Indian poets such as Gandhi, Tagore, Naidu, Nehru and more influenced in the development of modern Korean poetry in two contradictory ways. First of all, Koreans were initially interested in the above mentioned poets in that they were most admired in the West. It is obvious that Koreans were strongly conscious that these political (or religious) poets were the Orientals recognized and praised by Westerns. In a certain way, it is implied that Koreans highly regarded Western perspective and modernity. On the other hand, it is noticeable that most of the eminent figures in India were against modernization and civilization. Not only did they reject to be confined to Western modernity but also unreservedly pictured the East in opposition to Western civilization and modernization. They indeed regained self-esteem and respect as Orientals. Nonetheless, it cannot be ignored that discourse on the Orient was central to Japanese imperialism and colonial ideologies. In fact, the Japanese colonization of Korea was once justified in the name of the Oriental identity. While discourse on the Orient in India suggested the possibilities of post-colonization with post-modernization and post-civilization, the discourse in Korea was deeply imbued with Japanese colonial ideologies which were regarded as the Oriental representative of modern civilization. In other words, discourse on the Orient in Korea was not incompatible with the ideologies of Western modernization. However, under the influence of Indian poets in the 1920s, Koreans were challenged to reconsider Western modernization. A controversy over translating Tagore`s poems in English into Korean was exemplary in case. What was at issue in translating Tagore`s poetry was its religious implication. Especially, how to translate ``thou`` in the English version of 『Gitanjali』 into Korean was debated. Oh Cheonseok translated ``thou`` as ``you`` indicating a lover. In doing so, the poem was more likely to be romantic than religious. In contrast, Kim Uk distinguishably understood it as ``God/Lord/Jesus`` to underline the religious implication of the poem. However, after translating all three volumes of Tagore`s poems, Kim stressed that characteristically there was no difference between ``thou`` and ``you`` in terms of an Oriental sensibility. He thus argued that Oh`s word ``you`` was equivalent to his word ``God/Lord/Jesus`` as Han Youngun`s ``Nim(you)`` was variously conceptualized as a lover, nation, Buddha, and more. From the concept of ``Nim,`` rather, Oriental characteristics such as the unity of literature and religion and the deconstruction of poetic subject into oneness with ``Nim`` have been distinguished as those of modern poetry. This is to say that the elementary model of ``traditional`` lyric poetry came to be complete. Also, it is what differs the development of modern Korean poems from that of modern Korean novels which aimed at the settlement of Western novels` style. Moreover, the narrative on ``the loss and recovery of Nim`` took root in Korea, and the Renaissance of the nation identified with Nim was established as ideology. Since the modern era, a notion to incorporate ``before the era`` and ``after the era`` has been diffused in a great degree. ``Before the modern era`` (pre-modernity) was much studied as ``an original storage`` to appreciate the potentials of ``after the modern era``(post-modernity). In the end, it partly resulted in the rediscovery of ``Shilla`` in the 1930s.

Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is a rare neoplasm that arises from the mesothelium of a serosal cavity and is a rapidly fatal disease with a median survival of 4 to 12 months for untreated cases. Recently, we experienced a case with malignant peritoneal mesothelioma who was suspected hepatocelluar carcioma by abdominal CT scan and was confirmed by biopsy including immunohistochemical stain(calretinin) after surgery. We performed tumor excisions and wedge resection of the liver(segment Ⅷ)and inserted Tencoff catheter in abdominal cavity at 25th day of post-operation. We treated with intraperitoneal paclitaxel(25mg/m^(2)/day for 5 days) six courses monthly. She was well tolerable and is still living without any evidence of recurrence for 14th month of post-operation.
상태관측기를 이용한 영구자석 동기전동기의 센서리스 속도제어

Sensorless PMSM is much studied for the industrial applications and home appliances because a mechanical sensor reduces reliability and increases cost. This paper investigates a field oriented control method without speed and rotor position sensor using the state observer. The observer is based on the model of the motor represented in the stationary two-axes coordinates. The control strategy is to estimate back-EMF by the state observer and to estimate the rotor speed and the rotor position angle from the estimated back-EMF. And we construct back-EMF constant compensator to compensate estimated speed error due to detuned electrical parameter. The observer is tested by simulation and experiment. The results show that the observer gives a good estimation of speed and rotor position, compensated parameter constants. The simulation and experimental results indicate good performances.
진화전략과 상태 관측기에 의한 영구자석 동기전동기의 센서리스 속도제어기 설계에 관한 연구

Permanent magnet synchronous motor is widely applied for the industrial and home appliance because of it`s high power density and easy control. Recently sensorless speed control of PMSM is much studied because a mechanical sensor reduces reliability and increases cost. This paper investigates sensorless controller design of PMSM. Angular speed and position are estimated with observer. In order to reduce variation effect of mechanical parameters and calculation delay, reduced order state observer is designed with electrical parameters. Evolution strategy is used to optimize controller gains and observer eigenvalue. In the sensorless control of PMSM with state observer, eigenvalue affect stability and dynamic response of system,. The simulation and experimental results indicate good performances.

회전기기의 설계에 있어서 전기자에서 온도 상승의 계산은 가장 중요한 문제의 하나로 인식되어 왔다. 제시된 많은 온도상승 계산방법에도 불구하고 실제 설계에 사용되는 예는 드물다. 대부분의 경우 이들 방법은 기기의 복잡한 내부 구조 때문에 넓은 범위의 온도 분포를 측정하기에 부적절하다. 본 논문에서, 전기자를 7부분으로 나누어 열 등가회로를 구성하여 시뮬레이션 하였다. 실험은 열전대를 설치한 돌극형 동기발전기로 행하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 실제 측정한 온도분포와 잘 부합됨을 알 수 있었다. The calculations of the temperature rise in the armature have long been considered among some of the most important problems in the design of the rotating machine. Despite the many methods of calculation of temperature rise proposed, very few have been used in the actual design. In most cases, these methods are inadequate for measuring a wide range of temperature distribution because of the complicated structure of the machine. In this paper, the armature is divided into seven portions, and the thermal equivalent circuit is introduced as a simulation of the armature. The experiment is performed on the salient-pole type synchronous generator with he armature in which the thermocouples were installed. The simulation results are verified by estimated temperature distribution.
법랑모세포 분화와 법랑질 형성과정에서 OD314, Apin protein의 발현 및 기능

본 연구에서는 법랑모세포 분화와 법랑질 형성에 연관이 있는 OD314 일명 Apin protein의 기능을 밝힐 목적으로, in-situ hybridization에 의한 OD314 mRNA 발현과 법랑모세포 세포주에서 OD314 enamel matrix protein의 발현, 그리고 OD314 유전자를 과발현/억제시킬 수 있는 construct를 제작한 후 법랑질 형성 중에 OD314의 기능을 알아보고자 RT-PCR를 시행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. OD314 mRNA는 발생중인 상아모세포보다 법랑모세포에서 강하게 발현되었다. 2. Tuftelin은 석회화 결정이 형성되는 14일까지 발현이 지속되고, 그 이후부터 점차 감소하였다. Amelogenin과enamelin은 7일부터 그 발현이 점점 감소하였다. 3. U6-OD314 siRNA construct를 이용하여 transfection한 법랑모세포 세포주는 OD314와 tuftelin,MMP2 mRNA 발현이 감소하였으며, CM-OD314를 transfection하여 OD314의 과발현을 유도한 경우에는 OD314와 MMP20 mRNA의 발현이 뚜렷이 증대되었다. 이 결과는 OD314가 법랑모세포의 분화와 법랑질의 형성 그리고 석회화 과정에 중요한 역할을 하는 새로운 인자임을 시사한다. This study was aimed to elucidate the biological function of OD314 (Apin protein), which is related to ameloblast differentiation and amelogenesis. Apin protein, calcifying epithelial odontogenic (pindborg) tumors (CEOTs)-associated amyloid, were isolated from CEOTs, and has similar nucleotide sequences to OD314. We examined expression of the OD314 mRNA using in-situ hybridization during tooth development in mice. Expression of OD314 and several enamel matrix proteins were examined in the cultured ameloblast cell line up to 28 days by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) amplification. After inactivation and over-expression of the OD314 gene in ameloblast cell lines using U6 vector-driven RNA interference and CMV-OD314 construct, RT-PCR were performed to evaluate the effect of the OD314 during amelogenesis. The results were as follows: 1. In in-situ hybridization, OD314 mRNAs were more strongly expressed in ameloblast than odontoblast. 2. When ameloblast cells were cultured in the differentiation and mineralization medium for 28 days, the tuftelin mRNA expression was maintained from the beginning to day 14, and then gradually decreased to day 28. The expressions of amelogenin and enamelin were gradually decreased according to the ameloblast differentiation. 3. Inactivation of OD314 by U6-OD314 siRNA construct down-regulated the expression of OD314, MMP-20, and tuftelin, whereas over-expression of OD314 by CMV-OD314 construct up-regulated the expression of OD314 and MMP-20 without change in tuftelin. These results suggest that OD314 is considered as an ameloblast-enriched gene and may play the important roles in ameloblast differentiation and mineralization.

Bucillamine is a novel cysteine derivative with two free intramolecular sulfhydryl groups, and has a preventive and therapeutic effect on adjuvant arthritis, suggesting its antirheumatic action. With respect to the effect on the immune system, bucillamine-exerted such immunoregulating actions are to nomalize an excessive reduction or acceleration in immune reaction. It is useful not only in patients with early stage of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) but also in those with active RA retained for more than 10 years. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two bucillamine tablets, Rimatil^TM (Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) and Bucilin^TM (Kuhn Il Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Eighteen normal male volunteers. 23.67±2.09 years in age and 65.03±6.73㎏ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized 2×2 cross-over study was employed. After three tablets containing 100㎎ of bucillamine per tablet were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of bucillamine in serum were determined using GC/MS with mass selective detector. Pharmacokinetic parameters such as AUC_t, C_max and T_max were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters. The results showed that the differences in AUC_t, C_mex and T_max between two tablets were -0.29%, -3.20% and 8.22%, respectively, when calculated against the Rimatil^TM tablet. The powers (1-β) for AUC_t and C_max were 84.31% and 91.16%, respectively. Minimum detectable differences (Δ) at α=0.10 and 1-β=0.8 were less than 20% (e.g., 18.58% and 16.51% for AUC_t and C_max, respectively). The 90% confidence intervals were within ±20% (e.g., -12.77∼12.20 for AUC_t and -14.30∼7.90 for C_max). Two parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that Bucilin^TM tablet is bioequivalent to Rimatil^TM tablet.

Actinomycosis is an uncommon chronic suppurative disease characterized by multiple abscess, draining sinuses, abundant granulation, and dense fibrous tissue, caused by the actinomyces organisms. It occurs in three major sites: cervicofacial, abdominal, and thoracic. The abdomen is the second most common involved site in previous studies, and there are three ways this organism can affect the gastrointestinal tract: through a blood-borne infection, by swallowing, or by proliferation at a more distal intestinal area. Abdominal actinomycosis is an unusual disease but remains an important differential diagnosis in patients with abdominal mass. Obtaining the diagnosis is difficult and rarely made preoperatively, but provide the key to its management. Medical therapy is effetive in eradicating the disease; however, because of the large amount of reactive fibrosis formed by the infection, it requires long-term therapy. Surgical treatment may be essential in many cases, primarily when malignancy cannot be excluded or if extensive necrotic tissue exists. There are a few description for actinomycosis involving omentum. We report a case of patient with omental actinomycosis, suspected to have a malignancy requiring an exploratory laparotomy with resection.

아미노산과 7炭糖溶液을 121℃에서 15분간 열처리하였을 때 Maillard 反應의 發色强度를 비교한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 아미노산은 종류에 따라 갈변화 현상의 강도가 높은 것, 중간 것 및 낮은 것으로 대별되었다. 2. Ketose인 L-sorbose와 D-fructose가 aldose인 D-galactose, D-mannose 및 D-glucose 보다 갈변화현상이 높게 나타났다. 3. 반응액의 pH가 높아질 수록 반응성은 증가되었다. 4. D-glucose 및 D-fructose의 농도가 증가될 수록 반응성은 증가되었다. Common amino acids and hexoses have been ranked according to the intensity of Maillard Browning formed when heated in an autoclave for 15min, at 121℃. The results obtained as follows : 1. The amino acid compounds have been grouped into high, intermediate and low browning groups. 2. L-sorbose and D-fructose of ketose form showed higher velocity in this reaction than D-galactose, D-manose and D-glucose of aldose form. 3. As the pH values of reaction solutions increased, the color intensities of Maillard reaction increased. 4. As the concentrations of D-glucose and D-fructose increased, the color intensities of Maillard reaction increased.

ABSTRACT Blue devil (Pomacentrus caeruleus, also called Chrysiptera cyanea) is widespread in the Indo-Pacific Ocean and very popular all over the world as an aquarium fish because it is so easy to keep in a marine aquarium. However, tank-breeding techniques are not completely known. In this study, we reared blue devil and investigated its spawning ecology, as a necessary precursor for successful artificial-tank breeding. We investigated the spawning volume according to time with two types of calendars: solar and lunar. Rearing conditions were set at 30 ppt salinity, 27℃ water temperature, in two aquariums with water volumes of 80 and 125 L. We successfully bred P. caeruleus in this artificial-tank system. The aquarium fish formed a spawning harem with one male and more than two females. We harvested about 113,580 eggs in 44 spawning episodes by two spawning harems during the 11-month period from December to October. They showed a peak season of spawning volume and time in May and June. We confirmed the two peak points in spawning volumes and times, which coincided with the first quarter and last (third) quarter of the lunar phases of the moon.
