Quantum-Structure-Dependent Excitonic Carrier Dynamics of InxGa1-xN/GaN Multi-Quantum-Wells

The excitonic carrier dynamics taking place in In$_x$Ga$_{1-x}$N/GaN multi-quantum-well systems have been studied by using low temperature picosecond-time-resolved photoluminescence (LT-TRPL), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Dynamic time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), and quantum mechanical simulation methods. Both time-integrated and time-resolved photoluminescence spectra of In$_x$Ga$_{1-x}$N/GaN multi-quantum-wells with different well thicknesses and indium compositions were measured at 10 K. We assigned the natural radiative lifetime of each sample from the time-resolved PL. We observed that the natural radiative lifetime of In In$_x$Ga$_{1-x}$N/GaN multi-quantum-wells depended strongly on the well thickness and the indium composition. To support the measured natural radiative lifetimes, we calculated the excitonic oscillator strengths of the In$_x$Ga$_{1-x}$N/GaN multi-quantum-wells as functions of well thickness and indium composition by using a 2-D particle-in-a-box model. Values of the well thicknesses and indium compositions from the HR-TEM and XPS compositional depth profiling were used to achieve more realistic computational results and to corroborate the measured natural radiative lifetimes of In$_x$Ga$_{1-x}$N/GaN multi-quantum wells.

기어의 진동 소음을 예측 및 분석할 경우 전통적으로 소음원(source)-패스(path)-리시버(receiver)의 상호관계를 고려하여왔다. 보통 변속기의 소음원으로써 기어에 축하중과 변형량의 기여로 인하여 소음이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 LDP (load distribution program)를 이용하여 하중에 따른 최소 변형량을 해석을 통해 예측하고, 이를 시험을 통해 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 객관적인 요소에 주관적인 평가 요소를 융합함으로써, 시험 시에 측정하였던 데이터를 이용하여, 주관적인 소음의 정도를 정량적으로 분석 가능 할 수 있도록 하였다.

<P>The aim of this study was to develop a prototype magnetic resonance (MR)-compatible positron emission tomography (PET) that can be inserted into a MR imager and that allows simultaneous PET and MR imaging of the human brain. This paper reports the initial results of the authors' prototype brain PET system operating within a 3-T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system using newly developed Geiger-mode avalanche photodiode (GAPD)-based PET detectors, long flexible flat cables, position decoder circuit with high multiplexing ratio, and digital signal processing with field programmable gate array-based analog to digital converter boards.</P>

It is a long standing issue how non-Abelian entities take shape in macroscopic real space and are measured technically. Based on the gauge theory cast on recent spintronic researches, we obtained the expectation values of the Yang–Mills feld strength in Rashba systems interfaced with a hard wall. This non-Abelian quantity is proportional to the spin density near the walls, when an external electric feld is applied. The Yang–Mills feld strength exerts a force on electrons, analogous to the infuence of a magnetic feld, and this efect is further clarifed through the introduction of an efective scalar potential derived from a Landau-like gauge transformation and the analysis of electron’s classical trajectories. Our work demonstrates the feasibility of measuring the Yang–Mills feld strength employing the magneto-optical Kerr efect, and provides calculated projections of the expected outcomes. Notably, these results, using gauge transformations, can be applied to other systems, including the Dresselhaus system.
Genome-wide in-locus epitope tagging of Arabidopsis proteins using prime editors

Prime editors (PEs), which are CRISPR-Cas9 nickase (H840A)-reverse transcriptase fusion proteins programmed with primeediting guide RNAs (pegRNAs), can not only edit bases butalso install transversions, insertions, or deletions without bothdonor DNA and double-strand breaks at the target DNA. Asthe demand for in-locus tagging is increasing, to reflect geneexpression dynamics influenced by endogenous genomic contexts,we demonstrated that PEs can be used to introduce thehemagglutinin (HA) epitope tag to a target gene locus, enablingmolecular and biochemical studies using in-locus taggedplants. To promote genome-wide in-locus tagging, we also implementeda publicly available database that designs pegRNAsfor in-locus tagging of all the Arabidopsis genes.

검사점 작성을 이용하는 실시간 태스크의 스케줄링 가능성을 알기 위한 선행 조건으로 최악 수행시간을 분석하고 이를 최소로 하는 효율적인 검사점 작성의 위치를 결정하는 방법을 제시한다. 여기서 사용하는 조건은 k 개의 연속적인 결함을 허용하고 태스크의 검사점 작성 비용이 고정적인 경우와 가변적인 경우를 가정한다. 이러한 각 조건에서 최악 수행 시간을 최소로 하는 검사점 작성 알고리즘을 제시한다.

Currently, the 28 GHz ECRIS (electron cyclotron resonance ion source) was developed to produce a high-current heavy-ion beam at the KBSI (Korea Basic Science Institute). The high-voltage platform of the 28 GHz ECRIS is essential to deliver an ion beam to the next acceleration stage. The high-voltage platform was designed considering dielectric characteristics in order to ensure electrical safety. In this paper, a study on the dielectric characteristics of GFRP (glass- fiber-reinforced plastic) is performed to determine the thickness of the GFRP cylindrical shell located between the plasma chamber and the warm bore of the superconducting magnet cryostat. The dielectric experiments on a GFRP cylindrical shell were conducted under a DC voltage. Sphere-to-plane electrode systems were used to examine the dielectric characteristics. Also, the relationship between the dielectric characteristics of the GFRP cylindrical shell and the distribution of the electric field intensity was calculated and analyzed by using FEM (Finite Elements Method) simulations.
GPU-Accelerated Password Cracking of PDF Files

Digital document file such as Adobe Acrobat or MS-Office is encrypted by its own ciphering algorithm with a user password. When this password is not known to a user or a forensic inspector, it is necessary to recover the password to open the encrypted file. Password cracking by brute-force search is a perfect approach to discover the password but a time consuming process. This paper presents a new method of speeding up password recovery on Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) using a Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA). PDF files are chosen as a password cracking target, and the Abode Acrobat password recovery algorithm is examined. Experimental results show that the proposed method gives high performance at low cost, with a cluster of GPU nodes significantly speeding up the password recovery by exploiting a number of computing nodes. Password cracking performance is increased linearly in proportion to the number of computing nodes and GPUs.
