      • Chemical Composition and Phytoestrogen Analysis of Iranian Black Pomegranate Juice Concentrate and Seeds

        In this study, as preliminary research for the development of natural estrogen supplement the chemical properties of Iranian black pomegranate juice concentrate and seeds were evaluated. Proximate compositions of pomegranate juice concentrate and seeds were as follows; crude lipid 0.4% and 8.2%, moisture 39.9% and 6.6%, crude protein 0.9% and 12.2%, ash 1.4% and 1.7%, and carbohydrate 42.0% and 84.5% respectively. Major amino acids are glutamic acid (1310.0ppm) and aspartic acid (896.2ppm) in juice concentrate, and glycine (611.1ppm) and arginin (401.6ppm) in seeds. Ascorbic acid has the highest concentration of 20.0mg/l00g in juice concentrate and 0.23mg/l00 in seeds. The compositions of unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and linolenic acid were higher than those of saturated fatty acids such as stearic palmitic acid. Major minerals were potassium, calcium and sodium, potassium was highest in both juice concentrate and seeds. Vitamins were composed of ascorbic acid (20.0mg/l00g), vitamin B$_1$ 수식 이미지(0.12mg/100g) and niacin (0.80mg/l00g) in juice concentrate, and only ascorbic acid(0.23mg/l00g) in seeds. Organic acids such as citric and L-malic acid were detected only in pomegranate juice concentrate. The contents of total polyphenols were 4.55g/L in juice concentrate and 3.5mg/l00g in seeds, respectively. Phytoestrogens detected in pomegranate juice concentrate and seeds were daidzein, quercetin, genistein and 17β-estradiol.

      • 염소를 포함한 액체에서의 금박막 패터닝과 표면 분석

        금박막은 높은 전도성의 화학적인 안정성을 가지고 있으므로 GaAs를 기판으로 한 bevice에서 널리 쓰이고 있으며 SAM(Self-Assembled Monolayer), Nanolithography 등에서도 아주 주요하게 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 염소가 포함된 액체에 금박막이 접해있고 UV를 조사하여 식각이 되는 것을 발견하고 연구하였다. 노광량을 조절하여 금박막의 기각률을 조절할수 있으며, 또한 가모강제 공정을 거치지 않고 금박막에 직접 조사하게 되므로 간단하게 패터닝을 할수 있다. AFM(atomic force microscope), optical microscope, ellipsometry 를 이용하여 식각률 측정 및 표면 변화를 보았다. Various metals or their alloys are used in the semiconductor metallization process or in micro-or nano-structure devices. We report a novel etching technique of gold film based on new phenomenon that gold is soluble in chlorine containing solutions or solvents under UV irradiation. Mask patterns can be transferred to gold surface directly without resorting to complicate photoresist process. And, etch rate could be controlled from sub nanometer to few tens of nanometers per minute by adjusting exposure parameters. Moreover, non-toxic liquid such as NaCl solution can be used for the process. AFM(atomic force microscope), optical microscope, ellipsometry were used to characterize the etch rate and the surface morphology.

      • 감마선과 Methyl Bromide 처리가 사과의 생리화학적 품질에 미치는 영향

        감마선(0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3 kGy) 조사와 methyl bromide(MeBr, 26 g/㎏, 4hr) 훈증 및 이들의 처리시기가 사과의 생리화학적 품질특성에 영향을 비교하여, 검역처리를 위한 ◁그림 삽입▷ (원문을 참조하세요) 감마선 조사의 응용성을 검토하였다. 감마선과 MeBr 처리에 따른 사과의 생리화학적 품질평가에서 2kGy 이상의 감마선 조사와 MeBr 훈증은 사과의 일부 생리화학적 품질특성의 변화를 촉진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 감마선과 MeBr의 처리시기별로는 수확 직후보다는 저온(0℃)에서 40일 정도 보관 후 처리한 대체적으로 품질손상이 적은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 1kGy 이하의 감마선 조사와 지연조사는 사과 과실의 품질을 비교적 양호한 상태로 유지할 수 있어 검역처리 기술로 활용성이 있는 것으로 생각된다. 'Fuji' apples were treated by gamma irradiation (0∼3 kGy) or methyl bromide fumigation at commercial conditions (MeBr, 25 g/㎏, 4 hr) for quarantine purpose at two different treatment timing after harvest and stored under air a 0℃ for 4 months. Associated with the treatment timing of irradiation or fumigation, after 40 days of storage at 0℃ following harvest was more adequate than immediately after harvest in keeping qualities of stored apples. However, more than 2 kGy irradiation and MeBr fumigation were detrimental to physiological and chemical qualities of the fruits. These results show that less than 1 kGy irradiation at the delayed timing has a possibility to be applied as a quarantine procedure without significant changes in the quality of apples.

        Antiobesity and Cholesterol-Lowering Effects of Bifidobacteria animalis DY-64 in Rats Fed a High-Fat/High-Cholesterol Diet

        The present study was carried out to investigate the antiobesity and hypocholesterolemic effects of Bifidobacteria animalis DY-64 (B. animalis DY-64), a lactic acid bacterium isolated from the human intestine, in rats fed a high-fat/high-cholesterol diet for 4 weeks. Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups and fed either a normal (N) or highfat/ high-cholesterol (HFC) diet without or with oral administration of B. animalis DY-64 (N-BA, HFC-BA). The gain in body weight, and liver and adipose tissue weights of the HFC group were heavier than that of the HFC-BA group. Serum total cholesterol (TC), LDL-cholesterol, and leptin levels of the HFC group, which were significantly elevated compared to those of the N group, dropped by 19, 18, 21, and 13% in the HFC-BA group, respectively, whereas the serum HDL-cholesterol level markedly increased. However, serum TG, LDL-cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, and leptin levels were not significantly different among the N groups (N, N-BA) with or without B. animalis DY-64 administration. TC and TG levels of the liver as well as the TG level of the adipose tissue were significantly reduced in the HFC-BA group. In addition, HR-LPL activity in adipose tissue was also lower in the HFC-BA group than in the HFC group. These results suggest that B. animalis DY-64 isolated from the human intestine exerts hypocholesterolemic effects by reducing serum and liver cholesterol levels and plays a role in the prevention of obesity induced by HFC diet.

        교육과정과 교과서의 “연계성”과 “계속성”에 관한 연구 -중학교 <생활 국어>를 중심으로-

        A curriculum, as the national educational plan, is reflected in a textbook, and a teacher can achieve the goal of curriculum through the textbook. A Well-organized curriculum not only helps a teacher as a reader look the outline, survey the learning process and make a class plan directly, but also presents a student the appropriate contents fitting to his development, which can lead a student to the direction ultimately where the textbook intends to do. I studied how well the curriculum of the area of the knowledge about the Korean Language in the 7th Korean Language Curriculum was reflected in <Everyday Korean> textbook for the middle school student. I studied and applied the “articulation and continuity” which are main principles of the curriculum to the contents of textbook and teacher`s guidebook. But the curriculum of the area of the knowledge about the Korean Language didn`t reflect the “articulation and continuity”. I examined the articulation especially in the vocabulary an meaning which come under “the comprehension and study of the Korean language” in the area of the Knowledge about the Korean Language. However I found that the process of each semester and each school year was not articulated well. So I doubted that the curriculum has been made without regard to interrelation of each field. Also I studied the continuity from the point of view whether there was a category of area of the knowledge about the Korean Language in the textbook of each school year. I found, however, that the continuity was not reflected well in the curriculum either, because the contents of curriculum didn`t show repeatedly in the textbook of each school year. We should organize the curriculum according to the principles of the curriculum, and should reflect these principles in the textbook in order to teach a student the area of the knowledge about the Korean Language effectively.

        중학교 교과서 국어 지식 영역의 연계성 연구

        Purpose: articulation is defined as appropriate relation between the educational contents of each grade or school. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the articulation between the contents of the textbook of the Korean language of the 7th curricula in the middle school. Materials and Methods: The materials in this study were the Korean language textbooks and teacher`s guidebook of 1st to 3rd graders of the middle school. For the analysis of articulation of the textbook contents, knowledge areas of the Korean language were divided into four criteria; 1) the essence of the Korean language, 2) understanding and exploring Korean language, 3) attitude, 4) rules and applications. Flow charts were created for the analysis of the articulation in the contents of the above criteria. To facilitate visual understanding, articulation maps were created on the basis of the flow charts. The degree of the articulation was presented as the common area between the educational contents on the articulation map. Results: The best articulation of the contents within the grade and between the grades was observed in the phonology section in the criterion of the understanding and research of the Korean language. In the criterion of the attitude toward the Korean language, the articulation between the contents of each grade was excellent. However, intragrade articulation was not adequate because classification of the contents in the 6th chapter of the 1st semester of the 9th grader was (the differences between the language in the South and North Korea) not appropriate. The worst intragrade and intergrade articulation in the contents was observed in the section of vocabulary and meaning in the criterion of understanding and exploring the Korean language. Conclusions: The degree of articulation in the contents of the area of knowledge of the Korean language textbooks of the middle school in the 7th curricula varied.

        In this study, it was investigated by comparing the experimental hemming by the 3 steps and 2 steps in order to stabilize the quality of the hemming process. In the experimental results, the three-step hemming superior to the two-step one and the dimensional stability of part that was made by the three-step on was high. When the second stage Hemming has been found that the deflection caused by the force to the wear of the punch becomes larger plane can be folded by the hemming crimping and crimp uncertain.

        The Effectiveness of Acupuncture for Herpes Zoster: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

        Herpes zoster (HZ) results from the reactivation of a varicella-zoster virus infection and is accompanied by moderate-to-severe pain in most patients. The most common treatment is medication; however, there are still limitations. Acupuncture reportedly has meaningful therapeutic effects and is a possible alternative option in HZ. However, no systematic reviews examining the use of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture (EA) alone have been published; in this study, we therefore aimed to systematically review those techniques. We searched for clinical trials of acupuncture and EA treatment for HZ up to October 2022. Trials that used acupuncture were included. Outcomes were visual analog scale (VAS) and effective rate. Secondary outcomes were time to pain relief, time to pain elimination, incrustation, decrustation, lastly incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). In total, 22 randomized controlled trials were included in this research. Compared with conventional medication therapy, acupuncture was associated with a significant improvement in VAS, effective rate, and times to pain relief and elimination. Times to new blister cessation, incrustation, and decrustation (days) were significantly improved. Furthermore, the incidence rate of PHN was lower in acupuncture groups. The results suggest that acupuncture could be a reasonable treatment option for patients with HZ who suffer from pain and accompanying symptoms.

        Impact of NAD(P)H:Quinone Oxidoreductase-1 on Pigmentation

        We obtained metastasized melanoma tissue from a primary acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) patient and established a melanoma cell line named primary culture of melanoma cell derived from lymph node (PML)-1. PML-1 cells had a light brown color and decreased the expression of melanogenesis markers, including tyrosinase (TYR), microphthalmia-associated transcription factor, and tyrosinase-related protein-1. To identify genes differentially regulated in PML-1 melanoma cells, we performed DNA microarray and two-dimensional matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry analyses. Among the candidate genes identified, we chose NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase-1 (NQO1) for further study. Reverse transcription–PCR and western blot analyses showed that NQO1 was markedly decreased in PML-1 cells and in several amelanotic melanoma cell lines. To investigate whether NQO1 affects the melanogenesis, we treated the cultured normal human melanocytes (NHMC) and zebrafish with NQO1 inhibitors, ES936 and dicoumarol. Interestingly, melanogenesis was significantly decreased by the addition of NQO1 inhibitors in both NHMC and zebrafish models. In contrast, overexpression of NQO1 using a recombinant adenovirus clearly induced melanogenesis, concomitantly with an increase of TYR protein level. These results suggest that NQO1 is a positive regulator of the pigmentation process.
