      • A Chemical Reactor for Hierarchical Nanomaterials with Tunable Structures: A Metal-Triggered Reaction in the Confined Heat Chamber

        <P>A novel protocol for the synthesis of core@shell particles with transformable core structures has been introduced, and its use as a chemical reactor for hierarchical nanomaterials with tunable properties has been demonstrated. A metal, metal/polymer, or bimetallic hollow structure was incorporated into the interior of silica capsules via controlled heat treatment of the inorganic-coated polymer particles. A micrometer-sized capsule was used as a reaction chamber to contain and sustain heat, and metal NPs were used as a controller for the transformation of polymer cores. By varying the thermal conductivities of the metal NPs, it was also possible to confer synthesis of hatlike, UFO-like, or bimetallic hollow structures within the capsule. This novel method for core@shell particles is useful for synthesizing nanomaterials with controlled structures and properties. Furthermore, Pt/Au capsule@SiO<SUB>2</SUB> and Au/polymer@SiO<SUB>2</SUB> showed excellent catalytic properties for the transformation of nitrophenol to aminophenol. This approach could be used to tune the structures and properties of various kinds of polymer matrices.</P><P>A novel protocol for the synthesis of core@shell particles with transformable core structures is introduced, and its use as a chemical reactor for hierarchical nanomaterials with tunable properties is demonstrated.         제주도 올리브 과원에 발생하는 해충 종류

        2019년부터 2022년까지 제주도 올리브(olive, Olea europaea)에서 발생하는 해충을 조사한 결과, 총 15종의 해충이 확인되었다. 이중 나방류와 노린재류의 발생과 과실 피해가 매우 심했다. 나방류는 수수꽃다리명나방(Palpita nigropunctalis), 큰점애기잎말이나방(Aterpia circumfluxana), 차잎밀아나방(Homona magnanima), 차애모무늬잎말이나방(Adoxophyes honmai) 순으로 많이 발생하였다. 나방류 해충은 주로 잎을 가해했지만, 수수꽃다리명나방은 과실피해도 심하게 유발하였다. 노린재류로는 갈색날개노린재(Plautia stali), 썩덩나무노린재(Halyomorpha halys), 풀색노린재(Chinavia hilaris)가 주로 발생하여 과실 피해를 유발하였다. 깍지벌레류인 갈색깍지벌레(Chrysomphalus bifasciculatus)와 뽕나무깍지벌레(Pseudaulacaspis pentagona)는 무방제 시 과실에도 발생하여 피해를 주었다. 진딧물과 해충은 국내 미기록종인 올리브면충(신칭, Prociphilus oleae)만이 발생하였고, 갈색나무매미충(Ricania shantungensis)도 올리브에 처음 발생이 확인되었다. 국내 미기록종인 올리브철모깍지벌레(신칭, Saissetia olea)은 발견되었으나 방제후 더이상 발생하지 않았다. 이외 천공성 해충이 올리브에 심각한 피해를 유발하였으나, 종은 확인되지 않았다. Fifteen insect species have been identified as olive pests through a survey conducted in olive orchards on Jeju island from 2019 to 2022. The occurrence and fruit damage caused by Lepidopteran and hemipteran were significant severity. Among the moths, the order in which the population was large was as follows: Alpita nigropunctalis, Aterpia circumfluxana, Homona magnanima, and Adoxophyes honmai. These lepidopteran species primarily caused damage to leaves, but P. nigropunctalis inflicted severe damage to the fruits by feeding on the inside. Three stink bugs, namely Plautia stali, Halyomorpha halys, and Chinavia hilaris, were commonly observed and responsible for damaging olive furits. Chrysomphalus bifasciculatus and Pseudaulacaspis pentagona were found to occur and damaged fruit in non-controlled orchard. Prociphilus oleae, which is being recognized for the first time in Korea, and Ricania shantungensis discovered for the first timein olive orchard. Saissetia olea, a quarantine pest, was found in one farm, but subsequent pesticide spraying resulted in their elimination. Although severe damage was inflicted upon the olives, no perforated pests were found during the survey.

        곱셈기가 제거된 의료 초음파 신호처리용 프로그래머블 FIR 필터 구현을 위한 수정된 SaA 구조

        Programmable FIR filters are used in various signal processing tasks in medical ultrasound imaging, which are one of the major factors increasing hardware complexity. A widely used method to reduce the hardware complexity of a programmable FIR filter is to encode the filter coefficients in the canonic signed digit (CSD) format to minimize the number of nonzero digits (NZD) so that the multipliers for each filter coefficients can be replaced with fixed shifters and programmable multiplexers (PM). In this paper, a new structure for programmable FIR filters with a improved frequency response and a reduced hardware complexity compared to the conventional shift-and-add architecture using PM is proposed for implementing a very small portable ultrasound scanner. The CSD codes are optimized such that there exists at least one common nonzero digit between neighboring coefficients. Such common digits are then implemented with the same shifters. For comparison, synthesisable VHDL models for programmable FIR filters are developed based on the proposed and the conventional architectures. When these filters have the same hardware complexity, pass-band ana stop-band ripples of the proposed filter are lower than those of the conventional filter by about $0.01{\sim}0.19dB$ and by about $5{\sim}10dB$, respectively. For the same filter performance, the hardware complexity of the proposed architecture is reduced by more than 20% compare to the conventional SaA architecture.

        생육시기별 차광 처리에 의한 고구마 생육 및 수량성 평가

        최근 기상이변으로 인한 일조부족이 문제되어 작물의 수량 감소 피해가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구는 생육시기에 따라 차광량을 달리하여 고구마의 생육양상 및 수량 감소 정도를 구명하고자 수행하였다. 1. 생육시기별 차광률은 55% 차광 처리시 약 51%, 그리고 75% 차광 처리시에는 약 65% 수준의 차광률을 보였다. 차광처리에 의한 광계 II 암적응 최대양자수율(Fv/Fm) 조사 결과는 호감미와 진율미 두 품종 모두 대조구와 55% 차광 시험구는 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았고 75% 차광 시험구의 경우 대조구 보다 약간 높은 수치를 보였다. 2. 차광 처리 50일 경과 후 처리별 광합성에 이용되는 색소의 함량을 조사하였다. 호감미와 진율미 두 품종 모두 차광처리구의 엽록소 a와 b의 함량이 대조구에 비하여 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 특히 엽록소 b의 함량은 더 많은 비율로 증가 하였다. 호감미의 경우 대조구에 비하여 55%와 75% 차광처리구에서 각각 47%, 41% 증가하였고 진율미의 경우는 각각 39%, 34% 엽록소함량이 증가하였다. 3. 괴근형성기(정식 후 50일간)와 생육 중기(정식 후 50~90일 사이)에 차광처리 시 생육특성을 조사하였다. 지상부 및 지하부 건물중 역시 두 품종 모두 대조구에 비하여 차광 처리 시 감소하였다. 특히 괴근 형성기에 두 품종 모두 수량이 감소하였다. T/R율은 차광처리에 의하여 두 품종 모두 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 괴근형성기 및 비대기에 일조량이 부족할 경우 두 품종 모두 전반적으로 괴근 형성 및 비대가 억제되는 경향을 보였다. 4. 수확 후 수량 조사 결과 두 품종 모두 생육시기별 차광 처리에 따라 괴근 비대가 저조한 양상을 띠었으며, 특히 호감미가 수량감소폭이 진율미에 비해 상대적으로 크게 나타났다. 또한 차광처리가 높을수록 수확량도 크게 감소되었다. 괴근 형성기와 괴근 비대성기에 비하여 괴근 비대기에 두 품종 모두 수량 감소의 큰 영향을 받았다. This study was conducted to determine the degree of reduction in the yield of sweetpotato subjected to different shading treatments according to the growing season of the typical viscous sweetpotato 'Hogammi' and the powdery sweetpotato 'Jinyulmi'. Shading was provided using commercially available shading nets (55% and 75% shading level), and the treatments were applied at the following stages of storage root growth: SFS: the storage root formation stage (planting-50<sup>th</sup> day), SSS: the storage root swelling stage (50-90<sup>th</sup> day), and SAS: the storage root actively swelling Stage (90-120<sup>th</sup> day). The growth characteristics according to shading treatments during each growth period, the number of tubers obtained at harvest, and sugar contents were investigated. For both assessed cultivars, there was no significant difference between the control group and the 55% shading treated group with respect to the maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) of photosystem II under different shading treatments, whereas the 75% shading group showed slightly higher values than the control group. In both cultivars, the contents of chlorophyll a and b tended to increase in plants subjected to shading treatments compared with the control plants, particularly that of chlorophyll b. Compared with the control group, the chlorophyll b content of 'Hogammi' subjected to 55% and 75% shading increased by 47% and 41%, respectively, whereas that of 'Jinyulmi' increased by 39% and 34%, respectively. We also detected reductions in the dry weights of the above- and belowground parts of the two varieties in response to shading compared with the control, with the reduction in the dry weight of belowground parts being significant. Furthermore, in both varieties, the T/R rate tended to increase in response to shading treatment. Owing to the lack of sunlight, both cultivars tended to suppress the formation and enlargement of tuber roots. Consequently, post-harvest yield analysis revealed that under shading treatments, both cultivars were characterized by poor tuber root growth according to growing season, with the yield of 'Hogammi' showing a greater reduction compared with that of 'Jinyulmi'. In addition, we found that the higher shading level also significantly reduced yields. Compared with the storage root formation and storage root actively swelling stages, shading treatments during the storage root swelling stage significantly affected yield reduction in both varieties.

        Screening of Selected Korean Sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas) Varieties for Fusarium Storage Root Rot (Fusarium solani) Resistance

        A common post-harvest disease of sweetpotato tuber is root rot caused by Fusarium solani in Korea as well as the other countries. Storage root rot disease was monitored earlier on sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas) in storehouses of different locations in Korea. In the present study, an isolate SPL16124 was choosen and collected from Sweetpotato Research Lab., Bioenergy Crop Research Institute, NICS, Muan, Korea, and confirmed the identification as Fusarium solani by conidial and molecular phylogenetic analysis (internal transcribed spacer ITS and translation elongation factor EF 1-α gene sequences). The isolate was cultured on potato dextrose agar, and conidiation was induced. The fungus was screened for Fusarium root rot on tuber of 14 different varieties. Among the tested variety, Yenjami, Singeonmi, Daeyumi, and Sinjami showed resistant to root rot disease. Additionally, the pathogen was tested for pathogenicity on stalks of these varieties. No symptom was observed on the stalk, and it was confirmed that the disease is tissue specific.
