        Pancreatic cystadenoma is very rare, slow growing tumor and generally preoperative differential diagnosis may be difficult. A 43-year-old female was admitted to our hospital with the complaint of abdominal discomfort in the epigastrium for about preceeding 5 years. Ultrasonography and Computed tomography were performed. When endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatogram was performed, displacement of distal pancreatic duct by huge mass was noted and injected dye was drained irregulary into the cavity of mass. Distal pancreatectomy was performed with splenectomy. The mass size of distal pancreas was 7X4cm, and the cyst contained with yellowish thick mucoid fluid. Diagnosis was confirmed the mutinous cystadenoma of the pancreas on histologic examination.

        特用資源植物의 硏究 : 한국임학회지에 게재된 논문을 중심으로 Based on the Articles Published in the Journal of Korean Forestry

        한국임학회지 (1962년의 1호~2002년의 91권 6호)에 게재된 특용자원식물 관련 논문에서 식·음용식물, 약용식물, 사료식물, 조경식물, 섬유식물, 산업용식물 및 밀원식물로 분류하고 그 내용에 따라 입지환경, 생태, 생리, 번식, 조림(또는 무육, 재배), 유전·육종, 분류(또는 식별), 병·충해와 방제, 동물피해와 방제, 성분분석, 식생정보, 생물공학, 경영·경제 및 총설로 나누었다. 총 1,434편의 발표 논문 중 유용식물자원을 대상으로 한 논문은 27.6%를 차지하는 396편이었고, 내용은 식생정보 60편(15.2%), 생리 56편(14.1%), 유전·육종 56편(14.1%), 번식 53편(13.4%) 및 생태 37편(9.3%)이었다. 조림(무육·재배)은 11편(2.8%)으로 특용자원식물의 규모경영이 이루어지지 않고 있음을 시사하고 있으며, 이것은 경영·경제 분야가 6편(1.5%)인 것과 맥을 같이 하고 있었다. 연구대상 식물은 잣나무(42편), 아까시나무(23편), 밤나무(14편) 및 은행나무(14편) 순으로 높았고, 이 식물들과 관련한 연구내용은 번식, 생리, 유전·육종, 생태 및 병·충해 순이었다. 연구의 목적, 내용, 결과 및 대상식물 등을 고려하여 보면, 1) 초본식물에 대한 보다 많은 연구, 2) 타산업 또는 학분 분야와의 공동연구, 3) 자원 보전적 연구 및 4) 연구주체자 간의 연구결과의 공유 등이 매우 요망된다. The articles, published in the Journal of Korean Forestry from Number 1(1962) to number 6, Volume 91(2002), were surveyed and investigated for the research trend analysis about resource-plants for special use or purpose, i.e edible plants, medicinal plants, feed resource, landscape plants, fiber plants, industrial usage, and bee plants. If the purpose or subject matter of the research was construction or furniture timber production, mushrooms and/or pulp and Paper, such research was not included in this study. These articles were classified again depending on the content of research into 14 categories : habitat environment, ecology, physiology, propagation, silviculture(tending and culture), genetics and breeding, identification, insect and disease control, animal-related research, cemponent analysis, vegetation survey, biotechnology, management, and review. Among the total 1,434 articles published, 396 ones (27,6%) were related with plants for special use or purpose. Vegetation survey was 60(15.2%) ; physiology 56(04.1%) ; genetics and breeding 56(14.1%) ; propagation 53(13.4%) ; and ecology 37(9.3%). Siviculture research field included 11 articles (2.8%), which indicates that the management of resource-plants is to far from economic income as seen in the low number of management research filed articles, i. e., only 6 reports(1.5%). Korean white Pine was most popular for research and included 42 articles ; Robinia pseudoacacia 23 Castanea crenata 14 : and ginkgo tree 14, Research related with these species had focused mainly or propagation, physiotogy, genetics and breeding, ecology and pest control. Based on this survey and analysis, the followings are suggested : 1. More research is required on forest herbaceous plants. 2. Cooperative research work with other industrial and/or scientific area is recommendable for commercialization including medicine, cosmetics, and food etc. 3. Research resource-plant conservation. which includes biology, social education and policy, should be supported for next generation. 4. Mutual correspondence and information exchange about the research results between researchers and institutes is more necessary than now.

      • LPE법으로 작성한 산화물초전도체 Bi₂Sr₂-Ca₁+Cu₂ 막(films) 의 초전도특성

        LPE(Liquid press epitaxy)법을 이용하여, Sr과 Ca가 서로 상호 치환된 산화물초전도체 Bi₂Sr₂??Ca₁+x??Cu₂O??(x?=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6) 막(film)을 작성하여 상호치환 상태와 초전도특성과의 관계를 알아보았다. 작성한 막(film)의 조성비은 융액조성비(x?)와 막(film)속의 조성비(x?)가 비례함을 알 수 있었고, c-축으로 강하게 배향된전형적인 Bi2212상의 단일상(singe-phase)을 보였다. 치환량 x?의 증가에 따라, 임계온도 T??, c-축의 길이, carrier농도 등은 단조로이 감소하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. We investigated the superconductivity of Bi₂Sr₂_Ca₁+x?Cu₂O?+?x?=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6) films by liquid phase epitaxial method. X-ray diffraction measurements revealed that films were predominantly oriented with the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate surfaces. The zero-resistance temperature and the lattice parameter c linearly decreased with the increase of x?, corresponding to the decrease of the carrier concentration.

      • 통행분포기법의 적용과 평가에 관한 연구

        This study has an object of searching for appropriateness in applying the trip distribution model by studying the changes of the character of parameter which the model contains and by analyzing and evaluating trip distribution technique out of four steps of pre-estimate technique for the traffic demand through computer simulation centering around Kwangju. Method of this study is investigating the basic theory for trip distribution model and with this grounding, I rearranged it as research data for trip distribution model compatible for Kwangju, using data such as research data on actual state, the statistics annual report and basic plan for traffic full equipment of Kwangju. So, The most stable measure of the type of trip distribution of Kwangju city was produced in Fratar and Detroit model, however, gravity model has a little bit low reliance in sharing of estimation and actual survey although it is astringent in short period.

        Characterization of Angiogenesis Inhibitor Effect of Green Tea Seed Extract

        Green tea seed was extracted with absolute ethanol,and the green tea seed extract(GTSE)was subjected to assays for toxicity, antioxidant ability, angiogenesis inhibitory effects and cell adhesion, as well as western blotting, and an in vivo experiment against 4 high-ranking adult cancers in Korea. Our series of experimental data demonstrated that GTSE has an antioxidant ability superior to that of EGCG in the green tea leaf, and also exhibits a profound high tumor growth inhibitory activity on a variety of cancer cell lines, as well as nude mice infected with cancer cells. GTSE was identified as a natural anticancer compound showing excellent angiogenesis inhibition and cancer cell suppression abilities. Our preliminary observations also indicate that GTSE may be another potential source of natural dietary antioxidants and also may be applicable as a novel natural anticancer agent.

        Fermentation-Mediated Enhancement of Ginseng’s Anti-Allergic Activity against IgE-Mediated Passive Cutaneous Anaphylaxis In Vivo and In Vitro

        Ginseng (the root of Panax ginseng Meyer) fermented by Lactobacillus plantarum has been found to attenuate allergic responses in in vitro and in vivo experimental models. Ginseng has been reported to also possess various biological functions including anti-inflammatory activity. The present study was aimed at comparing the anti-allergic effect of ginseng and fermented ginseng extracts on IgE-mediated passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in vitro in a murine cell line and in vivo in mice. Fermented ginseng extract (FPG) showed higher inhibitory effect against in vitro and in vivo allergic responses when compared with ginseng extract (PG). The secretion of β-hexosaminidase and interleukin (IL)-4 from the IgE-DNP-stimulated RBH-2H3 mast cells were significantly (p < 0.05) inhibited by FPG treatment, and this effect was concentration-dependent. Further, MKK4 activation and subsequent JNK phosphorylation were attenuated by FPG treatment. The inhibitory effect of FPG on the in vitro allergic response was verified in vivo against IgE-DNP-induced passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in a mouse model. These data indicated that the fermentation of ginseng with L. plantarum enhanced its anti-allergic effects both in vitro and in vivo. We predict that compositional changes in the ginsenosides caused by the fermentation may contribute to the change in the anti-allergic effects of ginseng. The results of our study highlight the potential of the use of FPG as a potential anti-allergic agent.

      • Clinical course of patients who developed tuberculosis (TB) after receiving tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α inhibitors

        Background: The uses of the tumor necrosis factor- α inhibitors increase the risk of developing TB. However, there is limited information about the clinical outcomes of active TB followed by TNF inhibitors and the appropriateness of TNF inhibitors readministration. Thus, we analyzed the clinical characteristics and treatment response of patients who developed TB after treating TNF inhibitors. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all patients diagnosed with active TB after receiving TNF inhibitor from January 2001 through August 2015 at two academic hospitals in Korea. Outcomes were assessed via the medical records, bacteriological and radiologic findings and the response to anti-TB treatment. Results: 23 patients(1.4%) developed TB during a median of 316 days of TNF inhibitors. The LTBI screening was performed in all 23 patients and LTBI was diagnosed in 4 patients. In these patients, TB disease occurred even after LTBI treatment. Favorable course were showed in 21(91%) of 23 patients after administering first-line anti-TB medication, although 2 patients developed MDR TB. The 10 patients were retreated with TNF inhibitors: 6 patients were restarted during anti-TB treatment and the other 4 patients were reinitiated after completion of anti-TB medication. No TB recurrence was reported in the patients of resuming TNF inhibitors during a median follow-up of 26 months. Conclusions: We suggest that more specific protocol for diagnosis of LTBI and TB is required before and during TNF inhibitors. And recommencing TNF inhibitors may be considered and safe during the anti-TB medication

        Guillain-Barre syndrome after generalized tetanus infection

        Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is an auto-immune disease of peripheral nerve system. It occurs mainly after preceding infection such as upper respiratory or gastrointestinal infection and other antecedent events as tetanus vaccinations. However, any case of GBS after tetanus infection has not been reported. Recently, when analyzed the clinical aspects of 13 tetanus patients including ours, 2 GBS occurred after tetanus infection. We report the neurological and electrophysiologic findings of two cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome after generalized tetanus.

      • PHIL 시뮬레이터의 스위칭 주파수에 의한 전류 맥동 분석

        PHIL(Power Hardware-In-the-Loop) 시뮬레이터는 실제 전동기 특성을 구현하여 인버터를 포함한 전동기 제어 시스템을 검증 및 평가할 수 있는 장치이다. PHIL 시뮬레이터는 정확한 시뮬레이션을 위해 DUT(Device Under Test) 대비 높은 스위칭 주파수가 요구된다. 그렇지 못할 경우, PHIL 시뮬레이터와 DUT의 스위칭 주파수에 의해 발생 되는 고조파 성분들이 중첩되어 맥놀이 현상을 일으킨다. 맥놀이 주파수는 전류 맥동의 원인이며, 두 시스템의 제어기에 외란으로 작용하여 시뮬레이션의 정확성을 떨어뜨리는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 PHIL 시뮬레이터의 스위칭 주파수에 따라 나타나는 전류 맥동과 발생할 수 있는 문제점에 대해 분석하였다.
