Background: Psoriasis is an inflammatory disease, characterized by erythematous papules or plaques with white scale. Risk of cardiovascular diseases is elevated in patients with psoriasis, and systemic treatments of psoriasis may lower cardiovascular events. Objectives: This study was aimed to assess the association between the rates of cardiovascular diseases and systemic treatments of psoriasis. Methods: This nationwide population-based cohort study analyzed the data of patients with psoriasis using National Health Insurance Service Database. The database was collected from 2006 to 2018 in Korea and a total of 1,201,778 patients with psoriasis over 20 years old were included. In this study, the patients who have never received systemic therapy were defined as mild. The patients were classified as moderate to severe, if they had received any systemic treatments such as methotrexate, cyclosporine, acitretin, phototherapy, or biologics. Results: Overall cumulative incidences for major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) were 7.00, 3.17, 2.37, 0.83, and 3.61 for cyclosporine, methotrexate, phototherapy, biologics, and mild group, respectively. Conclusion: The therapeutic modalities in psoriasis were related to cardiovascular outcomes in this study. Methotrexate, phototherapy, and biologics tend to lower the rate of cardiovascular events. The randomized trials are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of systemic antipsoriatic treatments and cardiovascular safety.
Study on DAS-Based Time Synchronization for Improving Reliability of Section Load Estimation
Lee, In-tae,Lee, Ji-Hoon,Jung, Nam-Joon,Jung, Young-Beom,Lee, Byung-sung Korea Electric Power Corporation 2015 KEPCO Journal on electric power and energy Vol.1 No.1
For effective distribution planning and operation, we need a reliable estimation of operation capacity. But it is difficult to ensure reliability due to the low accuracy of section load data, which is used as a basis in estimating the operation capacity. This paper discusses how to improve the accuracy of section load data by analyzing the existing method of estimating the section load, using statistical techniques to adjust the acquired data, and using the section load estimation algorithm to estimate the section load based on the adjusted data.

The time-zone of pollinating activity according to numbers of Apis mellifera hive released in the strawberry(Maehyang var.) houses was together from 9A.M. to 4P.M., and the peak times of pollinating activity were between 11A.M and 1P.M.. The effects on pollinating activity according to numbers of A .mellifera hive released in the strawberry houses were ordered 5bee combs(11,000heads), 4bee combs(8,800heads) and 3bee combs(6,600heads). The rate of workers lost in A. mellifera hives with 5bee combs and 4bee combs during the strawberry cultivating period were lower than that of 3bee combs. The rates of fruit set by pollinating activity according to numbers of A.mellifera hive released in the strawberry houses were same level with 99%. The fruit qualities; No. of seeds, sugar content and rate of normal fruit set were same level, but fruit weight was ordered 5bee combs in 16.9g, 4bee combs in 16.4g and 3bee combs in 15.6g. The rate of marketable fruit of 4bee combs and 5bee combs were 5% to 9% higher than that of 3bee combs, respectively.

Background: The development of therapies for psoriasis has led to the need for a new strategy to the treatment of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis. New consensus guidelines for psoriasis treatment have been developed in some countries, some of which have introduced treatment goals to determine the timing of therapeutic regimens for psoriasis. Objective: To investigate the opinions held by Korean dermatologists who specialize in psoriasis about treatment goals, and to compare these with the European consensus. Methods: Korean dermatologists who specialize in psoriasis were asked 11 questions about defining the treatment goals for psoriasis. The questionnaire included questions about the factors used to classify the severity of psoriasis, defining the induction and maintenance phases of psoriasis treatment, defining treatment responses during the induction phase, and defining treatment responses during the maintenance phase. Results: The Korean consensus showed responses that were almost similar to the European consensus, even without using the Delphi technique, which uses repeated rounds of questions to reach a consensus. Only one response that related to psoriasis severity in the context of the quality of patients` lives differed from the European consensus. Conclusion: The concept of using treatment goals in the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis can be applied to Korean psoriasis patients. Since a tool for assessing the quality of patients` lives is not commonly used in Korea, the development of a simple, rapidly completed, and region-specific health-related quality of life assessment tool would enable treatment goals to be used in routine clinical practice.(Ann Dermatol 27(2) 184∼189, 2015)

Lee, Seoung-Ki,Kim, Beom Joon,Jang, Houk,Yoon, Sung Cheol,Lee, Changjin,Hong, Byung Hee,Rogers, John A.,Cho, Jeong Ho,Ahn, Jong-Hyun American Chemical Society 2011 NANO LETTERS Vol.11 No.11

With the emergence of human interface technology, the development of new applications based on stretchable electronics such as conformal biosensors and rollable displays are required. However, the difficulty in developing semiconducting materials with high stretchability required for such applications has restricted the range of applications of stretchable electronics. Here, we present stretchable, printable, and transparent transistors composed of monolithically patterned graphene films. This material offers excellent mechanical, electrical, and optical properties, capable of use as semiconducting channels as well as the source/drain electrodes. Such monolithic graphene transistors show hole and electron mobilities of 1188 ± 136 and 422 ± 52 cm2/(V s), respectively, with stable operation at stretching up to 5% even after 1000 or more cycles.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info
