 구조 정보를 이용한 검색이 필수적이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 효율적인 SGML 문서의 검색을 위한 구조적 기반의 질의어로 eXOL을 정의하고, 이를 지원하는 검색시스템을 개발하였다. 특히 질의어에 경로 연산자를 지원하여 원하는 정보를 정확하게 찾을 수 있도록 한다. 또한 본 시스템은 구조적인 검색을 효율적으로 지원하기 위하여 구조정보를 DSSSL의 Grove에 기반한 구조로 저장한다.

In 2013 Korean New Car Assessment Program(KNCAP), An assessment of the 5<SUP>th</SUP> %ile female Hybrid Ⅲ dummy in the front passenger position was initiated for protecting transportation vulnerable. In 2017, not only the front passenger seat, roadmap to assess female occupant in the drivers seat is presented. To satisfy the assessment of the 5<SUP>th</SUP> %ile female dummy, manufacturer is developing and optimizing restraints system. In this paper, series of sled test were conducted to 50<SUP>th</SUP> %ile and 95<SUP>th</SUP> %ile Hybrid Ⅲ dummy in order that restraints system optimized for female passenger can satisfy injury value to the various occupants.
Increased white matter diffusivity associated with phantom limb pain

Background: We utilized diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to evaluate the cerebral white matter changes that are associated with phantom limb pain in patients with unilateral arm amputation. It was anticipated that this would complement previous research in which we had shown that changes in cerebral blood volume were associated with the cerebral pain network. Methods: Ten patients with phantom limb pain due to unilateral arm amputation and sixteen healthy age-matched controls were enrolled. The intensity of phantom limb pain was measured by the visual analogue scale (VAS) and depressive mood was assessed by the Hamilton depression rating scale. Diffusion tensor-derived parameters, including fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, axial diffusivity (AD), and radial diffusivity (RD), were computed from the DTI. Results: Compared with controls, the cases had alterations in the cerebral white matter as a consequence of phantom limb pain, manifesting a higher AD of white matter in both hemispheres symmetrically after adjusting for individual depressive moods. In addition, there were associations between the RD of white matter and VAS scores primarily in the hemispheres related to the missing hand and in the corpus callosum. Conclusions: The phantom limb pain after unilateral arm amputation induced plasticity in the white matter. We conclude that loss of white matter integrity, particularly in the hemisphere connected with the missing hand, is significantly correlated with phantom limb pain.

It has been already announced that the Deployable Hood system consider in Korea inspection, so manufacturers developed their Vehicles with following it. But after 2015, KNCAP change test protocols, new assessment replace Pedestrian Protection scoring. Based on the new protocol, it needs to check how much improve by using Deployable Hood system. Also, studying about different size of car, we can compare with the performance improvement on each case, and propose the best one. Furthermore, correlation between theory and physical test will be continued, it suppose to make a criteria for development.
Polyphosphide Precursor for Low-Temperature Solution-Processed Fibrous Phosphorus Thin Films

<P>Crystalline red phosphorus has very recently emerged as a stable and cost-effective semiconductor material. However, despite its potentiality in electronics and optoelectronics, the widespread application of this material is still hampered by the limited synthetic route of the ampoule-based chemical vapor deposition that critically requires mineralizing agents. To address this issue, we report the chemical synthesis of soluble polyphosphide precursors that serve as inks for the solution-processed fabrication of crystalline fibrous phosphorus thin films. The purified polyphosphide precursor formed crystalline fibrous phosphorus via thermal annealing at a temperature as low as 250 °C without any mineralizing agents. This anionic polyphosphide functioned as a surface-capping ligand for nanoparticles including metals, semiconductors, and magnets. Therefore, the study investigates the possibility of solution-processed fibrous phosphorus thin films as active channel layers in field-effect transistors as well as photodetectors and demonstrates their initial performances on the charge-transport and photoresponsive characteristics of these devices. The effect of semiconducting PbS nanoparticles embedded in the fibrous phosphorus thin films on device performance was also studied. The synthesized polyphosphide precursor offers a vast opportunity for the facile preparation of crystalline red phosphorus and chemical design of nanoparticles.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
