Acetone molecular tagging velocimetry (MTV) was studied in a mini-jet configuration. Radial profile of the axial velocity at 2 ㎜ duct outlet is measured using acetone MTV. For the measurement, acetone is seeded into the flow, and a pulsed ArF (λ = 193 ㎚) excimer laser photodissociates the acetone along a narrow line. The excimer laser "tag" a line that is deficient in acetone and the line is "read" by planar laser fluorescence (PLIF) imaging of acetone using the frequency-doubled dye laser for excitation. This line is convected with the flow, and its displacement is measured from a pair of PLIF images acquired with different delay times between the excimer and dye lasers. The axial velocity is extracted from the cross correlation of the two PLIF images.
