북한은 유튜브를 통해 무엇을 말하는가?: 주제 분석과 텍스트마이닝 기반 분석을 중심으로

This research focused on YouTube, which appeared during the Kim Jong-Un period, and sought to derive propaganda’s intentions and goals by materializing North Korea’s message. Given that North Korea’s propaganda is a linear communication structure, message analysis is suitable for surfacing their intentions and perspectives through content. We chose thematic analysis and text mining-based analysis as analysis methodologies to proceed with cross-validation. The analysis shows that North Korea’s YouTube contents feature major themes of culture, industry, and nature. Pyongyang, which is modernized based on the leadership of Suryeong and the Workers’ Party of Korea, mainly appears in the same contents. In other words, the party/Suryeong and Pyongyang are locating on the YouTube expression base. It shows that the method and medium of messages for changing the perception of external audiences have changed, but there is no significant change in their foundation. Text mining-based analysis also emphasizes the “people” and “supreme leader” who leads them, suggesting that such expressions are basing on the traditional values of North Korea. To sum up, North Korea shows an intention to emphasize their superiority through YouTube, apparently due to the “Our State First” that emerged during the Kim Jong- Un period. The emphasis and expression of the “Our State First” on North Korea’s YouTube are consistent with the goals of Kim Jong-un’s achievement, and their propaganda will be further emphasized in the separation from reality.

Silk Amino Acids Improve Physical Stamina and Male Reproductive Function of Mice

<P>The effects of a silk amino acid (SAA) preparation on the physical stamina and male reproductive function of mice were investigated. Eight-week-old male ICR mice (29—31 g) were orally administered SAA (50, 160 or 500 mg/kg) for 44 d during 30-min daily swimming exercise. The mice were subjected to a weight-loaded (5% of body weight) forced swimming on the 14th, 28th and 42nd day to determine maximum swimming time, and after a 2-d recovery period (treated with SAA without swimming exercise), parameters related to fatigue and reproductive function were analyzed from blood, muscles and reproductive organs. Repeated swimming exercise increased the maximum swimming time to some extent, in spite of a marked reduction in body weight gain, and SAA further enhanced the stamina in a dose-dependent manner. Forced swimming exercises increased blood parameters of tissue injury, but depleted blood glucose and tissue glycogen, which were substantially prevented by SAA treatment. In addition, SAA significantly reduced the muscular thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances and blood corticosterone content increased by forced swimming. Swimming exercise decreased the blood testosterone level, which was recovered by SAA, leading to enhanced sperm counts. These combined results indicate that SAA not only enhances physical stamina by minimizing damage to tissues, including muscles, as well as preventing energy depletion caused by swimming stress, but also improves male reproductive function by increasing testosterone and sperm counts.</P>

노인 금연 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초연구 : 금연기대, 자기효능감, 인지기능평가 중심

Objective:This study aimed to investigate the smoking behavior and attitude about smoking cessation of elderly and to evaluate the effect of accessing cognitive function in order to develop the cessation program for elderly smokers. Methods:The participants were 108 enrolled from attending the cessation program of national non-smoking guide center. We examined the Smoking Cessation Motivation Scale, The Perceived Smoking Cessation Effects Scale (PSCES), Smoking selfefficacy/temptation, The Why test and Tobacco Craving Questionnaire. Cognitive status was ascertained by interviewing with geriatric neuropsychiatrist and comprehensive neurocognitive test battery. Results:The older group had lower negative effect score of PSCES (52.0±17.7, 61.3±16.6, p=0.006) and higher smoking self-efficacy score (29.4±7.2, 26.0±8.3, p=0.028) than younger group. 47.1% of older group and 12.3% of younger group were mild cognitive impairment (p<0.001). The success rate of smoking cessation after 12 weeks was 92.2% in older group and 91.2% in younger group (p=1.00). Conclusion:The results indicate that the smoking cessation of elderly is not so challenge otherwise known as. Although the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment in smokers was higher than the general population, cognitive assessment and feedback might be made of the high success rate of smoking cessation. Further attention should be paid to the elderly tailored smoking cessation program and long-term follow-up.

북중관계를 통해 본 정상회담의 연속성과 단절성: 뉴스 프레임 내용 분석을 중심으로

이 연구는 김정일, 김정은 시기 북한과 중국의 정상회담 개최에 연속성과 단절성이 있으며, 연속성은 북한의 대미접근에서, 단절성은 한중관계 개선에서 비롯된다고 주장한다. 중국의 제안으로 양 시기 첫 정상회담이 개최됨에 주목해, 중국이 인식하는 북중관계를 구체화함으로써 연구 주장을 입증하고자 했다. 인민일보에 대한 뉴스 프레임 분석 결과, 김정일 시기 전통적 친선관계 계승, 대북 무상원조 등의 긍정적 내용이 주를 이룬 반면, 김정은 시기 전략적 협력관계 강화, 북핵반대 등 중립적이거나 부정적 보도가 많이 나타나는 차이를 포착했다. 이와 같은 차이에도 양 시기 모두 ‘한국’과 ‘북한의 대미접근’이 북중정상회담의 중요 변수로 작동한다는 공통점을 발견했다. This paper argues that there is continuity and discontinuity between China and North Korea during the Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un periods. The former stems from North Korea's approach to the United States, and the latter emerges from improved China-South Korea relations. Since the suggestion of China holds the first summit in the two periods, we tried to prove the research argument by shaping the Sino-North Korean relationship recognized by China. As a result of News Framing Analysis on the People's Daily, we found positive content, such as the inheritance of traditionally friendly relations and free aid to North Korea during the Kim Jong-il period, while neutral or negative reports in Kim Jong-un period, like strengthening strategic cooperation and opposing North Korea. Despite these differences, we figured out something in common that "South Korea" and "North Korea's approach to the United States" work as essential variables for the Sino-North Korean summit in both periods.

Regulation of anoikis resistance by NADPH oxidase 4 and epidermal growth factor receptor

<P><B>Background:</B></P><P>Normal cells are sensitive to anoikis, which is a cell detachment-induced apoptosis. However, cancer cells acquire anoikis resistance that is essential for successful metastasis. This study aimed to demonstrate the function and potential mechanism of NADPH oxidase 4 (<I>NOX4</I>) and EGFR activation in regulating anoikis resistance in lung cancer.</P><P><B>Methods:</B></P><P>Cells were cultured either in the attached or suspended condition. Cell viability was measured by cell counting and live and dead cell staining. Expression levels of NOX4 and EGFR were measured by PCR and immunoblotting. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels were measured by flow cytometry. Effects of NOX4 overexpression or <I>NOX4</I> knockdown by si-NOX4 on anoikis sensitivity were explored. Levels of NOX4 and EGFR in lung cancer tissues were evaluated by IHC staining.</P><P><B>Results:</B></P><P>NOX4 was upregulated but EGFR decreased in suspended cells compared with attached cells. Accordingly, ROS levels were increased in suspended cells, resulting in the activation of Src and EGFR. <I>NOX4</I> knockdown decreased activation of Src and EGFR, and thus sensitised cells to anoikis. NOX4 overexpression increased EGFR levels and attenuated anoikis. NOX4 expression is upregulated and is positively correlated with EGFR levels in the lung cancer patient tissues.</P><P><B>Conclusions:</B></P><P>NOX4 upregulation confers anoikis resistance by ROS-mediated activation of EGFR and Src, and by maintaining EGFR levels, which is critical for cell survival.</P>

Practicing Christian Social Welfare of Persons with Disability according to Disability Paradigm Changes

성경은 장애와 장애인에 관하여 하나님의 이미지로서의 존엄성, 헌 신과 자비에 대한 예수의 가르침, 사회적 정의와 배려, 하나님의 뜻을 통한 치유와 회복, 그리고 가족과 공동체의 책임을 강조한다. 그러나 장애인 이동권을 주장하며 출근 시간 지하철에서 시위하는 전국장애인 차별철폐연대를 바라보는 한국 사회의 시선은 곱지만은 않다. 이는 한국 기독교 커뮤니티도 다르지 않다. 한국 기독교 공동체에는 장애를 자비와 전도의 대상으로 보는 것을 넘어 장애 자체를 성찰하는 장애 신학이 필요하다. 장애인을 위한 기독교 사회복지 실천에는 장애 패러 다임의 변화에 적응하는 것이 포함된다. 장애를 개념화하는 것은 크게 의학적 모델과 다양한 대조 모델로 분류될 수 있다. 장애 패러다임은 개인의 장애에만 초점을 맞춘 의료 모델에서 더 넓은 사회 및 환경 요인을 고려하는 사회적 모델로 전환되어 왔다. ICF 모델의 원칙, 반억 압 실천, 사랑, 연민, 정의라는 기독교 가치를 수용함으로써 기독교 사회복지는 긍정적인 변화를 위한 강력한 힘이 될 수 있으며, 인간의 완전한 포용, 존엄성 및 복지를 촉진할 수 있다. The Bible emphasizes the dignity of disabled people as God’s image, Jesus’ teachings on devotion and mercy, social justice and consideration, healing and restoration through God’s will, and the responsibility of family and community. However, Korean society’s view of the National Disability Discrimination Elimination Coalition, which protests on the subway during rush hour, advocating for the right to mobility for the disabled, is not positive. This is not different in the Korean Christian community. The Korean Christian community needs a theology of disability that goes beyond viewing people with disability as objects of mercy and evangelism and reflects on disability itself. Practicing Christian social welfare for persons with disabilities involves adapting to changes in the disability paradigm. Conceptualizing disability can be broadly categorized into medical models and various contrasting models. The disability paradigm has shifted from a medical model that focuses only on individual disabilities to a social model that considers broader social and environmental factors. By embracing the principles of the ICF model, anti-oppressive practices, and Christian values of love, compassion, and justice, Christian social welfare can be a powerful force for positive change, promoting full human inclusion, dignity, and well-being.

Light Controlled Optical Aharonov-Bohm Oscillations in a Single Quantum Ring

<P>We found that optical Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in a single GaAs/GaAlAs quantum ring can be controlled by excitation intensity. With a weak excitation intensity of 1.2 kW cm<SUP>-2</SUP>, the optical Aharonov-Bohm oscillation period of biexcitons was observed to be half that of excitons in accordance with the period expected for a two-exciton Wigner molecule. When the excitation intensity is increased by an order of magnitude (12 kW cm<SUP>-2</SUP>), a gradual deviation of the Wigner molecule condition occurs with decreased oscillation periods and diamagnetic coefficients for both excitons and biexcitons along with a spectral shift. These results suggest that the effective orbit radii and rim widths of electrons and holes in a single quantum ring can be modified by light intensity via photoexcited carriers, which are possibly trapped at interface defects resulting in a local electric field.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
