In this paper, an algorithm for fault location in Auto Transformer (AT) Feeding Railway system is presented. If a fault occurs at the AT feeding circuits of electrical railway system, it is very important to find fault location and to remove it immediately for the purpose of ensuring safety for transportation. Because the characteristics of reactance - distance are not linear, only using one terminal signals to give fault distance is difficult. In this paper, first, using the KVL, 4 voltage equation are obtained. Secondly, eliminatillg voltage a distance equation which consists of currents at rail and line parameters including mutual effects.
3차원 내시경에서 기본영상 변환을 통한 재생영상의 깊이감 개선 연구

Three-dimensional(3D) image is an image that provides the feeling of depth by perceiving different perspectives from two eyes. Nowadays, use of 3D image is being expended into area such as HDTV, computer monitors and cellular phone screens. In this thesis, 3D image formed on endoscope by using non-glass type lenticular lens method is implemented and investigated to solve the viewing angles limitation. For the first method, the distance between two eyes and the images collected from limited viewing angle of an endoscope was expanded to make a proper gap between two eyes. In this method, the elemental image and the distance between two images during reconstruction are simultaneously, magnified with same rate to provide the most optimal viewing distance for a human to feel it as 3D. However expanding the elemental image with arbitrary ratio causes discontinuity between two pixels in the elemental image. To compensate this problem, linearly interpolated new pixel can be inserted between two pixels. In the second method, synthetic images located at the corresponding position for two eyes were composed based on the collected two elemental images. This images were obtained from calculating the displacement and the location of each pixel by comparing both elemental images. This was compared with the actual images obtained from the same location. This confirmed that by combining the image with a new viewing: angle obtained from left and right elemental image using elemental image conversion it is possible to realize a 3D endoscope image with a normal viewing angle.

We have investigated the properties of an elemental image of singlet elemental lens for film and direct pick-up method, respectively. The optimized conditions, which are minimizing the distortions of the elemental image, of the elemental lens have been analyzed with the geometrical method and the comparison of the picked up images. As a result, it is down that the elemental image quality is strongly depend on not only the lens shape but also the pick-up method.

<P>AIM: Extract of Hominis Placenta (HP) has been used in oriental medicine as an agent for improving physiological function. The present study was conducted to investigate whether HP treatment in an experimental sciatic nerve injury animal model produces growth-promoting effects on regenerating peripheral nerve fibers after injury. METHODS: After HP was injected into a sciatic nerve injury site, changes in protein levels were analyzed in the regenerating nerve area by Western blotting and immunofluorescence staining analyses. For quantitative assessment of axonal regeneration, a retrograde tracing technique was used to identify the neuronal cell bodies corresponding to regenerating axons, and the extent of neurite outgrowth in cultured dorsal root ganglia (DRG) sensory neurons prepared from animals that had experienced a sciatic nerve crush injury 7 d before neuron collection was analyzed. RESULTS: Induction levels of axonal growth-associated protein (GAP-43) in the injured sciatic nerves were elevated by HP treatment. HP treatment also upregulated cell division cycle 2 (Cdc2) protein levels in the distal stump of the injured sciatic nerve. Induced Cdc2 protein was detected in Schwann cells, suggesting that Cdc2 kinase activity may be involved in the growth-promoting activity of regenerating axons via Schwann cell proliferation. Cell body measurement by retrograde tracing indicated that HP treatment produced significant increases in regenerating motor axons. Finally, HP treatment of cultured DRG sensory neurons significantly increased neurite arborization and elongation. CONCLUSION: HP promotes the regeneration of injured sciatic axons by upregulating the synthesis of regeneration-related protein factors such as GAP-43 and Cdc2.</P>
Silver nanoparticles enhance wound healing in zebrafish (<i>Danio rerio</i>)

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were successfully synthesized by a chemical reduction method, physico-chemically characterized and their effect on wound-healing activity in zebrafish was investigated. The prepared AgNPs were circular-shaped, water soluble with average diameter and zeta potential of 72.66 nm and −0.45 mv, respectively. Following the creation of a laser skin wound on zebrafish, the effect of AgNPs on wound-healing activity was tested by two methods, direct skin application (2 μg/wound) and immersion in a solution of AgNPs and water (50 μg/L). The zebrafish were followed for 20 days post-wounding (dpw) by visual observation of wound size, calculating wound healing percentage (WHP), and histological examination. Visually, both direct skin application and immersion AgNPs treatments displayed clear and faster wound closure at 5, 10 and 20 dpw compared to the controls, which was confirmed by 5 dpw histology data. At 5 dpw, WHP was highest in the AgNPs immersion group (36.6%) > AgNPs direct application group (23.7%) > controls (18.2%), showing that WHP was most effective in fish immersed in AgNPs solution. In general, exposure to AgNPs induced gene expression of selected wound-healing-related genes, namely, transforming growth factor (TGF-β), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) −9 and −13, pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and TNF-α) and antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase and catalase), which observed differentiation at 12 and 24 h against the control; but the results were not consistently significant, and many either reached basal levels or were down regulated at 5 dpw in the wounded muscle. These results suggest that AgNPs are effective in acceleration of wound healing and altered the expression of some wound-healing-related genes. However, the detailed mechanism of enhanced wound healing remains to be investigated in fish.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Synthesized AgNPs at 50 μg/L were not toxic to zebrafish at 96 h post-immersion. </LI> <LI> AgNPs exhibited clear and faster closure of laser wounds on zebrafish. </LI> <LI> AgNPs immersion was more efficient than direct application for healing the wounds. </LI> <LI> AgNPs altered gene expression of inflammatory phases during wound healing. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Since microRNA (abbreviated miRNA) biomarkers play an important role in tracing and diagnosing various tumors in the body’s gene translation, research and development to detect miRNAs simply and sensitivity is required. The biomarker of gastric cancer, miRNA-135b, is high expressed when gastritis progresses to gastric cancer. In this study, we used a lateral flow assay to confirm the overexpression pattern of miRNA-135b, gastric cancer associated biomarker. The current study aims to establish a system that can easily diagnose gastric cancer with the naked eye by grafting the product amplified by the rolling circle amplification (RCA) method with lateral flow biosensor. It could be successfully detected miRNA-135b, a gastric cancer-related biomarker, as well as miRNA-21, an oncogene, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 50 amol, respectively. In the future, this developed technology can be selected as a tool to detect multiple biomarkers related to various diseases (cancer, infectious disease, etc.), not limited to biomarkers of gastric cancer.
