This paper presents methods of robot localization using recent Radio Frequency Identification technology. If the absolute location and orientation of a passive tag are given in indoor environment which is installed RFID tags, a robot can estimate its location using the relationship of identified tag and robot in relative coordinate. To derive this relationship, we proposes estimation techniques using the probabilistic model of RFID reader, the direction and the maximum range of identification. And condition-processor is combined in a suitable technique depending on the situation and the trajectory of robot in the field of range. Experimental results show that the proposed methods can provide good performance and thus be used for localization.
TOPKATⓇ, DerekⓇ, OECD toolbox를 활용한 화학물질 독성 예측 연구

Objectives: Quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) is one of the effective alternatives to animal testing, but its credibility in terms of toxicity prediction has been questionable. Thus, this work aims to evaluate its predictive capacity and find ways of improving its credibility. Methods: Using TOPKATⓇ , OECD toolbox, and DerekⓇ , all of which have been applied world-wide in the research, industrial, and regulatory fields, an analysis of prediction credibility markers including accuracy (A), sensitivity (S), specificity (SP), false negative (FN), and false positive (FP) was conducted. Results: The multi-application of QSARs elevated the precision credibility relative to individual applications of QSARs. Moreover, we found that the type of chemical structure affects the credibility of markers significantly. Conclusions: The credibility of individual QSAR is insufficient for both the prediction of chemical toxicity and regulation of hazardous chemicals. Thus, to increase the credibility, multi-QSAR application, and compensation of the prediction deviation by chemical structure are required.
Design of a Full-range ACC with Collision Avoidance Braking

This proposes a design methodology for a full-range ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) with collision avoidance braking. The control scheme is designed to control the vehicle so that it would feel natural to the human driver and passengers during normal safe driving situations, to completely avoid collision in vehicle following situations and to reduce the severity of collisions in unexpected emergency situations. Driving situations are determined by using a non-dimensional warning index and time-to-collision (TTC). The proposed control scheme can provide natural following performance similar to human manual driving in both high speed driving and low speed stop-and-go situations and can prevent vehicle collision in dangerous traffic situations such as severe braking of the preceding vehicle during a vehicle following situation.

To correct the relative location of an autonomous mobile robot, this paper proposes the location correction method using a single camera and an artificial visible polyhedron landmark with a RFID tag and its location with respect to the indoor environment is fixed. To achieve the purpose, the proposed algorithm should process the following 3 steps. At the first step, a robot rotates its RFID antenna to detect the direction angle which is the direction of the identified tag. At the second step, the algorithm applies Continuous Adaptive Mean Shift(CAMShift) method to extract the coordinates of feature points of the detected landmark. At the third step, the pose of the detected landmark can be estimated using the calibrated camera information of the robot. Finally the robot can correct its location efficiently.
